The patio is nice, though a bit noisy because it’s right on Main st. The menu is decent. The problem is that EVERYTHING is tasteless. We had the Boss Burger, and the fish tacos, among a few other dishes. Everything was the same: tasteless. It’s a shame because the dished are well prepared but they don’t use any seasoning, species; not even salt and pepper. Probably a nice place for just a drink; But we won’t go back for food. That’s unfortunate.

Went here for a nice lunch with my daughter sat outside took a while for server to come to our table. no bus boys with water? Finally got to place our order since it took so long to place our order we ordered app and lunch at same time. took at least 20 or so mins to get app. in the mean time other tables sat and waited 10⁄15 mins to even be noticed… a large table of ladies were sitting in center area… I saw her bring their food out 2 at a time for a large group some ladies were finished when others were just getting their orders. then they say there for at least another 20+ with empty glasses and dirty plates in front of them. again bus boys?!? Do other servers help each other out. running food refills or clearing tables? Sooo… then about 25 mins later we got our lunch after I asked for it of course. my daughters chicken sandwich was PINK! Seriously. wtf? And my wrap I ordered with«shrimp» for $ 6 extra give me a break maybe 4 diced pieces for six extra dollars makes it a 14 wrap and it’s terrible!!! Asked for manager to speak to. she was the rudest person/manager to ever deal with a complaint! Can’t believe how it was handled and will never ever be back not even if u paid me! Was there over a hour awful service horrible food and terrible management!!! Can’t believe how my nice lunch ended up… good luck! See lots of bad Reviews in the past few days. not surprised at all!

The food was decent, nothing special. The service was HORRIBLE. Our drinks took over 20 minutes to get served to us. We then asked for sugar for our iced tea, we never got it. We ordered a normal mojito and a strawberry one. The girl brought us both strawberry and disappeared for another 25 minutes. We got to ordering appetizers and that’s all we had the patience for after waiting an hour for all of our drinks alike to get to us. Never going here again and wouldn’t suggest it.

Stopped in at 4:30 on Sunday, party of 4, no reservations! Told we had to sit at a shared table because they were crowded, OK! Several open tables for four and we asked if we could have one, «no they are reserved.» During the 15 minutes we waited, while no one offered us water menus or any attention we noticed several people move from the shared tables to the so-called reserved tables after talking to a waitress. When a party of four laughed we asked the hostess if we could have their table and she again told us «no»! No service after 15 minutes and discrimination as to who gets the tables we walked out, never to return again and we live local! Guess our money wasn’t good enough for them!

No flavor on the filet raw green beans soggy broccoli dry potatoes and waitress with an attitude means no return for us. The place seems to have no management there. The hostess sat us at a table and a waitress came up yelling at her to not seat us or anyone there and continued to yell at her back at the hostess stand n front of us. So 2 very polite hostesses and 2 bad servers. Who owns this place? Too many other good restaurants to go to in town.

Just tried to make reservations for a large group tomorrow night. Was refused because they had to save tables for walkins. Save your money. Go elsewhere. Huge selection of better places in St Charles and Geneva. And much better customer service

Horrible service and horrible food. Brown lettuce and rotten tomato in my salad. I could get a better salad at Wendy’s. Chicken was also cooked horrible. Could not eat it.

My retirement party was held here on 3⁄15. The event was scheduled with the Office more than a month in advance. Upon arriving, my event was crossed off a sign, and the Office double booked the spaced that we reserved. How embarrassing… way to make me feel honored, Office. The GM on duty indicated that WE should have confirmed. WHAT? First of all, we booked the space well in advance and in follow up emails indicated no advance food, second no one asked for confirmation, third, YOU are the hospitality business, you want our business I presume, YOU confirm… period. We had one server and she was phenominal, the only positive of the night. Event started at 6, and upwards of 50 people attended at peak. Then they call last call before 10pm with more than 30 people still at event who were ordering drinks frequently. At this point we were happy to relocate to local competitor, and they were happy to receive us. Nice job Office. Plenty of pending retirees from our organization. We won’t be back. BTW do not order the lemon chicken or the ceviche. There’s no lemon flavor with chicken, not even a lemon wedge on the dish, and no acidity in ceviche… it’s ceviche, there must be acidity… Who is running your food program? Horrible dishes… Too bad I can’t give you zero stars.

The food is weak, but it’s nice for a drink. Decent service and appealing crowd. They also have a nice outside seating area for when the weather is better.

Love The Office. Been here a few times now and have enjoyed each dish I’ve tried. Their soft pretzels and nachos are great. Burgers are delicious. Ruben is phenomenal. They have a standard size and a 1 pounder… It’s a seriously generous portion! Their side salad is quality lettuce. Only issue I had was that we were charged a $ 2 split plate fee for sharing our Reuben. However… we ordered appetizers, each had a separate salad and we were drinking. I could understand if we only ordered the main meal and nothing else but with the extra food we ordered and the drinks, really feel the split plate charge was not warranted.

