To be honest, this place is like any other basic Chinese food place. Their chicken isn’t of the best quality and it’s noticeable. I would recommend paying just a bit more and going to Sakura down the road. Also, if you order carryout from here, plan to wait at least an hour or longer. They are very slow when it comes to this, so if you’re going to get Hung Lung just do carryout. This gets 2 stars because they have decent rice and bourbon chicken. But don’t hold your breath.

Very friendly operator. They explained the menu, and very accommodating. I don’t eat pork, and they were very kind enough to remind me that there’s pork in the hot sour soup. Appreciate small caring gestures like that.

We used to live in Cincinnati area for 20 years before moving back home to Springfield. We miss Cinci where we could go to Hong Kong Style Dimsum houses on weekends and get astounding Chinese food. Hung Lung is keeping us sane! WE drive past three or four other chinese places to go to Hung Lung. Their General Tsao’s Chicken, house special lo mein, and the Sinagpore Mei Fun is really outstanding. Actually it’s all good, they don’t cut corners. The pot stickers are always good, and they have the rare shrimp toast which we always order to eat on the way home. The crab rangoon is flat out the best you will have ANYWHERE. I mean best I’ve had anywhere. It’s a must order. My only wish is: Their seating sucks(which i admit it probably by design since it’s less work for carry out). Thats why we always take it to go. They need some regular tables wth chairs not the fixed hard uncomfortable booths. I’m not going to knock a star for it, just keep it in mind it’s a carry out place more than eat in. The adorable family that used to own it recently sold it, but the food seems not to have changed, let us hope that stays that way!

This place is where my wife and I have always went when in the mood for Chinese food. The food has been great every time and the people very nice.

I don’t recommend anyone eating IN here. The food is served in plastic tupperware-like trays with a plastic fork. A styrofoam cup for your drink. I guess that’s why everyone coming in took their meals to go. I ordered the lemon chicken. Oops! White meat enfolded in a breaded batter resembling a thick sock. It is one of the few independently owned restaurants in Springfield, but like all the others, no one’s heard of brown rice.

This is my favorite place to eat Chinese in springfield. It’s always amazing. A little pricey unless a lot of people are eating though. The store isn’t always the cleanest and there’s always children hanging around, but they help serve the tables if you sit in and they’re usually doing something adorable. Would always be my first choice for Chinese food!

Found my new favorite place! Just started coming here, each time the people are so friendly, the food is always hot, fresh and delicious! If you haven’t tried it you have to try it, it’s hard to find good places around Springfield, but I always feel welcome here and I know I will always get great food!

A mainstay! Fresh, well-prepared Chinese food, family-run for many years. We’ve watched all the kids grow up. My husband always gets the spicier dishes, but my favorite is House Special Lo Mein, with big shrimp, beef, chicken… yum! And I can’t believe no one has mentioned their Crab Rangoon. The best in the world. I’m not kidding. Hung Lung is the real deal.

I had Chinese food way better than this place before. And to see the few ratings I cannot agree with 4 – 5 stars. I had a simple as can it can get Chinese food«chicken and broccoli» and it was very bland. Chinese food from establishments like these are just like fast food greasy, fast and not healthy. So if I want something like that I want it to be good. I was disappointed. Maybe the area doesn’t offer much options for Chinese food but definitely try other places before coming here.

Delicious food. It’s not on the menu, but family style tofu with broccoli is top notch.

Not a ton to say except great food every time I’ve been here. The spicy dishes actually have enough heat to make your nose drip, but nothing that will blow you away spicy(you can ask for hotter though). The service is very friendly. The dishes seem a bit pricier than some other Chinese places, but the quality is good, and the portions are big.

This restaurant offers well-priced and seasoned chinese food. In Springfield the majority of chinese restaurants are a little on the sketchy side… but not Hung Lung! This restaurant is family-run and personally I find it to be a pleasure to go in for take-out and see their whole family(including the adorable little kids) being really cheerful and pleasant. There are children’s drawings all over the walls of like, 3 armed monsters, which I’m a big fan of. As far as the food goes, they do have a vegetarian menu which makes my life easier. I’m a very picky eater when it comes to chinese food, so I haven’t had anything that blows my socks off from that menu, but I don’t really know if you should take my word for it. My boyfriend has tried many of the meat dishes and he says they’re worth the money and have nicely balanced spice levels. I wouldn’t recommend any other chinese place in Springfield… my mother got food poisoning one of the chinese buffets on Main street(shudder). There is no fear of that kind of thing here, its great!

Fast, friendly service– Pretty standard fare, with some stand-out veggie choices that are full of flavor! Ask for the owner’s recommendations… Sometimes if you let her know what you do/don’t like, she’ll make special, off the menu recommendations.

I was looking for a good Chinese takout that wasn’t a buffet in Springfield… and I stumbled upon Hung Lung(from reading the Unilocal reviews of course) It’s looks no different than any other Chinese takeout I have been too, it has the same holographic waterfall picture on the wall and childrens coloring page art as well. The employees are really friendly, although I had to wait at the counter for a little while. they were pretty busy though, which is always a good sign to me. I got the Mongolian Beef and my friend got General Tso’s chicken. The Mongolian beef was good… but it wasn’t great. It just doesn’t live up to the standards of what I got from a restaurant way back in the day. I’ve been searching high and low for mongolian beef like that but alas, I don’t think I will ever find it. I tried the General Tso’s thought and it was AMAZING. Probably the best I have ever had, it even looked better than any other I have ever seen. Most tso’s has kind of a dull look to it, but the chicken, sauce and broccoli looked so fresh. The dishes were a little pricey(around $ 9.50), but the portions were huge and they takeout containers were the nice plastic one. so dinner or lunch for tomorrow… can’t go wrong with that. The menu was so big too with so many different options. I will definetly be going back to try something else there.

I’ve been ordering from Hung Lung for over 15 years, it is so delicious. I’ve eaten A LOT of Chinese all over the country in little carry outs, and this is hands down the best carry out Chinese food I have found. The ingredients are fresh, the flavor balance fabulous and they are more then happy to customize your order. Mine is always chicken and broccoli but instead of their usual brown sauce they always make mine to order with black bean sauce … sometimes I want it steamed, no problem. It’s just a nice family run restaurant with great food.

Great restaurant! I’ve been a loyal customer for years, and the quality of the food has not changed. It is one of the best American-Chinese food here in Springfield. I like the plastic containers they use for takeout because they are microwaveable and reusable. The best dishes are the Gen. Tso’s Chicken and Roast Pork Lo mein. I enjoy their egg drop soup and their steamed dumplings. Crab rangoon is also available. I would stay away from their beef strips dish(not sure what it’s exact name is). The dish always rubbery. The orange chicken is also bland. In spite of those dishes, Hung Lung is a great place for Chinese fast food!

So, far this is the best Chinese restaurant I have tried in the area. The ingredients are super fresh and everything is well prepared. One bonus is the plastic containers they use for the take-out orders. Keeps food very fresh and easily reusable. Very large portions — usually enough for 3 – 4 servings. Lunch specials are a really good deal.
