I’m honestly not sure what the hype was about. It was decent food, but I wouldn’t go there again. My BBQ chicken sandwich wasn’t that good. I expected much more from a sandwich shop.

First time at the Lunch Box. Probably the best sandwich I’ve ever had! Fresh, large and tasty are a few word I’m choosing to describe the meal. The only thing lacking was a cold beer. I strongly suggest to visit the Lunch Box!

Nice variety of sandwiches that can be made salads if you prefer. Quiet deli environment with seating for roughly 24 inside and 8 outside. Made fresh right in front of you and great care from the staff, which I believe are actually owner/operators.

Delicious sandwiches and really friendly staff(the owners, I think). It’s a nice place to sit and enjoy, but convenient to take out too.

We really like this place! They make a great sandwich and really good cookies! The owner is really nice and cares what you think which is also nice. The only reason I would give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we both thought it was a little over priced for what it is.

Tuna and turkey melt with parmesan cheese melted on the outside of the sourdough bread was incredible. Highly recommend.

I was welcomed with a pleasing aroma when we walked in the door. Unfortunately that’s about where it ends for me. The prices were a big pill to swallow for a sandwich but was willing to overlook it since it is St. George(capital of overpriced, mediocre food) and because the aroma was pulling me in. While we waited at our table at least 15 minutes after ordering, only three sandwiches made it out of the kitchen. Two for a couple guys and one for a member of a party that looked at least half done with their food. My thoughts at this point were: «It’s taking an average of five minutes per sandwich, and there’s three people in the kitchen» my next thought was: «is that girl(employee) wearing a bandaid on her fingertip and no glove?» It was at about this point that my wife asked me two similar questions: «What is taking so long? We only ordered three sandwiches.» And: «They’re not wearing gloves, and did that girl just pick an eye booger while preparing food?» And a bonus thought: «That guy just dropped some meat, picked it up and threw it back on the sandwich.» Mind you it didn’t fall to the floor but, bare hands folks. We huddled for moment and decided we’d rather get our money back than share germs and whatever else might fall into our sandwiches behind that counter. When I asked the girl at the counter if they ever wear gloves while preparing food, she said no and then looked at her manager who’s forehead was glistening with perspiration. He then said that the health department always checks on them and it’s never been a problem. I responded by asking for a refund and the managers attitude went sour, although I do appreciate that he didn’t try to give me any grief over it. So now band aid girl is giving me a refund and as I hand her my card for the refund, I notice fingernails that are real, long, oh, and dirty. To be fair of course I could only see nine of them since one was wrapped in a three day old band aid. But on the plus side, I got $ 0.13 extra back on my refund. Chili’s tasted even better than normal that day, and we were able to check off yet another joint that won’t be revisited.

Perfect! Very good salad(chopped) and potato soup. The ½ salad and soup combo was a lot of food. My husband had the French dip and it was also very good. We are in town for one night and I would like to go back for lunch tomorrow!

This place was okay. I tasted the bbq chicken salad– wasn’t overly impressed. Good but average. Got it to go and they didn’t include the crispy onion things so that was disappointing. The kids wanted that and my 6&3 year old ate quite a bit of it. We ate it within 5 minutes from leaving and it was so soggy so that didn’t help. I got the st George veggie and absolutely loved that. So yummy! I asked for pickles on the side and added them– perfect. The pickles are amazing! Husband got the club and like it okay. The macaroni salad was okay… Nothing I’d die to have again. The coleslaw was pretty good! Clam chowder was also okay. We aren’t local but may stop by next time we drive through, it was close to a park for the kids to run around and play on our drive through.

This place was ok. We weren’t super impressed with the food quality. With being a sandwich place I would think the bread would be better than your average grocery store loaf. My mom got the meatball sub with a side of coleslaw and thought it was good. I ordered the St George and it was SPICY! It has jalapeño cream cheese on it which I thought would give the sandwich a little kick but it was way too spicy.

