I really enjoyed there food! I really like the atmosphere and I was impressed by the speed and quality of service. I didn’t like the cleanliness of the place but other then that the food was delicious and very well priced.

I always have liked La Frontera, but when I tried Casa Dona Maria I have to say it took over first place for me. They make incredible Chile Verde and also their fried ice cream is to die for as is their Spanish rice. Love it! the place is clean and quaint.

We have lived here in St. George for a year and a half and we love casa Dona Maria! They have an excellent selection on food, everything we have ordered we love. We have been there 4 – 5 times and this is now our new favorite place in town!

I live in California where the Mexican food is awesome, when someone recommended them for mexican I was leery of eating Utah mexican food. But I was wrong, I had the combo with a shredded beef taco and a chicken enchilada. It was tasty and the beans were good, the rice kind of bland and even adding the salsa to it gave it no more flavor. Margarita was tasty and the other 2 in the party were happy with the food. Service, they can work on that, the bald headed guy that sat us could use some personailty. all in all not bad.

Love this place. The people are very kind and the food is great! My family comes here all the time. I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, this place is awesome. They have done awesome with large groups and small every time I’ve been in

Poor at best. Was seated fast. Was handed a menu that was covered in salsa that was wet, way gross. Ordered a chicken chimy with green sauce. Filling was ok, it was deep fried as normal but it and it tasted of ooooold oil. Was told by server they had done $ 5000.00 in sales that evening and that they couldn’t change the oil in the deep fryer during a service. Hello it was 6pm, if your turning 5 g a night you can certainly purchase another fryer. I felt I was lied to!!! I know what old oil tastes like… Only gave 50% off with piss poor excuse as to why it tasted the way it did. Wife’s food was ok at best. If your familiar with Alberto’s it is 100% more authentic and cost effective and tastes better. Two thumbs down! Won’t go back! Just read all of the other reviews, seems to me for the most part peeps from outside this area know what good mex food is about, the local reviews must be solicited. I’m from sandiego so I’m pretty sure I know real mex food. Poncho and leftys need to distance themselves from this to avoid any blo back even tho they are marginal at best. Please don’t take a chance on casa Donna based on a review that says they took a chance. It just isn’t worth the disappointment.

The location is not the best. But the food makes up for it. The the chips and salsa and bean dip is amazing. Our server was friendly fast and efficient. The bathroom was clean. and so was the rest of the restaurant. The food was delicious we had the quesadillas.

Some of the worst Mexican food I have had in years, seriously. I ordered the flautas plate, came out looking like the kids meal. Tiny plate, tiny flautas looking like taquitos. Food was just awful — dry and tasted out of can quality. Do yourself a favor and go to ponchos and Lefty’s instead.

We gave this place a second chance and it looks like they have pulled it together. The salsa was excellent, the food was hot and tasty, and the service was excellent. This place will be added to our list of places to eat. We are glad that things have changed and look forward to eating there again.

This is a good place, the beans have great flavor, the salsa is good(not chunky) and is mild. The chips are thin and better than most Mexican restaurants. The horchata is awesome! My Mister got the chicken fajita burrito and says it was good. The red sauce I had on my bean burrito was good too! The Mister had the green sauce and said it is awesome! The service is good. The bar is generous, but slow. :)

Pretty pathetic service. I tried to stay upbeat because I know everyone can have a bad day but after an hour and a half with only two of the three meals served, it was time to go. Took another 20 minutes to get the last meal and my check and after noticing being double charged for my beer I just sighed, signed the check, and left. Too bad, the food was pretty good and the ambience is fun, but management apparently has little interest in the customer service aspect.

The road this place is on gets pretty dark at night so make sure to look carefully, because we passed it without even knowing. There wasn’t too many people inside. The server did ask me and my whole family for ID when ordering for drinks, as in Utah if you look under 40 they will card you. I was a fan of the drink menu, pretty cheap compared to Vegas. Lots of options and the food was indeed good. The steak burrito was a good size and delicious. My favorite was the chile relleno, good breading a filled with cheese.

Almost didn’t eat here because of some of the reviews but decided to go with the review that said not to pay attention to the bad reviews. So glad we didn’t listen! The service was good, the restaurant clean and the food great. The salsa was fantastic, and the chips yummy and tasted freshly made. I had the chicken enchilada and chile Relleno. Both were tasty and I loved the rice. I think it’s the best I’ve tasted and I eat Mexican ALOT! Give it a try, I think you’ll like it too.

We were literally the only customers in the place, and it still took forever to get served. The waitress screwed up our drink order right off the bat, but didn’t seem too concerned about it. The salsa that came with the chips seemed to be mostly tomato; not that I’m a huge fan of spicy food, but salsa should have at least a LITTLE bite. The enchiladas looked great, but the enchilada sauce was so sweet it ruined them for me. Also, I’d be willing to bet money that they cook their refried beans in something other than lard, because the taste was pretty thin. The most Mexican thing about this restaurant is the name.

Five Stars if Brittany serves you. She is awesome, attentive, and very hard working. Other servers we have had are worthless, so I understand the bad reviews.

Pretty bad mexican food. Service was bad — the waitress came to check our table only to take our orders, bring our food, bring our check, and take our money. Chips were waaaay too salty, so we had to tap them on the table to get the salt off. Burrito was not very good. Just soggy in general, and expensive for how tasteless it was. Margarita was a whopping 9 dollars. Not cool. If I’m ever in St. George again, and this is the only place available, I’d rather cook my own food.

Drive around for 20 minutes looking for a sit down Mexican restaurant. I should have passed this one! The waiter is non-attentive, the salsa tastes store bought, and the food is pretty bland. The beer was good! The price of the food goes with the quality…

Sub-par food. Bland and uninviting. In all, a disappointing, forgetful meal.

The first time we came to Casa Dona Maria, we were really excited. We love Mexican food and are always looking for a new place to eat in St.George. The first time, the food was good and priced well. Our waitress was a little snobby but we figured it was late and tried to look past it. The second time I planned a surprise Tuesday night birthday party for my boyfriend. We had 12 people, who all arrived about 15 minutes before we did – so they had ample time to realize a large party was coming. I waited, talked to two waitress and finally got seated – our waitress was dismal, unhelpful, and rude the entire time we were there. She wasn’t refilling drinks or so much as smiling. Everyone in the party was respectful and kind; she just simply seemed to not like her job. Because of this experience, we will not be going back. We were excited to bring a large party in and help them get more business, but the lack of service has steered us and our friends elsewhere. Quite a disappointment.
