My wife and I went Sunday and almost left because there are no booths at all just really uncomfortable chairs and then I went to use the restroom and the water did not work whatsoever if we hadn’t drove for a couple hours home from vacation I would have thought more about it but how does the cook wash his hands after using the bathroom?

In recent years Eugene — Springfield has had a number of authenticly Chinese restaurants open. At the same time there has not been much decent Chinese — American food in the area, until now. Ocean Garden has the taste of the Chinese food I grew up with. Love the new owners and the food is amazing!

Have ate here several times both for lunch and dinner and never disappointed in the food or the friendly service… The honey spare ribs are to die for! Officially one of my new favorite jump off spots in Thurston.

Had a few good experiences with this restaurant. If you go there before closing they give you terrible portions and I had three shrimp tails in my chicken curry. Not returning. This restaurant was better under the other owners.

In a hurry, the family brought this home the other night instead of our regular Chinese favorite. We tried the Moo Goo Guy Pan, Fried Rice, BBQ pork, Mar Far Chicken and Broccoli Chicken. It was pretty good for the price. We will be back to try other things on the menu.

So happy the new owners got this place. My wife and I came in today not sure what to expect. The décor is very plain. No booths, just tables. The service was great. The food was amazing. Loved the hot n sour soup. Really loved the BBQ pork. The shrimp egg roll was awesome and my wife said her crab puffs were the best she ever had. Even the fried rice was better then most every place we’ve tried. The cook actually brought out out main dish and made sure we were happy. I also liked the music they played. It was a mix of traditional Chinese and classical. Great meal and great service. Can’t wait to go again and try the honey ribs.

We went here the other day on our way through Thurston, this place used to be Chu’s but it now has new owners. We stopped in, in hopes it would satisfy our Chinese craving. The service was beyond excellent. They had plenty of customers, so why the two star? Well I am picky. We ordered off of the Mandarin for 2 or more which served plenty of food. The soup was too thick for my liking, I didn’t like the flavor of the mandarin chicken, and I was too afraid at that point to try a bite of my guys general tso’s chicken. We usually like the white rice with these dishes, but were not given the option and they gave us the pork fried rice which I must say is about the only thing I did end up eating besides a few pieces of the fried shrimp that came with the Mandarin meal. I was hoping to find a diamond in the rough, or maybe it was an off night with so many customers, who knows.