Absolutely fantastic sandwich spot! Friendly and helpful service, squeaky clean everywhere(including restroom). Sandwiches are fresh and as tasty as you can imagine. The sweet pickles jalapeños are to die for. I don’t normally eat jalapeños but couldn’t stop eating these. Bread pudding is also wonderful — just as Grandma used to make. If you are visiting St. George, this place cannot be missed!

I was a bit disappointed with the Lunchbox. I had seen great ratings and was hopeful as it looked like it could have potential for one of those«best kept secret» hole in the wall restaurants. It was small and local and I liked the service, however, I ordered the 3 pig sandwich and left dissatisfied. My three complaints are: 1. Serving size was too small. 2. Too expensive for what they gave. 3. Sandwich was just mediocre.(Bun seemed slightly stale) For what it’s worth, my wife really liked the flavor of her sandwich. As it’s a bit out of the way for me, I won’t be going back again. Sounds like others have had better experiences, so maybe I just had an experiential exception to the rule.

I got the St. George veggie with turkey on wheat bread and it was so good! Everything was very fresh. The potato salad was also really good. Would definitely come back again!

Stopped here with my wife and mom on the way back from Vegas. Only a couple minutes off I-15, away from all the chains. Great place, really good food. Seemed like they were a little slow getting orders up, as I waited just under 20 minutes for my sandwich, but in all fairness, it was well worth it. Definitely recommend stopping here if you are in St. George.

The food is superb. Very fresh and crisp, the flavors are great, and the menu has a large variety of all sorts of taste profiles, something you don’t often get from a sandwich place. The problem is actually getting the food. I came down from Cedar one day just to find that they’d changed their hours to be very limited, and they now close at 5PM. Oh well, my fault for not calling ahead. I went by again the other day at 3PM, two hours before close, and was able to get a delicious sandwich. While being served, however, the employee told me I’d made it just in time because they were running out of food. I thought it was a joke about having been busy but, while I waited for my food, they hung a big closed sign on the door and turned some customers away. What business runs out of food two hours before close? It’s one thing to run out of a few items but to run out of enough you are shutting down is ludicrous and speaks to poor restaurant management. So my advice is to call ahead and don’t presume they’ll be open even if it is during their business hours. If you can get a sandwich it’s very very worth it. Just realize that if you drop by without calling ahead you may go away disappointed.

How long does it take to make a sandwich? Seriously, how long? We’re going on 45 minutes here. I’m not sure if they’re baking the bread from scratch, butchering the turkey in the back, or milking a cow to make the cheese, but this is getting ridiculous. I’m half a breath from throwing my hands in the air and getting a refund. **** We finally received our two sandwiches, almost an hour after ordering. They were okay, even good, but nothing we couldn’t have made ourselves. Considering that we could have driven to the store, purchased the ingredients, gone home, and made the same sandwiches in about the same amount of time, this is not a restaurant we will return to.

I got half Italian wedding soup and Greek salad and the grilled cheese with ham. I have to say the grilled cheese was the best I have ever had! The soup and salad were pretty good and the side macaroni salad was delish! I love the name I think it is cute and creative. The owner and staff we super nice, fast and helpful. A great new place in St. George for lunch!

Because this place had very good Unilocal reviews, and I was on the lookout for a fine sandwich shop in St. George, I decided to give it a try. After I walked in, I found a clean little place with brightly colored yellow walls that was surprisingly crowded during the noon hour. I next encountered two friendly owners behind the counter, and ordered some soup to eat in, and some sandwiches to go, and was given a medium-sized cup and free water with ice. My Skin-on Potato Clam Chowder was very good in taste and packed lots of clams and celery, but seemed an awfully small-sized bowl for $ 4.95. About a 6-inch Hero Sandwich that was heavy on bologna was also very good, and included ham, lettuce, tomato, Red Onion, Green Peppers, Black Olives, and Banana Peppers inside a sesame-seed-studded hoagie roll. My lunch this day was rounded out by an excellent creamy Skin-on Potato Salad. Seating at small tables was comfortable, and to-go orders were nicely packaged in resealable Styrofoam containers. When again visiting in St. George during lunch time, I will most surely return here.
