Infields

Infields brings a much needed spin on traditional Pakistani food to Springfield. The chicken Masala, steamed basmati rice, and roti was splendid. I highly recommend the nihari, a spicy melody of flavors which left me wanting more. A bit spicy — so not for the faint of heart! Then again, what is? ;-)
The grand opening was not without a few hitches. Spices are intense, too much for some Missouri locals to handle. The Chai was just so so, but our server worked hard to make it right and quickly adjusted the ratio of honey to ginger. Our salad never arrived and dessert was not only an after thought for us bit for the owners as well. Andy’s here we come!
Our pleasant surprise: the chef joined us briefly to explain the dishes and flavor complexity.
Overall I recommend Infields a 4 out of 5. Great start Infields!
