Delivery person was lost and seemingly did not listen to any of the directions I gave him. After an exhausting exchange he finally found my building but then had no change and ended up leaving with a $ 7 tip, because I couldn’t imagine him coming back and finding my building again. Food was okay.

I really don’t like writing bad reviews, but I’ve been really disappointed with the delivery service here. This used to be my go-to pizza place after searching around the area for a while but about 6 months ago or so we started to have bad experiences here. Delivery always seems to now take between 1.5 to 2 hours. Also, our orders were incorrect the last two times we ordered and pizza is always cold. On the positive side, the food still seems to be pretty good, but I will not be ordering delivery from here again unless I’m desperate.

Pizza Rustica is an above average pizzeria located in Springfield, New Jersey on Morris Ave. The sauce that they use is home made and the quality and the craftsmanship of their pies are great. I’ve had orders delivered and picked up from Rustica multiple times and was never not satisfied. The best meal i had so far was their pepperoni calzone, and their meatball parm. Altogether its a great local town pizzeria which has a awesome 2 pies for 20 $ deal.

Ordered a plain pie for the kids. They liked it & I thought it was ok, but wasn’t the best I’ve had in the area. I tried the Fatboy slim sandwich(chicken, spinach & Alfredo sauce) & it was really good. The chicken Caesar salad left something to be desired. The service was sub-par & the guy I talked to on the phone just seemed disinterested in what was going on. I will give it another chance before I make up my mind completely, but won’t go out of my way to order from here.

Moved into the area recently and wanted to try a new place. My go to is a place in Millburn but hey, let’s try a local joint I thought, so let’s give it a whirl. Ordered a Sicilian pie… if I am evaluating a place I order either a plain pie or if they serve it, a Sicilian. It arrived after 45 minutes. Crust was soggy but that wasn’t the main issue, the issue is the sauce. First of all, I don’t know if they are trying to «hook you up» but you are not doing me a favor by giving me 11.5 gallons of sauce of my pizza. It ruins everything and ruins the most important part of the pizza, the crust. Way too much so tone it down. Tell the joker making the pizza to study the art and then when he practiced at home for 3 years, then he can serve it to customers. Next is the sauce itself. It’s sweet and sour which means one thing, the tomatoes they use are extremely acidic and they are trying to fix it with added sugar. No flavor from garlic, herbs, salt, pepper, etc. The crust seemed ok but destroyed by the sauce. I hope they take this review as constructive criticism(I have been in the restaurant industry for 20 years,) swallow their pride and fix things. You, the business owners, are losing money with your current way of doing things. I may consider popping in for a quick slice in a few months to see if you have taken the advice given to you, otherwise, well, you know the statistic of restaurants… I hope you don’t become one, would be a shame. Fix it.

The original Pizza Rustica was hands down the best Pizza in the area. Their Ortolana and Buffalo Chicken were my weekend staple. The Grandma was hit or miss some days good some days too much sauce. The crust which had a small hint of salt, was always delicious on every pie ordered. Two years ago I had an event at my home and provided my guests Rustica Pizza, this day my friends are still raving about their Buffalo Pizza. One of my friends even came by a few weeks later to order the Their Buffalo pie. His lament, I have ordered this pie another restaurant but it doesn’t taste as good. So there are sad clients not only in Springfield but Fort Lauderdale Florida, and Passaic NJ Tonight I ordered from the new Pizza Rustica and was extremely disappointed. The pizza crust is tough. The sauce on the Buffalo was slimly and you could not distinguish between the Ranch and the Buffalo Sauce which normally is on the Chicken not all over the pie. It looks as if they mixed the two together, I’m not sure, but it just didn’t work. The crust on the Ortolana was thick like a regular Cheese pie and the vegetables were cut to large in addition they looked as if they were just tossed haphazardly on the crust. When I picked up the pies my initial thought was to leave them because they didn’t look very appetizing and the crust on the Ortolana was burned, but then decided to take a chance. I wish the new owners the best of luck, but I will not be ordering any more pizza from them and suspect they will be out of business within the year if they don’t figure out how to make Pizza.