I’ve been here several times because I like the location and the pretzel bread but I will no longer dine here. I’ve said this before after experiences with their less than ok food but this time I was mortified by the unprofessional behavior of the hostess. These girls guess at wait times and are sometimes rude. I attempted to dine at The Office a few weeks ago with my 6 year old and I was told there were parties in the outside eating area and the dining room. This left only the bar which is not a great place for kids to dine. I told the hostess that there should be a sign and she literally mocked me as I walked away. There are better places in St Charles to eat — I would suggest you go elsewhere for a great meal and experience.

I searched for an affordable place to eat lunch for my mom’s birthday. I found this place, right off of Main St and right next to a a parking garage. It is within reasonable distance of the walking path next to the river. The restaurant is right next to all the traffic coming through the town, so anticipate a lots of noise and pollution when sitting outside. In true St Charles fashion, the building matches the style of the early 20th century. The patio is beautiful and the landscaping helps muffle some of the street noise. The service was great at lunch time. My parents and I received our meals within 15 minutes of ordering. I had the pulled pork nachos, which really could have fed 2 – 3 people. The prices are a steal; I think I paid $ 30 total including drinks and tip.

The outdoor patio here boasts an array of fire along each table. It’s worth the visit just to see that if nothing else. The service was good, the beer selection was decent, and the place is large with plenty of games on tv. Four stars for that. However, the hummus arrived with cheese sprinkled on top, and my Vegan friends were unhappy about that, so ask for no cheese if that matters to you. The chips and salsa were lackluster, though edible. If I go back, I’ll try the onion rings, and I’ll definitely sit outside again.

This place used to have great food and great service. The food was medicore at best. The menu used to have quality food now it’s just typical bar fare food. I ordered a cheeseburger and specifically told my server«NOPICKLENOTOMATONOLETTUCE» I ordered a cheeseburger well done. My cheeseburger came out it had a pickle and tomato on a stick on the top of the bun. I told the food runner to send it back because of the pickle and tomato. He brought the cheeseburger back however he just took the pickle and tomato and brought it back. I sent it back I told him i needed a new top on the bun he actually shrugged his shoulders and said something under his breath. Then when I got my cheeseburger it was rare so I had to send it back and after I got my new cheeseburger. It was done correctly. My server was hardly in sight. Medicore food medicore service.

We’d been trying to get into the office for a while and there is always a long wait, which we took as a good sign. When we finally got a table on the patio we were underwhelmed to say the least. The food here is simply not good and definitely not aligned to the«gastro pub» prices. The service was also below par. The one saving grace is the outdoor ambiance but that will not be enough to bring us back. The Office falls well short of expectations and there are plenty of other places in town to get bar food.

Service was good, atmosphere nice but the food was 50 – 50 We had the Reuben, tasty. Pretzels super buttery or greasy, the cheese sauce did not taste right. I love cheese and the texture was so weird I couldn’t do it. The Mac -& cheese looked amazing but it was pretty bland, no flavor. I brought it home and added tweaked it ;) The patio looked really nice.

This place used to be great! Not anymore. It has a beautiful patio, but that’s about it. I called in advanced to make reservations for a larger group. After having a difficult time being accommodated for, I asked the worker if I should just consider another restaurant. She said yes. Wow! Not good for business. I will not be stepping foot in this place again.

Atmosphere and character– 5 stars Food– 3.5 stars Service– 2 stars. This building with all of its history is beautiful, inside and out– intricate wood floors, old photographs, nice booths. The patio was large and well laid out. It had multiple tall, rectangular fire pits, high and low tables. I got stuck with a high top wire chair that was starting to fall apart, which was a little less than comfortable, so I think the could’ve done some quality checks to see what chairs needed updating or repair. All the food I saw looked good. I ordered the tropical chicken salad– spring mix(thank goodness– no iceberg in site!) topped with pineapple, grilled jerk chicken, and tortilla strips. The salad was pretty good, quite large– actually too large for the plate. I made a mess everywhere while trying to eat it. Service was slow. Our waiter kept disappearing for long periods of time, leaving us to find an extra menu, extra place setting, and hunt him down for the check. Drink refills and food delivery was also a bit slower than expected. I really wouldn’t have minded if we didn’t have a deadline to be somewhere else, but on this day, it was annoying. I would give it one more try if back in the area.

I was traveling to Chicago for work last week and the client I was visiting was by St. Charles. My co-workers and I stopped by the office that had been recommended to us for dinner. We wanted to sit outside because of the heated seating, the table had a horizontal fire that was giving off heat but not enough. Despite the unexpected chilly weather the atmosphere was gorgeous. They had pitchers of sangria(that could’ve been stronger but were pretty cheap) the food though was unbelievable! We had the nachos for appetizer which had cheese on the bottom(I hate when the bottom chips are so dry.) I had their Beet salad for dinner and it was amazing! The staff was great too even though we had a big group. We also got the s’mores dessert which let us melt our own s’more sandwhich which made a cute ending. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone in the downtown area of St. Charles !
