Good dim sum! I went with my sister and we ordered har gow(ha cao), xiu mai, fried turnip cake, scallop dumpling, steamed roast pork buns, and chow mein. The service was good; our servers were nice all around. My sister especially liked the chow mein, and I really liked the fried turnip cake(which has always been a dim sum favorite for me). Would recommend!

It was busy considering it was Father’s Day but they still were able to seat us(party of 2) right when we walked in. The servers were friendly and they had typical dim sum service with the push carts. There was a variety of plates to choose from and also there would be waiters walking around with other dishes that were not in the carts. One of them was some type of vegetable chow mein that was amazing. We got banh bao(steamed roast pork buns), ha cao(shrimp dumplings), shu mai(pork dumplings), scallop dumplings, and turnip cake. Everything was pretty good– an overall great experience. I would return back to Golden Hong Kong for dim sum as it’s a lot closer to me than most of the dim sum places in Falls Church!

We arrived for dim sum service is slow, menu sparse. We were told that we showed up after the rush so there would be less to choose from but that we could make a special order for it… hello the purpose is to be able to make a choice based on how it looks when it arrives at the table. Even so food was average at best prices were fair

Service is hit or miss and cleanliness isn’t the best, but the food is usually very good. The food is more authentic than most of the Chinese restaurants in Springfield. It’s a great spot for large parties and family style dining. Some of my favorite dishes are the beef chow fun, roast pork wonton noodle soup, seafood pan fried noodles, and the crispy beef. I think the crispy beef is better than Peking Gourmet’s!

The dim sum was very good. I got the pork sticky rice, a pork bun, the shrimp pancake, and the eggplant with shrimp cake. The eggplant was my favorite, the bun my least favorite, maybe because the eggplant was super saucy and tasty and the bun was a little dry. The place is just in a strip mall, nothing fancy, but pretty authentic for Cantonese. We also got peking duck, which was very very good.

I’ve never been a fan of Chinese food until I dated my Chinese boyfriend and this place by far is the best. I love their dim sum here. I usually get the shrimp crepes and the deep fried shrimp balls as well as other stuff my boyfriends orders. I also love their beef and sour cabbage entrée and their roasted pork entrée. The serving sizes are very generous and I think the prices are reasonable. The service is always kind and friendly ready to help me figure out what I want since I’m always so indecisive. Definitely a must try for those who only order delivery/carry out of the basic Chinese foods like I used to. I only ever knew lo mein and fried rice haha.

The worst experience ever. Idk if the lady at the front is the owner or not but she’s very rude. She tried to convince me to let them try to make me a dish that I wanted but they didnt have on the menu. I declined kindly numerous times, then she just started giving me an attitude which made me want to just leave. But my boyfriend felt bad and ordered and he was up all night throwing up. Horrible service and bad vibe all around.

My husband orders from here once a week on the days we don’t feel like cooking. Can’t go wrong with the soy chicken, ginger chicken, and BBQ pork. We also love the crab asparagus & soup noodle dishes. So glad that there is a good authentic Chinese restaurant in the area and we don’t have to drive to Annandale to get our fix. The staff and service have been great too. Bad: dim sum is okay and nothing great.

I think this is the one of the worse dim sum available in the No. VA area and pricier than other options. We had previously tried their dim sum offerings several years ago and was not impressed, but we recently noticed in the Chinese newspapers that they were advertising more selections so we decided to give it another try this past Sunday. First — items pictured in the advertisement were not available. We wanted to get the carrot shaped dessert and the durian pastry. We asked one of servers if it was available and she looked blankly back at us and wandered to the back where there was a table of guests that seemed to be regulars and I guess hoped we would forget we asked anything. Second — offerings are very limited and not good. There are only two carts of steamed foods that offer the exact same things and yet they aren’t very good about pushing them around. The table behind us had to keep getting up to get what they wanted. Then there was the one dessert cart, which had the most disgusting coconut tarts I’ve ever tasted. I’m okay with the pastry part tasting porky because traditionally it should be lard, but there was no coconut flavor to the tarts and it was so sweet it was bitter in our mouths. Third — they frequently forget about what you ordered. We asked for the beef noodle crepes because only the shrimp was on the push carts. We never got it.

I always come here with my family when we celebrate birthdays for the older family members or just for nights where we are eating out casually as a family. We know the boss well so my family really love this place. We also order takeout here often since its so close to us. It is located within Springfield plaza. Back then when it was Canton it wasn’t that great but now its much better since its ownership and cook has been changed.

Dim sum is good here. This is my friend and his wife’s favorite place. They are regulars so they get extra good service which I benefited from! Service of course is great. We’re greeted as we enter. There is a nice little fish pond by the entrance. My friends are offered a table of their choice. Good jasmine tea. The dim sum choices are plentiful. Buns are good, taro crisp dumplings are not the best, pork ribs with black beans are ok, beef stuffed white noodles are great and so are the beef rice noodles. We’ve been here twice and the experiences have been great. I expect the same in future visits with the VIP friends. I give food 3 stars and service 4 stars.

The Full Kee of Springfield! Clean place. Pot of hot tea upon sitting down. Had the roasted duck noodle soup for $ 6.95 which included a nice portion of Chinese broccoli. The broth was great, the duck was meaty and roasted perfect, and noodles lovely! Also asked for some crushed ginger condiminet which they gave me along with red chili oil and soy sauce. No vineger.

