Best ribs in the area, the hotlink was pretty good too love the white bread with it. The portions are large and the wait staff was friendly.

I’ve had a terrible time finding decent barbeque on this coast, which surprises me. So I was very happy when a friend introduced to me Theodore’s. I hadn’t had good ribs in 2 years until I dropped by here. It’s delicious food, great music, and a fun ambience. Some good beers on tap! One warning: them live bands can be loud! Be prepared to enjoy when it’s rockin’!

Get the blackened chicken tenders — out of this world!!! Burnt Ends and fritters are good. Blackened chicken Alfredo light and tasty! Great beer selections on tap and spicy Bloody Mary’s.

I was surprised to find such a great bbq place so far from the south. I was happy with the brisket! I am really picky when it comes to the tenderness and flavor and they were hitting the spot. The ribs were falling off the bone. The macaroni wasn’t my favorite as I found it to be very bland. But the potato salad and baked beans were good.

This place is the quintessential, easy going, jazz blaring Bbq restaurant. Filled with Americana icons and blues, they serve up delicious bbq(St Louis or Baby back ribs with dry rub or smothered, pulled pork, bbq chicken). The collards were good and spicy, the cornbread is heavenly. The mac and cheese is rich and creamy. The band started to play as we left and the lead guitarist walked through the aisles and played right to our table. Every cop in town was there, so it must be a good place!

This place is something else. I thank the reviewers before me. I like the great art work on the wall. The place is nicely spaced out and gives a relaxing, open feel. I had a great experience here with my date. The drink prices were unreal. The Peanut Butter Fudge Cake was unstoppable, highly recommended. Get some friends and swing into this place. Liz is a top notch server and we were very impressed with her professional performance.

Had dinner with friend for first time. Server was Liz, we came in upset from hotel issues. We had an amazing experience here food, service, drinks, and deserts all fabulous !! Liz was amazing!! Would recommend to anyone. We also did not arrive till 9:30pm! Prices were very reasonable. Being a vegetarian the menu was limited, however they were quick to offer anything without the meat! Great place for all! Thank you Liz!

Wow great place. Good size portions for the price too. Had brisket which was awesome. Came with 3 standard sides. Collard greens and baked beans were excellent. Slaw had celery seeds so skipped that. Also the cornbread was great. Some sauces at the table to try. Good service.

Just left and I must say that place is amazing I’m not from around here visiting for business. I have to say the next time that I find myself in Springfield I know exactly where I am going to get lunch Theodore’s is authentic southern food in New England. X I had the full rack of baby back ribs amazingly tender falling off the bone it’s coated with a double dry rub followed by Bourbon barbecue sauce my dad had the pulled pork sandwich and he literally to use the fork and knife to eat it because of how huge it was. On our way here we were reading some reviews about the cornbread and waffle fries and I must say they both received 10 stars amazing amazing amazing this is become a new favorite for us keep up the good work amazing service and authentic atmosphere.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had, but the overall vibe of the place makes the experience awesome. The live music, the physical building, the food, the attitudes… it never feels like you’re in Springfield — which in my opinion is a very good thing. Get the Burnt Ends and Pulled Pork, you won’t go home hungry.

One of Springfield’s «must go» to restaurants and its very easy to see why the second you walk in. It is located on Worthington and right in the middle of the good restaurants in downtown Springfield. If this is your first time dining in the area I would suggest only Red Rose Pizzeria over Theodores, however if you want dinner and a show then Theodore’s is a great choice. Atmosphere here is incredible, with hand painted pictures recreating Springfields city lights and views from the water. Various artist caricatures are painted on the walls from all types of music, but mostly the blues. The place is very well kept, and while might seem a bit dark, I feel the lighting is perfect. Depending on when you show up, on most days after 8PM or 9PM there will be some type of live music, and from what I’ve seen in my 10+ visits here, they take pride in their selection of artists. I’ve never left early from a «bad act» and if anything have probably stayed out a bit too late on a random Thursday night because of how good the music is. The food selection is wonderful. The burnt ends are a must but I also would recommend the wings, they’re not the biggest but they are really good and give you a clue what’s in store. The portions are MASSIVE and I find myself adding an extra side because it will give me two days worth of left overs. My personal favorite are the short ribs with a dry rub and then loading up on some wonderful greens. The ONLY concern with food here is that they are busy, and it’s not uncommon for them to be out of one or two types of BBQ if you show up past 8PM. Don’t worry, I’ve had it all, and it’s all very good. Drinks are always ice cold here, which is a nice change from some downtown restaurants who don’t always have ice cold beer on hand. They’ve got a great selection of local brews and a few from just outside the state as well. The mixed drinks are not only incredible but a very fair price. They have one bar right in the entry way and another bar that opens on the other side of the restaurant as the night gets later and it turns more into a music hall. Theodore’s is a place ANYONE can go to and enjoy their meal and a night out. There’s free parking on the street and also $ 10 parking about 50 ft from the door. If you live in the Springfield area and haven’t been to Theodores, you owe it to yourself!

Great atmosphere… Great food! Sat at the bar and talked with some locals who recommended the Black Ends… which were incredible… added a bowl of Gumbo and a few drafts… and it was a 5 star evening!

