Now called UBeer– We decided to have a Valentines Day dinner there. Warm gastropub atmosphere with friendly staff! I had THE Burger and it was the best burger I have had in ages with port wine cheese, bacon, and jalapenos cooked exactly as I ordered! While I am not a beer person, they had wonderful selection of Valentine’s Day martinis and old fashioned specials that appealed. Give the new owner a try!

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Our server was nice. I came back for the Ball Buster Burger which I had first tasted in July of 2012. It was mouth watering but today’s visit wasn’t as great as last time. The burger sauce was bland and it had 2 jalapeños on it. It seemed like their prices went up since last time. I had a cocktail that was about 3 oz. for $ 7 which I found pretty pricey for that little amount.

Wow. I love Attebury’s. The food is great and it has one of the best GLUTENFREE menus on the south shore. I go there so much that I guess I’m now a «regular” – it’s a place where everybody knows your name, to steal from a favorite 80s comedy. There is always great beer on tap, including Kentucky Bourbon Barrel and a rotating list of exceptional microbrews. Fish fry, back when I could eat it, was always great, and my hubby still orders it. Wednesday night trivia at the bar, Packers games on the tube, a pleasingly warm and mellow-lit atmosphere, absolutely lovely management and service staff, and a fantastic patio that faces the lakeside.

Rumor has it that all Licenses attached to Attebury’s Pub and Eatery will have a change in ownership. I do not know if the new owners are keeping the name or doing something completely new and different. I will update again is I know more information.

Seems that the dust has settled following their management change. The service has really improved, the manager is friendly, accommodating and really seems to be leading this place in a better direction again. After avoiding coming here for a few months we have been really pleased since we returned and are back to stopping in for a pint or two almost weekly. Some new menu items(especially the jalapeño balls with avocado cream!) are pretty amazing and addictive.

I was looking forward to going go the Attebury because I drive past it all the time but have never been in there for food. The décor is very cool and almost had a homey feel, which I really liked. The service was decent although it took forever to even get a refill on a soda when I was sitting at the bar. And then it came to me ordering food — I ordered what I figured would be extremely easy(and quick) to make, their version of the BLT. It took roughly 45 — 60 minutes to get my food and at that point, I was almost ready to cancel my order and just go home. The guy next to me waited roughly an hour to get his wings — ANHOUR! I think the table behind me — the people came in and ordered after I did — got their food before I did. I wanted to like this place but just based on how long I had to wait for food, I don’t know if I will be back.

It’s a nice pub in a nice area, decided to have lunch there with a friend. I had the fish fry and he had the Attebury burger, the fish was cooked well and had a great beer batter the burger looked amazing with bacon, cheddar and fried jalapeño on a pretzel bun, but we both agreed that the fries were just ok not bad but not the best. The have great selection of beers on tap with a nice balance on import and domestic micro brews. Over all I will definitely be back.

We started out at the bar as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Beer selection was good and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. When we did move to a table, the wait staff was attentive. Gave us plenty of time to talk, yet made sure we were taken care of. We all ordered something different, and everyone seemed pleased with their meal. Burger, fish, grilled cheese, porky pig, and a pizza. All well received. I plan to go back in the summer to sit on the patio.

The 2nd Friday Fish Fry of Lent 2013 takes me to Attebury’s Pub in St. Francis. Small parking lot that hold about 10 cars or less. There is street parking available. It seems to be the only restaurant/bar in the area so I don’t see parking being an issue. It also has a beer garden which I would think would be pretty busy during the spring and summer months. We went right after work on Friday and arrived around 5:30 pm. We got seated immediately in the«Library» section of the pub. They had just changed the menu that day and our server — Mike — was very knowledgeable of the Fish Frys. They had two choices — an pan fried cod on one side with breadcrumbs and then finished in the oven and a fried beer batter for $ 12.95. You have your choice of potato — fries or potato pancakes(50 cents more) with applesauce. You also get your standard butter, lemon, and rye bread. We started off with a bowl of New England clam chowder($ 5.50 for a bowl). It is one of the better chowders I have had in while — good taste with lots of vegetables and clams. For the fish fry my wife ordered the ½ pan fried ½ baked cod with fries. I ordered the fried — of course. ½ pan ½ baked cod had that nice flaky fish texture and not dried out. My beer battered fish had the best beer batter I have ever had on it. The chef should give a lesson to other restaurants who do beer batter fish frys — the batter didn’t dominate the fish fry, the fish was the star. Now the disappointing part of the fish fry, the potato pancakes. I was probably spoiled from last week’s Kegel’s Inn potato pancakes. Attebury’s gives you ONE pancake made of shredded tasteless potatoes. The best part of the pancakes was the applesauce. The fries, cole slaw and rye bread were your standard for a fish fry — not spectacular, just okay. I finished the meal with a bowl of vanilla ice cream($ 2.75). Overall the experience was okay with the highlights being the service, the clam chowder and the fish. Disappointments of the experience were the price of the fish fry for the amount of food you get — most places that charge $ 12.95 are usually AYCE — and the potato pancakes. I will probably go back again to see what they have to offer but it won’t be for the fish fry…