Most dim sum places are mildly disappointing in this area and the reviews reflect that. I have lower expectations when not in Asia or Hawaii or SF or NYC and plus it’s just Chinese food when you come down it. Meaning, hard to mess up too badly. I like that this place has a dim sum menu all day every day, with just the carts on weekend mornings. For dinner you have to order minimum 4 and they are a dollar more but still a really good deal. They don’t have pics so have to kind of guess if you don’t know dim sum well. We also ordered the cold jellyfish salad which I had never had. I loved the sesame oil flavor and texture along with the picked radish like you see in ban me. You have to like octopus and squid though. For dim sum we had a few kinds of dumplings all really good. Use the spicy sauce and soy sauce combo that’s on the table. My only complaint there was that they kind of fell apart and stuck to the containers because of the way they were served and put together. Still tasty though. The pork buns are a must and we’re done very well. We also really liked the stuffed eggplant to add some veggies. Very lightly fried and lots of sauce.

I’m writing this review because this is definitely one underrated restaurant in the area. I grew up in Hong Kong and I would definitely say it’s very authentic Cantonese at a reasonable price. They have a wide selection of Cantonese dishes and almost all of them are very solid and quality is very consistent. Dim Sum: Solid quality. I’ve been to the famous one in Arlington, Mark’s Duck House, etc. and I prefer Golden HK. They might not have as many varieties, but they do all the basics really well. I even convinced my husband to eat the tripe there! My tip is to go there early on the weekend when it’s the freshest. You can order dim sum all day long but it’s not really doing it justice when you don’t go at the right time. They also do the Hong Kong BBQ and the time we went on a Sat am, they offered the roast pork on a small dish as part of dim sum. That was the most juiciest and tastiest roast pork I and other people on our table have had. We’ve gone other times for that but I have to say it’s not the same when it’s fresh out of the oven. Dinner: Their fried garlic chicken is very good. I usually stay away from the Chinese fried chicken since it’s not very interesting, but this is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and full of garlic flavor. There many other things on the menu so go wild(well not the American Chinese stuff, I never ordered them and it didn’t look like it was that interesting, stay authentic here)! We always order a vegetable on the side. They’re surprisingly expensive like in most Chinese restaurants for ordering some green at like $ 15 but they’re a must have with any meal(balanced diet!) and the portion is very generous. I recommend the snow pea leaves or the water spinach(or they call the Chinese watercress?) with garlic. They’re pure and very popular with Chinese. I can just have that and some fried rice, and it’ll make a really good meal! Everything has tons of wok hei and you just can’t get that at home. I love hearing the BTU everywhere in the restaurant haha! Snacks: Their fish congee was very good, very creamy and tasty. I like their authentic fried rice and noodles. I’ve tried the HK style wanton noodle soup, while it’s not bad at all, that’s prob not my go to thing to order. The service is usually what I can totally overlook but I have no complaints either. They are real Chinese and that’s the part of the authentic experience you get! They might not give you 5 star service but they’re never rude like the«we don’t really need your business» Arlington place. The boss lady is very nice and from what I read from the Arlington boss lady, she’s a whole lot better! This is all dine in experience btw. I don’t think the take out would be bad since we always like our leftover from there but some times you just have to be there to have the food when it’s the freshest!

The Good –Dim sum all day –Has pretty the most popular dim sum options –Decent quality The Bad –When ordeding off of the dim sum menu the manager stood over us and kept trying to guide us to buy certain items. It was awkward and annoying. –Requires a minimum of four items to get dim sum, understandable but I’ve never seen this before but it’s a compromise I can live with since they serve it all day.

Not coming back there! Caught them adding extra charges listed on handwritten receipt scrolled in Chinese. I went crazy going over each item with the owner and she was getting angry because i was questioning the items. Good thing i did, if not i will be another victim. Food could’ve been ok, but that incident is a no-no to any food service. That lady owner was the rudest person i have ever encountered! If you have to eat here, make sure you check your bill!

Initially, I wanted to give this place three stars, but as I stayed longer my rating for the place started to decrease… First of all, all the food was cold. Cold as in, the food was sitting out for hours. It was cold all the way to the center. However. It tasted decent for being so cold. I came here to eat their dim sum. We went pretty late and I think they were finishing up their dim sum rounds, so everything that was offered to us was old. They have a cart with dim sum that circulates the restaurant and every time it came around, it had the same thing in it. Nothing changed, so we were given the option to order dim sum off their menu. I was so confused because when the food we ordered off the menu was brought to us, it was cold too. Ughh just all cold. And not fresh. We had to tell them that the next order we wanted it hot and fresh. The next thing that happened was pretty funny and scary at the same time. The owner(I’m assuming she was the owner), came up to us and pointed at all the left over dim sum and literally forced us to take one of the dishes. We kept insisting that we didn’t want it and she was convincing us to get it. To a point where it felt uncomfortable.

Me and my brother stop here on a weekday. I can tell what the weekend like. But seeing a lot of customer pack this place. Here my review for a weekday. Empty and all the employe sitting in back. My brother order the chicken curry and I sweet and sour shrimp. I told here no green peppers in the sweet and sour shrimp. No vegetable just a little onion in it. Just like that like we didn’t told her nothing had every thing we didn’t what. Ask for the manager to take off the bill. The shrimp test like they use the same oil on everything. Hot and sour soup was great. That way I gave them the second star for the nice soup. I wood not what to come here again.
