We are so relieved we thought to call this store after a horrible experience at the Wheaton location(I left a review there, please check if out if you’re interested). After receiving no considerate, patient customer service at the Wheaton LensCrafters and spending nearly $ 200 on just a pair of frames that were dented, I called this St. Charles location immediately after leaving the Wheaton store. Sarah and Lyn(I believe were their names, Lyn was the manager) were extremely helpful. Just when calling, Sarah located the exact frame we had just purchased, found a pair in excellent condition, and put them aside for us. When we arrived they couldn’t believe how poor our experience was in Wheaton and did an exchange for us, as the other pair(literally purchased 45 minutes earlier) was damaged. Sarah even showed us the correct tool to use to bend glasses so they don’t leave huge dents. Someone should show that girl over in Wheaton… clearly she doesn’t know. They were very kind at this location and explained everything in better detail for us, including what the different exams included and their prices(at Wheaton we were told«$ 59(I think was the price) for a basic exam.» — that’s all we knew.), and Sarah was very patient with us despite how flustered we were when we arrived. They also had a really nice selection of frames and sunglasses and we are looking forward to visiting with them again.

Don’t go to this location. They don’t know any thing and the make up excuses for having you wait 2 hours beyond your appt time. Happened to me twice. Will never go back there ever!!!

Initially I went to the LensCrafters in South Elgin; however, they suggested I schedule an appointment at this location because I wanted the glasses quickly. I did as suggested with an appointment in the morning expecting the glasses would be ready by the end of the day. After I drove to this location and after the exam started they said the glasses would take a few days as they were backed up due to the holidays. My issue is I wish they would have said upfront the turnaround time would be much longer than normal. I suggest you confirm just prior to your exam that they will be able to complete their services as advertised.

Normally I’d knock a glasses review. This is just something that the visually challenged must deal with, whether we like it or not. Let’s face it, in two weeks/months we’ll curse the day we ever bought the ugly glasses we picked. Or maybe it’s just me. However this experience was actually enjoyable. Rather than just wanting to get in and run out, I actually had a nice conversation with the woman who assisted me. Not only that, but she remembered me the next day when I came to pick up my new spiffy frames. Another bonus to this place is that they actually sell brands I’ve heard of. Did you know sketchers sells glasses? Because I didn’t until I visited some other glasses place. Ray Bans? Tiffany? Chanel? Lenscrafters has them. They even have a scary looking machine that takes your picture in order to custom fit your new specs to your face. Bonus: I hear they have frequent 30−50% off sales. WIN!
