We stop at this place on the way through Springfield, my family really likes the place. If you get a meal combo per person you will have a crazy amount of food left. These are the best crap Rangoon I have had!

Excellent! Passing thru town and read the reviews. Did not disappoint. Crab Rangoon was up there in the top 5 I’ve ever had. Shrimp with black bean sauce was so flavorful and the shrimp were big & cooked perfectly. Egg rolls were good & so was the egg foo young my husband had. Nothing special inside but I cared more about the food than décor for a family dinner. I thought the prices were pretty good too but we’re from the burbs of Chicago so it’s probably relative. Glad we tried it!

Orange Chicken was very good. I had the combo dinner with the egg roll. All was good.

After going here for years I have to say the place has the best fried rice in town out of all the others I have tried. Its got that savory flavor without being overly oily. I believe they use saffron or some similar spice for the distinctive flavor and yellow coloring. Their eggrolls are top notch as well. They do their sweet and sour chicken in a tempura style that I am infatuated with. Well worth the price of admission

We decided to give this spot a try. Our usual place is seriously right next door. The menu was very basic, and so was the food. Not terrible, but also not great. Seemed a bit pricy too. If I’m going to be over by there then I would just hit my usual spot.

This place has the best crab Rangoon in town hands down. They are Amazing. I always get the hot and spicy chicken and fried rice as a meal. I have only tried a couple of things on the menu but everything I have had is great. The reason for the 4⁄5 stars is the staff are not very friendly and they don’t have a drive through. I would visit more often if they had one.

I called 11:40 place order to go say I’ll pick up at 1205 she calls back at 11:55 says my food is ready. Hmmmm I get there ask if food ready she says YES so I pay. Then I wait for them to cook. Needless t i say lunch break over $ 28 the dumplings great. Got a taste of the house soup… unsalted grease water. Have no idea about the rolls n rice I’m unhappy with this place because I made it clear I needed lunch ready ½ hour. I’m even more unhappy with her obvious understanding of honesty I’m even more unhappy with the lack of understanding of the language and the importance of treating customers like people not just the money. The poor quality of service and food will never get my money again. This place off the list.

Where do I start !!! I’m from Chicago and now reside here in Springfield, and it has taken me 3 and ½ years to find Legit Chinese food. Yes if you are from Chicago or most other major cities for that matter this is the real deal. Old school Chinese food that I grew up on. The Egg Foo Young was outstanding and cooked perfectly. Also had the Hunan Triple that was loaded with tender sliced pork, Juicy chicken and fresh shrimp in a spicy sauce,(had to ask for mine Xtra hot though) with FRESH assorted Veggies. Make sure and ask for your BBQ Pork fried rice CITYSTYLE and they will make it dark brown the way fried rice should be, not the yellow stuff that is served all around Springfield. If you are from a major city and craving old school excellent Chinese food you should really try this place. This is the only Chinese place that I will eat at now that I discovered it.

Stumbled across New China after exiting highway 44 and looking for something the whole family could eat. 3 of the 4 of us are vegetarian, including one gluten free person. According to the counter clerk all of the dishes on the vegetable portion of the menu are vegetarian. The mushu vegetable dish was particularly good, although note that it does have egg in it. Spring rolls are also veg. No detectable meat in any of the items we ordered. Sauce was a little on the heavy/oily side, but still tasty. Kids liked their dish of tofu and vegetables. Not spicy at all. Nor was the mixed vegetable dish.

Not so great. Spare ribs got a cup full of grease in it but meat is dry. Beef mushrooms way too greasy n too much sweetness in it. And they talk sh*t on Americans you’ll hear

Best Chinese in springfield. It takes a while to get your order but it’s because they are making it fresh. Lo Mein is awesome. Crab rangoons are also excellent. We are frequent customers and plan to continue being so in the future.

I’ve lived in Springfield my entire life and I still think this is the best place in town to get Chinese chicken!

Amazing, and filling food. So dang good. But, their service sucks. They are jerks when you order, which I don’t understand at all. Overall, I will definitely go back soon. It’s too good of food not to.

I’ve been eating here for years and have many reasons why I prefer New China to the vast Chinese options in Springfield, but I’m at this moment looking at two eggrolls we just ordered with absolutely no meat in them whatsoever. It is cabbage, nothing else, and I don’t even know how much they are charging for them now.(Ordered two eggrolls, one main dish and one soup for $ 17. I was quite shocked). I’ve never given a bad review because I think it is just bad karma, but if a restaurant I used to love is flat out lying about what is in their food and making a conscious decision to ripoff people, the public needs to know. I hope they make changes because places that do those things just don’t last, especially in this competitive market.

FAVORITE Chinese in Springfield. Flavors are great and menu is extensive. Crab rangoons are greasy, creamy, and just sinfully delicious. Pork fried rice is awesome and their dumplings are big and juicy and to die for. Their lunch specials are ridiculous cheap and ridiculously good. Food gets 5 stars. 1 star deduction for staff. They can be very hard to understand and forget about asking details. communication can be very difficult and twice now I have received something different from what I ordered due to language barriers. Don’t let this scare you though. Honestly I couldn’t even be mad because the mix ups turned out to be delicious! haha

Meh. I’m just not a fan of «Americanized-Chinese.» Everything is overly sweet, covered in gloppy sauce, and lacks the pizzazz of authentic Chinese. But, alas, my parents enjoy this type of Chinese food, and their opinion of it would be 4 or 5 stars. I ended up tagging along with them after they insisted on going. After waiting an obscene amount of time for our food to come out, I’ll admit that I did enjoy the General Tso’s chicken and the crabrangoons. However, very little else caught my attention, even though my parents cajoled me into trying a little bit of everything they ordered. There are definitely better places for Chinese, but if you’re wanting typical American Chinese fast food, it’s probably not a bad option.

The food here is AWESOME, the crabrangoon almost has too much filling! Thats very rare to find. The egg rolls were wayyyy to salty for my taste, but the entrée’s were so yummy! I’ll definitly call ahead next time though, because the cashier was extremely impatient with us and rude. The lobby was the most awkward place i have ever been stuck in so long, id rather of waited in a doctors office. Very weird.

Iv been searching Springfield for the best chinesse take out. Seems I’ve found it. The general tso’s is great, the orange chicken is to die for. The fried rice is done just right. The sweat and sour chicken is great as well. Staff is friendly, albiet they are difficult to communicate with through there limited understanding of english, but iv always seen that as a good sign, and in this case it is. The prices are great and the place is clean. Highly recommend New china

This is a good old fashioned New York style Chinese take out place. In a place like Springfield MO were«Chinese» food has it’s own subculture, New China is a refreshing and familiar taste for a former«Coasty». I recommend General Tso’s chicken, Sweet and Sour Shrimp and the dumplings.
