My friends and I were at Frankie’s as part of a large group doing a paint night. We were in the back room of the building. The floor was being redone with a laminate type hardwood, but the walking area of the floor was covered with rugs. We were told that the rugs were there because the flooring job wasn’t complete. It really could have been a disaster if some stepped the wrong way. The painting event we were attending had been planned for a while, at least 2 weeks. However, there wasn’t enough staff/servers to cover our group, exclusively. My friends and I had to walk to the bar for drinks and menus. Not a huge deal, but I dint want to stop and walk out of the room while on the middle of a project. When the server’s did come back to our room it wasn’t often. This was a prime situation to make big money. When we walked up to the bar to pay our tabs, the owner/Manger was sitting at the end of the bar, the bartender was eating, and a server/the only server was in the kitchen eating. As for the food. A couple of my friends ordered Irish and regular nachos. It took a while to get the food. At first sight, the waffle fries and. chips had burnt edges, the lettuce was added before the cheese, then cooked/baked/broiled(not really sure). The meat/hamburger was tastelss, the lettuce, obviously, was wilted and the cheese was plastic, at best. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone for any reason!

I’ve been here several times and generally I’m very satisfied with the food. But over this past weekend my wife and I took my brother and his girlfriend plus a couple of friends there to celebrate my brother’s birthday. Got there a little before 7:30 and it was pretty empty. Got drinks, ordered a couple of appetizers and then we were ready to order dinner and we lost our waitress. After about 10 minutes of trying to grab her attention because she was now tending bar, we asked another waitress to ask our waitress to come over to take our order. She took our order and 30 minutes later, still no food. But we noticed another waitress who took an order for someone behind us who got their food before ours… and oh, yea the waitress sat down and ate with them. So maybe if you know someone, you have pull to get your order. So after 45 minutes, we asked our waitress where our food was and she said it was being played and that the owner was helping in the kitchen. A few minutes later we noticed the owner was at the bar having a drink. Guess he got bored with the kitchen. So then still without food we got his attention and came over to our table and his body posture said, I really don’t want to hear what your table has to say. Then he said after being questioned about our food it will be right out. If it was ready, where was it? He offered to give it to us free, but by almost 9, who’s hungry anymore. We said no, and then he said pay for what we ate or drink to that point, which we were going to do anyway. He didn’t try to get details or smooth out the ill feelings. He just walked away and went back to the bar. We couldn’t wait to get out of there so we left! The bottom line was the owner wasn’t managing and the wait staff and customers were unhappy. So much for going back to Frankie’s. If the owner doesn’t care about losing customers why should I care about going back.

came to Frankie’s on the Boulevard for the Kentucky derby party! Great acoustic band, hat contest, and mint julep specials. I ordered the Kentucky hot brown sandwhich special. wow! Turkey, brioche toast, bacon, topped with cheese sauce, and a side of fries. So filling and so good! This is one of my favorite places in Springfield and I can’t wait to come back!

Great food! Everything is homemade. It is a little loud in there but we visited on a Friday evening. Will definitely visit again, they have a great menu.

Ordered a ponysoe and was charged for a horseshoe. The fries had absolutely zero salt on them. The owner was too busy doing shots with his buddies to give a damn tho. The little tattooed bartender was doing a good job. Prob wont return for food but possibly a few beers.

Been here a few times and never had a bad experience. Food was fantastic each time and was reasonably priced. Even breakfast was good on a Sunday morning. Came her a few weeks ago at night and the place was packed. Really good band. They had just opened that night. Cold beer, good food. I’ll be back. Update, the food has been even better. They have special events menu from time to time. They have a special BBQ menu and a Seafood/Cajun menu that is absolutely fantastic. The chicken wings have one about every contest locally. Brisket is great! Gumbo and crawfish stew also.
