The downstairs restaurant part has a WONDERFUL ambiance. Beautiful. The food is good too, not a wide selection, but it’s so nice and cute. Great place for dates! The only thing I will say is they told us we couldn’t have more breadsticks(which are AMAZING) because they were going to run out. Maybe my husband and I are just fatty’s/carb-o-Holics but it was kinda sad.

We’ve given this restaurant too many chances. We’ve had raw chicken and flavorless food. Also super overpriced for this a restaurant that looks the fine dining part, and disappoints. Springville needs a nice restaurant. As a side note, Magelbys fresh is much better.

I’ve been here twice for company work parties. The food was okay, not good but okay. I might be giving it more credit than is deserved because it was free, and free food usually tastes better. So that’s not saying much. Now, I’ll admit that when they are serving an entire party of 50+ people, they probably have to cut some corners that smaller groups wouldn’t experience. But, the food just did not make me want to come back.

Not a good night for one of my favorite restaurants. They messed up on our reservations, and the hostess was less than apologetic. Service and food were good(except for the crusty dry chocolate cake) but not good enough to have them overcharge us by $ 19.

Terrible. Made a reservation for 20 on my sisters birthday. When making the reservation they did not know what a «spirits menu» was. I had to explain it was beer and wine. The said«yeah but not a lot.» Should have been my first red flag. Got to the restaurant and some of our party members had dropped out and we were a smaller group. Asked if we could move some tables to accommodate a different size party. The manager walks towards us and complains that the tables will block the server walkway and they have lots of parties and cannot accommodate us. Very rude and unprofessional. Waited 30minutes for water 45 for wine and beer. Over 1 hour for food. What a horrible experience. Will not bring a group or recommend this restaurant. Ordered the salmon. Food was over priced for the Grotto Menu and the salmon was fishy and over cooked. All of our meals semi-warm and mediocre. No member of the group was impressed with the food.

Brandon was THEMAN! Brought my girlfriend here tonight! We had the best time! Super awesome ambiance, great food, incredibly kind people… It seriously was great. Brandon was our waiter, and we lucked out. Super personable, knowledgable and spent the perfect amount of time with us! Not too much, not too little. I was really impressed by him and this place! I definitely recommend it! I had the blackened chicken Alfredo and my girlfriend got the breaded shrimp! Great portions! Oh and make sure you get the artichoke dip for an appetizer! 5 stars! Thanks for a great experience! Sky

We used Magleby’s to cater our wedding, and the service was friendly and professional from start to finish! We ate in the restaurant to try some of the dishes and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our budget for our wedding dinner was a bit tight, but the staff was able to recommend delicious dishes with extra touches that made a huge difference in the style of our reception without spiking up the price. We loved the breadsticks and the chocolate cake! At our reception, the service staff was terrific. One guy even helped cut our wedding cake, which wasn’t in the contract but was so helpful!

The restaurant is open and airy but the food and service are terrible. We ordered the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. There were more shrimp than expected but the sauce was watered down Ketchup. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and there was no flavor at all to the meal. I asked for mashed potatoes and got over cooked seasonal vegetables. By the time they brought my mashed potatoes over I was done with the entrée. My husband ordered the Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad. The salmon wasn’t blackened at all and was a little rubbery. Our daughter ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce.(One of three kids items on the menu). It was served cold and the shredded cheese on top wasn’t melted. Two of the dinner salads arrived 5 minutes after the entrees arrived. Everytime we asked for something such as a beverage, a fork, extra dressing or a food item the wait staff had to go downstairs to get it. It took forever to get anything. The spaghetti sauce was out of a jar, the blue cheese dressing was ranch dressing with a small amount of blue cheese thrown in it. The Caesar dressing had no flavor what so ever. I will also point out that the manager made his rounds 4 times while we were dining. Not once did he stop at our table to check on us, but he did stop at the other 5 occupied tables to check on the customers. As we were departing the manager said«thanks for coming in and I hope everything was great» I mentioned that he intentionally avoided us while dining because he knew we were not happy with the service and the food. He said he knew nothing about it and wanted to know what was going on. He listened to our complaint, but he lacked sincerity and concern. I believe he is used to customers complaining. he didn’t have much to offer other than saying«sorry». Our bill was $ 65+ for two adults and a small child. I would never complain if the food was good, but I’m guessing I could have had a better meal at a fast food restaurant over this place. In all my years eating out(4x a week at upper scale restaurants, this is only the second negative review I have ever written. This restaurant is over rated and over priced. The service is horrible and then they’re inexperienced.

Great place with a small town homey feel. I came during the lunch hour and ordered the chicken club. The sandwich was excellent, avocado was fresh, the bacon was thick and flavorful, and french fries were amazing. This is a small town and the staff was on par with what you would expect. They weren’t zipping around the restaurant barking orders at each other like you would find in a busy city during lunch hour. They took there time and were polite which was a nice change of pace from what I typically experience in Houston, TX where I live.

This place blew me away! We came on the night they had the Prime Rib and Seafood buffet! It was spectacular!!! They had crab legs, salmon stuffed with lobster and a crab sauce on top, shrimp, prime rib, and a huge dessert bar!!! We will for sure be back!!! Thank you for a fabulous evening!

