I haven’t been back to Haven Center for some time: actually, since 2003 when I became attuned as a Reiki Master. I can say that the knowledge of Reiki and its utilization was powerful for me. It has helped me help others(human and animal) and myself, many times over, and for that I’m immensely grateful. But what I have more recently learned, and more seem to be getting on the band wagon, is the intense incorporation of raw foods in the diet. I never thought I could do it; and enjoy it in the process. Am I totally and utterly a raw foodie? No, but after those first couple of weeks(which are absolute sludge to detox) your body actually feels better, you feel better, and you start to look luminous. The Haven treatments and classes are not cheap; some are geared strictly for licensed massage therapists; some require advanced knowledge or background. But, if you are into holism, nutrition, homeopathic or naturalistic options for your health, check them out. And their massage therapists are awesome.

About eight years ago I gave these people a hefty sum of money – and I mean hefty – for hypnosis training: two courses, beginning and advanced. A few years later I started really studying Advanced stuff with a really incredible teacher and I suddenly realized how little Haven did for the thousands of bucks I gave them. The stuff Haven(the Mitchells) taught me was stuff that beginners should NEVER do when hypnotizing people while some of the essential basics of hypnosis were completely left out of the curriculum. In fact, they couldn’t have designed a better ‘what-not-to-do’ course if they tried. That’s not really what annoys me, though. Fast forward to now – eight years later. The American Board of Experimantal and Advanced Trance Sciences wants me for a position in their organization but they wanted to see my hypnosis certs. from the original classes I took. I needed new copies because I didn’t have the originals so I called Haven to see if I could get them. I left messages – you ALWAYS have to leave messages with Haven because they don’t answer their phones. No response. I called them again. And again. And again. Weeks go by and no responses. I cannot tell you how unprofessional these people are. Finally, ABEATS contacted them by email and convinced them to call me about the certifications. When the guy from Haven calls me he’s pissed that I don’t have the exact dates when I took their class. Then he starts griping at me that he’s gotta spend an entire afternoon going thru old calendars to find out when I attended. They’re required by the state to keep records so I ‘m not sure what his problem is. Finally, in his annoyance, he takes my name and address then hangs up. He sends me the papers, then sends me an exorbitant bill. He never told me they cost that much to replace and I never agreed to pay him this amount. Now, I’m really annoyed that I’ve given them thousands of dollars for crap services and they’re trying to gig me for some quick cash which they seem to think they’re entitled to even though I never agreed to pay it. These people are flakes. They’re mediocre teachers and extremely bad business people with a take-the-money-and-run philosophy.