A decent place hidden down in St. Francis. They have a good looking menu and a good selection of beer. I have only been in once and had their wings at the bar. Wings were pretty good with some inventive sauces. There are a group of regulars that tend to congregate at the bar giving it more of a small corner tap feeling. But, then you have to remember you are in St. Francis. I asked about brunch and the owner went into a lecture about how he despises the term«brunch». But, what I took out of the conversation is that they offer a lunch menu that includes eggs and Bloody Mary’s. It is worth trying if you are in the area.

Initial thoughts. Interior décor is nice. If I would have ever built my own pub it would be something similar to this with a bigger library section. I arrived while some people I knew were leaving. I asked them how it was and they seemed overall quite happy with the results. As i talked with them I noted they they had popcorn on the table. What makes me note this? After they left I had to wait a bit for two others to join us. Outside of our drinks we weren’t offered that popcorn which would have been nice. If you didn’t notice it yet they have a dinner and lunch menu and they do vary. One of our diners was disappointed that the meatloaf wasn’t available until around dinner time. Our server was prompt. When I asked him what he would pick between two options he gave me a straight answer. No hesitating. I like that. I got the Turkey Panini which was pretty darn good. The Cranberrys really pull it together which shouldn’t be a surprise. It’s a good fall sandwich. It was cooked perfectly. A nice slightly deep golden brown/amber toasted bread. The Attebury burger has a cheese spread and is served on a Pretzel roll(pretzilla). It looked awesome and it was confirmed tasty. Expect a more in depth review on the burger aspect. The Brisket was stuffed into a sausage bun and topped with mushrooms. I was told this was good. I was iffy about it being topped with mushrooms. I wasn’t sold on just looks alone here. Why just three stars? To be honest if the lunch menu is going to be missing those dinner items I would expect the breakfast/brunch options to be a bit more fleshed out. Whlie the cherry stuffed french toast sounds great, there were only 3 other options(Country breakfast, hash, omelet sandwich). People like breakfast/brunch items in Milwaukee and I am surprised at only 4. I would like to be here to see how tight of a ship they run when it’s busy. Fish Fry’s are served daily I am told though Friday’s are unsurprisingly busy. I was deciding between 3 and 4 stars but I am going to have to err on the side of caution. If you have never read my reviews 3 stars is good. Don’t be dissuaded by that. I will be going back. I just wasn’t blown out of the water. I wonder how often that fireplace gets lit.

Very glad to have this place near by. Definitely a great addition to St. Francis. I’ve only had wings and beer(On two occasions). Both times I was more than satisfied by the wings, the beer list, the overall company of the«regulars», and the service behind the bar. As a girl who celebrated her«Birdy 30» I claim to know a few things about wings. These are good. Big. Inventive sauces. Spot on. I totally recommend sitting at the bar and chatting with the crowd. The patio is amazing. I’ve been told they have amazing Mac and Cheese and Bloody Mary’s from the«regulars», so that is next on my list. I will keep you posted.

ORDERED: Breaded Crimini Mushrooms — $ 7, Grilled Cheese — $ 8.95, Beef Brisket Sandwich — $ 11.50, Root Beer — $ 2.25 TASTED: The BEST breaded mushrooms I’ve ever had hands down. We told our waitress how great they were and she said the«weekend breaders» in the kitchen rock it. I sent a $ 2 tip back to them. The fries and cole slaw were above average — I think cole slaw is a good barometer for how much a place cares about details. My brisket sandwich contained some pretty fatty, too chewy pieces so I ended up pulling apart the edible pieces with my bare fingers. The grilled cheese sandwich was really good using bold red tomatoes and quality cheeses. I like that Attebury’s serves whole grain mustard on the side. SERVICE: We sat outside and our waitress took great care of us.

I’m cheap and I am proud. I love getting a great deal, and Attebury’s is an execellent choice for a filling, solid meal at a reasonable price. Ordered: 1 pound of wings with Bourbon BBQ glaze Asian Empanadas Potato Nachos Creamy French Onion Soup Attebury has a great deal where appetizers are half off during happy hour so we scored the nachos and empanadas for less than ten dollars total. The wings… oh man. That sauce was crazy good. A little sweet, a little smokey, a whole lotta yummy! I really enjoyed the french onion soup, but it certainly could have been warmer. Attebury also gets MAJOR points for having my favorite drink on tap: New Glarus Cherry Stout. Sooooo yummy. Besides my fave they had many beers and ciders to choose from on tap. Altogether we paid 32 dollars for 4 plates, 2 glasses of cherry stout, and a diet coke. I would certainly go there again for happy hour, and many of their sandwiches/dinner looked really appetizing as well! Besides the food, the décor was super cute! We sat in an area that looked like someone’s home library. It had ships and knick knacks and books lining the shelves. If ever near Attebury’s again, I would stop in for some solid pub food and a great drink in an inviting atmosphere!

