It’s hard to screw up a taco! Theirs are great and fast! Great place to swing by when your in a hurry on your lunch break. Seating consists of a few picnic tables so make sure it’s a sunny day.

The Traveling Taco has great food, especially considering that this is Springfield, MO. However, I took a star off because of the inconsistent hours and because it’s cash-only, which can make it pretty inconvenient. They are posting hours on Facebook fairly regularly now though, and are working on a storefront. I’ve had the beef taco, the chicken quesadilla, and the churro. I was pleased and surprised by everything. The ingredients are high-quality and fresh, and it shows in the finished products. I think they have changed the beef in the taco from ground rib-eye, however. When I moved to Springfield I was pretty disappointed by the lack of decent restaurants, but the Traveling Taco has made my list.

I didn’t visit the trailer myself, but someone else picked up the food and brought it to work. The crispy fried flour tortilla shells worked well, the moisture of the meat kept them from being too crumbly. The flavor was nice, but I prefer a bit more spice. I had the pork, which was shredded. Nice size portions. The salsa was nothing particularly special, but it was tasty and fresh. The churros, if anything, had too much cinnamon and sugar for my taste, but I’m sure some people really like it that way.

Had the taco, and I will say up front that it is nothing like the kind of authentic Mexican taco you get from a taco wagon in Mexico or in places with a large Mexican population. That said, I did like the taco. It reminded me more of the way my family made them at home when I was a kid — ground beef seasoned with a packet of taco seasoning, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and(good) store-bought salsa. The flavors were all good(had the«hot» instead of «mild» but it seemed more like«medium» to me); the thing that made it extra special was that the shell was a large, crispy, deep-fried flour tortilla. And it was huge — one taco was loaded and dripping ingredients and filled me up and only cost $ 4. Other menu items include a tater tot taco salad, a taco burger, quesadilla, and burrito, and prices range from $ 4-$ 8. The service was good; they were a little behind due to the lunch rush, but it was obvious they were working hard to get everyone taken care of. Final note — they don’t accept credit cards at this time, but are hoping to in the near future. If you’re from the West Coast or if you’re from Mexico, you may be disappointed, but if you are from Missouri, I’m pretty sure you will like this place.

Worst service EVER!!! Can’t comment on the quality of the food, because I’ve never gotten any!!! At my second attempt do dine… After waiting 15 min(keep in mind this supposed to be a walk up and walk away place) I was told they were out of chicken. Who runs out of 1⁄3 of their total menu at 11:50 am??? Would highly recommend any taco truck to this one!!!

Was a lot better than I expected the tacos to be. Also, I was shocked to see how big it was! I aint gonna lie, to me it was like a glorified Taco Bell Chalupa but that isnt really a bad thing, in my opinion. It was for sure fresh and i loved the salsa(spicy but not overpowering.) It was also hella cold out that day and the workers let us wait in our car and they brought out the food to us. I dont know if this is something they always do or if it was just cause it was in the single digits that day –brrrrrr-but it was really sweet of them! While I did like the Traveling Taco, I would say that the taco truck that’s outside of Midnight Rodeo is better!

Had heard about the Traveling Taco and as we drove by it tonight, we did a quick turn around to give it a try. We thought it was excellent. The Traveling Taco was huge with a very light crispy shell. The Burrito was excellent, as was the Taco Salad. All were freshly made as we waited a for just a few minutes. Something different for Springfield. Highly recommend. We will go again.