It appears that there’s new management. The slices aren’t awful tasting, but they do not appear appetizing, and certainly do not approach the previous quality. They have gone from extraordinary to extra ordinary.(Wipes a tear from eye)

We decided to give this place a try based on the Unilocal reviews. I ordered a vodka grandma’s pie online. The menu states it takes 45 minutes for prep. About an hour and a half after ordering, we had our pie delivered. My first impression was that the pie was super greasy. The grease was seeping through bottom of the box and when you lifted a piece out all the grease was dripping off as well as the sauce/cheese. The sauce itself was good, a little bit too salty for my taste, but I did enjoy the crispy thin crust. Our pizza did not have patches of cheese unlike a posted picture from a reviewer. 2.5 stars for this pie. Perhaps I’m not a fan of the grandma’s pie and will have to try a different type of pizza next time.

Antonio Antonio wherefore art thou Antonio! GEESH Let me just tell you this! Antonio is an AMAZING owner his customer service skills are OFFICIAL. I came here to buy a plain pie for Pizza Friday Night with my boys and we began to talk about food and family. He was soo friendly and open about how he started the business etc. I saw how he interacted with his employees which was with so much respect and he knew just about everyone’s name(customers) when they came in I already knew I was in the right place. Anyway, I mentioned to him how much I enjoyed margherita pizza and you know what he did, right then and there he made me a personal pan margherita pizza!!! On the HOUSE! WWWHHHAAATTT!!! That made me feel soo special and let me tell you the SAUCE Ciao Bella! Very good Napoli Finest sauce. I love this place and I love Antonio very good pizza great mozzarella FRESH not store brought… Hey if the police are eating pizza there you KNOW this place ROCKS!

We checked out pizza rustica last night and thought the pastas were fantastic! Hubby had a concoction of bolgnese and vodka sauce combined — licked the bowl clean. Their vodka sauce is one of the better ones in the area for sure! I had marinara with fresh motz and mushrooms — excellent! Will def return to check out their pizza, take out and catering! Was only disappointed in the atmosphere — but owner is making those changes now. If you want fantastic pasta at a great price this cannot be beat

Hands down the best Italian food I’ve had in years! Antonio’s sauce is exceptional along with pizza and pasta. All dishes are prepared fresh so will wait a bit longer for your food, but totally worth it!

I think the pizza taste/quality is on par with the top spot in the vicinity… Joe’s Pizza Summit, and I would consider myself to be somewhat of a connoisseur. The pizza is super! Have also tried a couple of entrees as well and very happy with those too. There’s also a couple other good things going for this place too like fair pricing and no pick-up problems(like excessively too long waits beyond designated pick up time, etc.) Have not had any bad experiences with service, food, or anything. Overall — I say Pizza Rustica is a hit.

Real simple. I called in a plain cheese pizza. Ready for pickup in 15 – 20 minutes, during midday hours when it wasn’t busy. I arrived there 30 minutes later, said I was here for the pickup the cheese pie. Pizza guy was like, I don’t have a cheese pie for pickup. Asked me to wait for him to make it. Waited. Got it and left. Overall a good pie, not oily, cheese and sauce were good, but I was turned off to the service, it needs to get its act together.

Stumbled upon this place while I was in town. I had a buffalo chicken slice and to my surprise it is by far my favorite. The amount of buffalo sauce & bleu cheese was perfect & I know this because a lot of places I’ve been to, their buffalo slices has either too much of one than the other. The ambiance of the place is nice & clean. Looking forward to try other dishes on the menu.

I had the stuffed eggplant pizza(without any meat). The pizza was really good. I got a large pizza(for two people) and it was really filling, without making you feel bloated. Perfect take out place for your movie nights! :)

I thought the pizza was very good. Sauce was excellent. The cheese on the pie was a little greasy(not sure if it was 100% whole milk mozzarella) could have been a blend of some sort. Italian hero was great and the bread was very good. We will probably order again.
