The ambiance is great but the food in not good. My family loves all types of Mediterranean food but none of us could eat more than a few bites of our meals. The food was incredibly heavy and was served up using ice cream scoops. We got falafels and pasta — two things you can’t foul up, but they did. Also, if you pay by credit card they do it all through an iPad which is weird but to top it off, while my server was putting the info into the iPad she asked me if I was going to leave a tip. I said yes and then she had the gall to ask me how much I was going to leave so she could input it to the iPad. We will never be back.

We stopped here on a road trip and yes, maybe we were tired and impatient and our kids were too but the service just wasn’t good. It took forEVER to get our food, our drinks, our check… everything seemed like an inconvenience. The food was pretty good. We had dolmades(stuffed grape leaves), avgolemono soup, and a lamb kabob that were good but the hummus and pita was disappointing. Greek restaurants should make their own pita… that’s just my personal opinion. It’s bad when you’re serving chewy cardboard pita from the store as a starter. I guess I expected more and was more disappointed because I love Greek food so much.

The broiled scollops and the stuffed Ahi Ahi are two of the best sea food dishes found in Utah Flown in weekly from the coast, prepped with a unique home recipe wine sauce and served over a bed of rice. I bring my Grandmother here at least three times a week to enjoy Basila’s Greek atmosphere and attentive staff.

Terrible. Food was overcooked, oily and cold, but the service was worse. The waitress was new and most likely stoned. She frequently had strange and unnecessary outbursts throughout the dinner. I’m pretty sure the only way this place stays afloat is as a front for drug smuggling.

It’s not easy to find good Greek food. I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is small but the food is amazing. Get the flaming cheese!

We ate here on our way from Zion Park to Las Vegas, and wanted something different from typical Mexican fare. We had the gyro, new world steak, flaming cheese, and a small Greek salad. The food was great, and the portions were large enough that we couldn’t finish it all. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. When they first brought out our flaming cheese, the lighter didn’t work; a man(who we’re guessing was the owner) insisted that they bring out another flaming cheese(for no additional charge of course) so it could be done properly with the flame and an «Opppa!» He checked on us several times, and was very gracious. He obviously cares that his customers have a good experience, which is always appreciated. We’ll definitely return if we’re in the area again!

Pros: The food was great, if and when we got it. Cons: The flaming cheese is supposed to come with bread but they never brought us bread. Later in the meal we even asked for bread to go with our meal and they said they would bring bread but never did. We never once received a refill on our waters the entire meal. They were having a special on wines that night and I felt like everyone around us who was drinking wine got much much better service and more attention from the entire staff and even from our waitress. The dining room is small and we were shoved in a small corner table that was tight and uncomfortable. The room was so tight that the servers were all tripping over and around each other the whole meal as well. Once the experience was finally coming to and end, I asked for the bill and ten minutes later we had still not received it. We were trapped, or so it seemed, the whole night in that little corner. After we were tired or waiting for the bill and watching our server tend to the other guests for 10 minutes while ignoring our request for the bill, we walked to the front and paid after someone else calculated our bill. Like I said in the beginning, the food was excellent. If you don’t mind very poor service in a tight little room then you should give it a try. We had the flaming cheese, stuffed grap leaves, chicken curry and spinach pie. All were tasty, even though we never got our bread.

My husband and I went here on a Friday night date. We arrived around 6 p.m. No one was there besides us the entire time… before or after our arrival. The food is a bit pricey for the small and bland servings offered. The décor is nice and we loved having the entire restaurant to ourselves. the service was ok… though no one ever came back to see if we wanted anything. Not impressed with the semi-Greek fare offered.

We have been to Basila’s about 5 times now over the last 5 years making a point to stop there every time we come to St. George from Salt Lake. The food is always excellent for both lunch and dinner. The restaurant itself is charming and the employees always friendly. The prices are reasonable. Please don’t miss this wonderful restaurant!

A coworker who once lived up here, brought us here one evening. I was looking forward to it after having a just so-so lunch that day and wanting something other than the place next door to the hotel. The location is small and cozy on the interior. They have some wine and bottled beer on the menu. I ordered the Gyro plate with and chose the potato salad as a side, my other coworkers had other items they happily ate. This was definitely a nice change and would easily go back when here.

We ate here recently during our southern Utah road trip. We found Basila’s in the phone book and looked forward to a change in the American and Mexican food we had eaten. This is a popular local eatery. We had gone in for an early dinner(5 pm) and saw many people ordering or picking up take out orders. There is a large sized menu with something for everyone. I ordered the lemon rice soup which was delicious. I also ordered the spanokopita which was tasty but I think they just heated in the microwave and not the oven. The crust was limp. I prefer the crunchy layers. Hubby had the hummus platter and gave it a thumbs up. Service was friendly and welcoming. Ambiance was comfy, not fancy. I’d definitely eat here again when I am in the area.

My husband and I are on a road trip so we’re trying to avoid fast food for dinner. We stumbled on this place while roaming around St. George. The food was pretty good. I think my favorite thing was the pita and hummus platter. We also got a salad with gyro which had a tasty dressing. My husband got the eggplant lasagna and it was just ok. We took everything to go but the place was actually really cute. The portions are massive so if you’re hungry it works!