Terrible service! Just walked out of the Restaurant after sitting in the waiting area for 10 mins, without one acknowledgement. At least 6 employees walked by and didn’t bother to help me… totally ignored. If I could post this review without giving you a star, I would :-)

I’m between a two and a three here and let me explain why. First we got the Bruschetta, something we love. It was literally a couple of crostini with shredded mozzarella out of a bag on top. Here’s the kicker, for $ 8 freaking bucks, you serious? Then I ordered the Halibut Oscar and my wife got the wonderful halibut. You want to know what the literal difference between the two was? Mine has some hollandaise sauce and some lump crab on top. Same size of halibut as my wife’s, just a little bit of sauce and crab on top, the price difference? Her’s was $ 18, mine was $ 28! A ten dollar delta for sauce and airtime bit of crab. My father in law ordered the prime rib. After 30 minutes of waiting for our food they came and let him know that they were all out, 30 minutes! I was disappointed, I used to work at Magleby’s fresh in Draper about a decade ago, so I really looked forward to the food I had remembered from years ago. This wasn’t it.

My wife and I visited Maglebys about a month ago and we were absolutely delighted. First of all, the ambiance of the Grotto downstairs is great. We loved our meals, I got the filet mignon, she got the prime rib. It was cooked the way we asked and then it was time for dessert. The chocolate cake is divine. We will keep coming back to Maglebys!

They have gone downhill since moving from the Riverwoods location. The sauces were bland(their marinara used to be my favorite anywhere) & the pasta was over-cooked. I have always been a fan so it’s been disappointing to see.

Overrated and way overpriced. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and it quite honestly was terrible. I would eat Chick-Fil-A’s salad over that and pay half the price. The chicken was mangled and dark with pink in the center. Maybe it was an off night, but I probably won’t return.

Magelbys catered my wedding. They did a great job. With dozens of affordable options we put together a nice menu.(Their artichoke dip appetizer was my favorite). The food was displayed well and the food was tasty and fresh. I would recommend Magelbys for any catering event.

I love magleby’s food! Love that everything is made from scratch. The building is so beautiful. This is seriously the only place my husband and I can eat steak. The owner and chef really cares about your experience and makes sure you leave happy :)

Update: I heard their prime rib had been upgraded recently, so my wife and I stopped in to check out the Grotto. What did I think? Yes, it was excellent – a perfect medium rare, juicy, tender, great temperature, good crust, not too much fat, good size(twelve ounce) excellent au jus and horseradish… The rolls were better than my last visit as well. The cake was good, as always, and the service was quiet, helpful, and knowledgable. We went early so it wasn’t too busy, and were able to chat with the chef about our favorite local restaurants, fois gras, whether the French Laundry is worth the price of admission, Gordon Ramsey, etc. All in all, a great time and great food. Tip: One note, however. While I liked the Mediterranean onion soup, it was pretty salty. Next time I’ll opt for the salad when I’m getting something like Prime Rib to contrast the savory flavors with something crisp and fresh.

This restaurant tries to be a fine dining steakhouse and ultimately I think they succeed. .. at café-bistro style diner. The service is friendly but uninformed, the food was okay and in some cases terrible, and the atmosphere most closely resembles Greek café. I was quite disappointed that they were out of prime rib at 7 p.m. Prime rib was the primary reason I made the trip to Springville to try Mageleby’s. Instead we tried other entrees and were disappointed. We briefly spoke with the manager on the way out to praise our server and express our disappointment with the nearly inedible entrees. He listened to our opinion, but in my opinion he lacked sincerity and concern. Ultimately, it appeared he was used to customers disliking the flavor of the food and poor quality, and he didn’t have much to offer in way of empathy for a wasted evening and wasted money. CUSTOMERSERVICE Our waitress was great. She was very friendly and welcoming. She was quick and helpful with our requests and needs. She was relatively new to the restaurant and was not entirely familiar with the menu, but she was willing to go find answers. As far as she is concerned she did great. As for the restaurant, they need to train their staff and provide training for each item on the menu to present a professional and polished staff. ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere was eclectic and interesting while oddly misplaced. It reminded me of a Greek diner in Queens, NY. The food and menu do not match the décor and atmosphere. MENU The menu appears to present fine dining and top quality steaks. I found the menu easy to navigate and the choices appetizing. We ordered: baked brie appetizer, house salads, filet oscar, land and sea petite filet, chocolate cake(total bill $ 81 + tax and tip) Appetizer The baked brie was presented well and tasted okay. The plate contents was mismatched. The brie could have been a higher quality aged brie and/or more ripe brie. Salads The salads were uninspired and relatively plain. Though the house dressings were well made and tasted good. Entrée SALT!!! Really, a day later and salt is still the only thing I can taste. I am avoiding anything with salt for fear of bringing back the brine seasoning flavor that my entrée had. My wife’s steak was well-done(ordered medium rare) My steak was perfectly cooked(ordered medium rare) The rice was terrible(unless you like rice o roni which I don’t) The crab was. .. well. .. I think it was pickled cabbage slathered in salt — a lot of salt. Dessert The chocolate cake is always good. VALUE The entire meal for two came to $ 81 plus tax and tip. The steaks are very overpriced for the quality and lack of kitchen knowledge, or more likely the managements lack of willingness to listen to the kitchen staff, of how to season an entrée. Assuming the entire meal was not ruined by the box of salt served with my entrée, this would completely meet my expectations for a corner café with corner café pricing. This was not fine dining and this was not steakhouse quality food. Management and ownership need to listen to their culinary experts regarding complementing flavors and proper seasonings. Unless something seriously changes at Magleby’s, I will only return for their chocolate cake desserts.