This place is so damn good I just can’t wait to get back up there for more! The barbecue is delicious and the portions are almost overwhelming(in a good way) if possible. My lovely lady and I took a trip up to Springfield so that we can have dinner at a restaurant where my friend worked at. We messed up by not making reservations there but in a way, I’m sort of glad we didn’t! We took a stroll down the street and found this gem. Mmmm some amazing BBQ! The wait wasn’t too bad for a busy Saturday night. It’s pretty convenient that there is a bar right by the entrance which definitely made the wait time go by quicker. Once we got to put in our order, we started with the burnt ends, shared a plate of jambalaya, and each got our own order of ribs. I had the sampler, which included the huge beef ribs, some baby back and St Louis style. They were so juicy and fall off the bone good. Every bite packed a punch for sure! One order can feed two! The jambalaya was also very good and savory. The portion was also huge. The main mouth watering plate had to be the starter. That plate of burnt ends were so good I can’t even describe it. You just need to go get some for yourself. The burnt ends and cornbread are to die for.

Returned to Theodore’s for like the 6th time in a few weeks, We ordered the crawfish poppers and burnt ends as usual. Both were phenomenal as usual. Every time we come here we bring more and more people, I only feel bad about not writing stellar reviews for the past like 3 times we came, one including my gfs birthday dinner with around 10 people. Every time as phenomenal as the last. We split an entrée this time because we wolf down the apps so fast we never have room for the entrée. We got pulled pork, it literally melted in our mouths. The flavor was smokey, savory with a tail end of sweetness from the bourbon bbq sauce. This is by far the best bbq place I’ve been to In a long time and is our spot now when we have some coin and want to eat something stellar. We had their Texas tea, refreshing and balanced, I mash my lemon into it so it has a little more bite, phenomenal. There wasn’t music tonight which was disappointing but we had Cadie as our waitress again and let me tell you We can’t quite pick out what our favorite thing about this place is Cadie, the food, the drinks, or the music, it’s a tie for first for each and we haven’t been let down by any of them. We will keep returning for as long as we live in the area! Keep rocking Theodore’s you’re killing it.

I was staying at a nearby hotel with some coworkers, and we were looking for a fun place to celebrate someone’s birthday. Theodore’s was only a few blocks away, and we were definitely in need of booze. I like how they have live music, but we went on a day they didn’t have any scheduled. Mondays, huh. Their food is excellent. Everybody liked what they ordered, whether it was ribs, NY strip, or my choice, Burnt Ends. I’d read so many reviews praising the Burnt Ends, and I will confirm that they live up to the hype. Super tender chunks of meat with delicious smoky flavor? yes please. I liked the sauces provided on the table(special mustard and 2 types of barbecue) and thought the portions were pretty generous. And I liked how they gave us free popcorn for the table. The drinks were good too. I started with a local beer(goes with BBQ!) and switched to cocktails. Mad Mack’s Beyond Lemonade was basically vodka with Theodore’s homemade lemonade– simple and delicious. My friends enjoyed the Award Winning Margarita. The only downer was that our server was hard to find. Honestly, we would have ordered more drinks if she’d been around, but we still had a good time. This place is definitely worth checking out!

A true hidden gem in Massachusetts! The service was absolutely fantastic, the food was great, and the music was simply amazing. The band was playing anything from old blues to pink floyd! I had a GREAT time here. If you are a fan of great music(who isn’t) and in the area for the Big E or the Six Flags or what-have-you, check this place out. Just a word of caution though– the entire neighborhood seems to get a bit rough at night, so use your common sense when you visit this place.

Delicious food and wonderful customer service. After arriving to the restaurant we were immediately greeted by our hostess(who’s name escapes me) and she gave us some recommendations on what we should order. After she gave us the recommendations, she offered us some popcorn which was a welcomed treat! I had to stop myself from eating it to save room for my meal — that’s how good it was. For lunch, I ordered the beef brisket which came with baked beans, cornbread(my favorite of the sides) collard greens and cole slaw. The brisket was tender and not as juicy as I would like, but nonetheless delicious. I was unable to finish it all but for the value, it was definitely worth the trip.

Theodore’s, I am thoroughly impressed. This is what the BBQ of my dreams tastes like and it is hands down some of the best BBQ I’ve had in real life. My boyfriend got the half-rack of St. Louis ribs and they were truly fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy. I ordered the brisket and it was just as tender and practically flaked apart. You have the option of BBQ sauce on the meat or to use one of the three variations of BBQ sauce provided on the table. I chose sauce on and it was a delicious balance of sweet, smoky, and tangy. I believe it corresponds with the bottle of Bourbon BBQ sauce on the table. The other two bottles were a Chipotle BBQ and I can’t remember the other because I was simply too enamored with my brisket. The BBQ comes with 4 sides: corn bread with honey butter, collared greens, baked beans, and cole slaw. I wasn’t blown away by the sides but didn’t want to spend an up-charge of $ 1 each to replace them. I personally thought the collared greens were too sour and spicy for my taste but my boyfriend thought it was on point. Another plus is that when you order beer, they bring you a little glass to sample before you have to commit to it. Oh, and they have crayons on the table for an added touch of fun. All in all, the meat here is fan-freaking-tastic and the restaurant has a great vibe and space – I can only imagine how much more enamored I’d be on a night with live music. There’s no doubt that I’ll be back.