Food was excellent and the service was good. I had the deep fried turkey blt and it was mighty tasty! They have a lot of different types of foods from BBQ to English pub food and all seemed very appealing! They also have a large selection of beers as well. They have a huge patio and all the furniture was comfortable. The indoor décor was unique and cool. Cannot wait until our return trip!

Heard about the«Wednesday Wings» & specialty beer(s) on tap … it was a must to go & see what it’s all about. Came in after work around 5:30pm and landed at the bar with family & friends; The English pub décor is admiring & settling. I started off with a review of the extensive beer menu and chose one of the local brewery specialties. Sorry, but the name of beer escaped me. Either way, the choices were aplenty for any hops & barley specialist. After a while of jaw-jacking & laughs, the hungry-mungry’s set in and it was time to see the food menu. The wings were what I came for and that was priority one! I took a short read of the script, and ordered a pound of the«Parmesan Garlic» wings.(Now mind you, there are other specialties of food available for order. THIS menu is clear & concise … not like other places where there’s TOO many selections and decisions are a pain in the arse.) Also, FYI: They DO have a «Cool Million Wings» flavor which is a pound of wings that sport one million scoville units in heat AND a lengthy disclaimer. Maybe a name change to «Braveheart» would be in order and passing a kidney stone would be easier. Just be advised! When the nom-nom’s arrived, I was genuinely surprised at the size of the wings and the flavoring. A definite score was had! The bartender was friendly, personable and offered several recommendations of both food & drink. Nicely done! After all was said, I got a pound of wings«to go» and bid a definite return.

This was a really pleasant surprise. I didn’t hear much buzz about this place beforehand but the food is pretty great and it has a welcoming atmosphere. It reminded me of a castle when I first walked up. We walked in and found the place to have a very warm vibe to it. We tried the Bourbon and Chipotle BBQ wings for an appetizer as well as the chili. The chili was good but not great… I felt like it could’ve used a little more stock/broth to it. It tasted good but felt very much like you were just eating a bunch of meat, texture-wise. The wings were also good… but BEWARE of the Chipotle wing flavor. My confidante and I can both handle our heat(I regularly order 4 out of 4 stars at all the local Thai joints) and we thought that this flavor was absolutely blazing hot. The Confidante questioned whether we got the right flavor or not, and the waitress made a point to tell us that it was indeed the Chipotle sauce. I still don’t know if I believe her or not. She was either lying or the business is absolutely crazy to have a flavor that hot on the menu without a warning next to it. I’d imagine they’d get tons of complaints, as most people seem to have a lower tolerance for spicy food than myself and my mouth was on fire. The Shephard’s Pie entrée was perfect. It re-heated well later, too. Not much else to say about it, it was as good as I was expecting and I would order it again. The food was better than the service. The Confidante’s boytoy did the«two appetizers for my entrée» thing and specified he would take his chili along with his Asian empanadas when everyone was served their main entrée. He got the empanadas… was never updated on the chili sitch… and then when he was pretty much done with the empanadas was asked if he wanted his chili. It was weird. I don’t know if she just remembered all of a sudden that she forgot the chili or what… but why would he want the chili after everything else? The chili isn’t dessert. Boo. Service needs improvement, I regret tipping her 20%. I will be back here, but I hope I get a different waitress.

This place is a cozy little spot that I’d probably frequent a bit more if it wasn’t so far out of my way. The décor gives off a nice feeling of warmth and the food is above average. Be sure to stop in on quiz night as the quizmaster is usually good for a couple of laughs.

BEER! Pretty much any place that has Gumballhead on tap is A+ in my book. The menu looked good, and I think I like it better than the English theme the place that used to be here had. The fish fry was pretty good, and came with a huge serving of coleslaw and a rye roll, not the usual slice of rye bread. Nice patio outside as well. I will definitely stop by here next time I’m in town — it’s close to my mom’s house, and has a nice beer selection.

This used to be the Carleton Grange… The décor hasn’t changed much, but it didn’t have to — it was the food that needed improvement and improve they did. The menu is pretty traditional pub fare, but it’s well executed. There was 7 of us who ate there tonight, and not a bad dish in the group. Their appetizers seem to be where they get creative — I only had the corn dogs(made with sausage), but am eager to go back and try the rest. Finally, there was an interesting selection of beer — good stuff that you aren’t going to find many other places. It officially opens May 21 but you can visit them now.
