Totally Cool Makeup

Kelly is a true artist! She originally did my brows 9 years ago, just had them re– enhanced and updated to new feathery natural brows. Wow! I feel amazing!!!

Permanent makeup is a decision one should not make without thinking it through and doing some research. Two years ago, at age 48, my eyebrows started thinning. I started reading up on «Permanent Makeup» with the hope I could find a good artist to help restore my brows with a «natural look». That is when I stumbled upon Kelly’s Totally Cool Makeup site.
I went in for my consultation feeling nervous – after all, I had never even had a tattoo placed in a hidden spot much less had permanent makeup etched into my face! Once I sat down, explained to Kelly what I was looking for in my brows and she carefully listened, I realized I had found the right «artist».
Like an artist, she measured my face, helped me select colors, she spoke to me about shape of my brow and she even PAINTED on the color and shape so I could make the final choice of shape on my own; I appreciated this as it gave me the visual I needed to feel confident that I would end up with what I wanted.
I started with a more conservative approach. a lighter color and not as thick at first. I went in 4 weeks later for my «touch up (included in the price) and Kelly added dimension with a deeper color. I loved it. Since that time, two years ago, I went in again recently to add color, dimension and shape.
Now at 50, my brows are more beautiful than ever! I am an athlete and fitness instructor who walks around most often with no make up – I run, swim and sweat a lot! And still, most people have NO IDEA my brows are «permanent makeup». I truly recommend Kelly – she has helped me to put my best face forward!

I don’t recommend Kelly. Based in a friend’s referral, I went for the consultation appointment, completed the paperwork and scheduled to have my eyebrows done in «permanent makeup.» I went to the appointment, driving 30 min out of my way after work in a Saturday, to find a note in the door. Kelly had to take her son to basketball and hadn’t bothered to call me at the number I have her on the paperwork. I called her and greatly apologized, offered a big discount and rescheduled for the next day. All went ok and the «touch up» appointment occurred when scheduled. I needed another touch up and was told it would cost $ 50 set up fee. Reluctantly I agreed and we met for that appointment at the other place she works in Schaumburg. She said she wanted me to be happy and to call if I needed another appointment. Within a few days I could see that it wasn’t quite even and I called for another appointment. 1 hour before that appointment she cancelled stating that her other appointment before me had cancelled and it wasn’t worth her driving in for just mine and that she was driving to do her friend’s eyeliner in Crystal Lake instead. We rescheduled at the same location for yesterday. I went to the appointment only to find that she had already left for the day. I texted her and she didn’t respond. I texted her again later in the day that «I am disappointed.» She only texted back «ok.» MY EYEBROWS ARE UNEVEN! Now what?

Kelly did an awesome job on my eyebrows they turned out beautiful! I like it so much I’m going back to have my eyeliner done next!
