Waste Management has very sketchy billing practices. Waste Management is running a big scam in Springfield. I cancelled my service in September and moved out of state. They did not pick up my trash cans as promised at the end of September. Instead they continued to charge my account for services and additionally charged me for the cost of the trash cans. I called multiple times to try and sort through this. I talked to Chianta, Eduardo, Jandi and Brianna. All of these people promised to look into it and call me back, yet not a single one of them did. My main problem with WM is that they made no effort to contact me when they were unable to pick up the cans on the promised day. If they had, I would have made arrangements before leaving the state to have a neighbor take the trash cans back in and then put them back out once again. I was not given the courtesy of that option. Additionally, I was retroactively informed that WM will continue to automatically bill your credit card indefinitely. Beyond contacting customer service and canceling service, the customer is responsible for contacting their credit card and stopping auto payments. Seriously. They make no mention of this when you call to cancel your service. This practice is sketchy at best, bordering on illegal. I eventually talked to Brad Nation and he took no responsibility for them not contacting me when WM was not able to pick up the trash cans as scheduled. Apparently, I was supposed to stand out in the alley and watch over the trash cans until at some point when it was convenient for them to swing by and get them. It is my opinion that WMDID pick up my trash cans and and they are charging me anyways. Nobody wants your trash cans, WM. I highly recommend using Republic Services for your trash. They were able to do a final pickup of my trash cans, final billing, and cancel my account on the agreed date and it only took one phone call. UPDATE: Again I have had to call Waste Management. They billed my account for another $ 270 this month even though the account shows that they received payment for this amount just last month. Apparently I get to spend the rest of my life calling Waste Management once a month to dispute charges no matter how long ago I cancelled service with them.

So, I cancelled service on July 6 and they have yet to pick up my trash can rental out front. Was also just notified that I will get no refund of my quarterly payment that was deducted a couple of days before cancellation. What a racket.
