Won award for the best burrito in Napa Valley, so had to check it out. Wow, so good and amazingly huge burritos. I had the shredded chicken burrito and it was delicious. My daughter raved about the veggie one and my husband loved the carne asada. Your money goes a long way at this Napa Valley Restaurant and Store. Lovely al fresco dining with beautiful plantings all around and shade above. It was a perfect picnic lunch between wine tastings. The service was friendly, too, and fast. I’ll be back. Even picked up some delicious flan for dessert as this place is a market(little grocery), too.

So I’ve expanded my food selection here at Taqueria Azteca and I can easily say that they are the best in the Napa Valley, better than la Luna or anything you find in Napa. Id also rate them higher than anything I have encountered in Sonoma county. They make great tacos and Burritos and a price that you cannot find anywhere else in St Helena.

This is my favorite spot! Their meat is perfectly seasoned for burritos ect. Every time I come here everyone is so nice!(I come couple times a week hehe) I can’t even explain how good this place is! My heart is here at the market/taqueria. The food is well proportioned and just tasty, you can taste it’s made with love!

We did a big tasting on the Velo Vino patio recently, and since it was around lunch time, we were all pretty hungry. We went next door to Azteca and grabbed tacos, chips, guacamole and salsa. Everything was delicious, from the authentic street tacos to the hyper fresh guac. The staff was friendly, the service swift, and the price was absolutely amazing. This is arguably the best value of anything I have ever found in the Valley, spare perhaps the free tasting at Heitz Cellars. We loved our food, it didn’t gobble up much time or budget, and it was so convenient for so much right around St. Helena. Is the best choice for wine parings? Perhaps not. But it sure was good! Pro Tip — you can also get a pretty good selection of groceries, plus affordable produce. Need a little jar of mayo and a thing of mustard for your sandwich making supplies but only in town for a few days and don’t want to spend a ton — this is the place for you!

They have the bests tacos. I live in downtown Napa and this place is worth the drive up valley to get lunch. Food was fresh, and service was quick. If you love authentic tacos. This is the place for you.

We stumbled upon this little gem while wine tasting in Napa and the Russian River Valley. We drove through St Helena to check out the town and have some lunch. We were thrilled to find a local favorite where we could enjoy some delicious authentic Mexican food. The establishment is mainly a Mexican grocery with takeout options, however they do have an outdoor patio with tables, so you can relax and enjoy the food on the premises. I had a burrito and a horchata it was honestly one of the best meals of my trip. Simple, inexpensive and delicious!

Azteca Market is a local chain. This is the much smaller one, folded tortilla-like between Clif Family Winery(yes, they of the nutrition bars), a home decoration/garden store, and Clif’s food truck. This has a much smaller selection, but they have reasonable prices when it comes to spices, pupusas, fruits, vegetables, and tortillas. They have a nice outdoor dining area, right on Highway 29. They’re smart in having two places for taking orders for their taqueria. This Azteca Market gets incredibly crowded at lunch thanks to the nearby high school on weekdays. It can get crammed there at certain times. It’s more beautiful than the Napa location in a strip mall, but it gets as stuffed as a 7 layer burrito.

Yes, it is possible to eat cheap in Napa county! My husband and I decided that we would save money on our meals in order to spend more on wine tastings and bottle purchases. With that thought in mind, we went to Azteca Market in St Helena for dinner. This is a Mexican market that also has a tacqueria inside. I ordered a la carte a chile relleno and a cheese and jalapeño tamale. They were both amazing! My husband ordered the nachos with shredded chicken and a side of guacamole. The guacamole had a little kick from the jalapeños and we both agreed it was one of the best guacamoles we’ve had. The nachos was a large serving(more than enough for a meal) and was extremely tasty as well. All in all our entire bill came out to be around $ 20! Can’t beat that!!! We will be back again next time we’re in Napa!!!

The market and eatery provide a pretty authentic Mexican food experience for a really reasonable price. I have a real hard time giving them 5 stars as I’ve had better better Mexican food, but the burrito I ordered was pretty solid. Big and full of good stuff. We tried both the chicken and pork, both were seasoned well. One really key thing about this place, it is kind of nice to get a break from the Napa style places. Sometimes you just want some Mexican comfortable food and for that, this place delivers, outperforming any Mexican chain quick service place you’ve heard of. Definitely beats Chipotle, or any similar place with a similar price point.

I love azteca. We go here often. Burritos run about 7 dollars but they are worth every penny. We usually get Carne asada deluxe burritos, supreme chicken quesadillas, or their tacos. They take orders over the phone and usually tell you to give it fifteen minutes. They have good customer service and the food is always warm and ready when I get there. I recommend this place if you ate looking for fast food in St helena.

Best Mexican food in St. Helena. You order in the Market, the employees are friendly and you can tell they care about your order. Nice outdoor seating. Overall uncomplicated, easy going, high quality food at a fair price.

While I have been here numerous occasions and I have always thought the food was fine and priced well, the last visit was terrible. I got the cabeza(beef cheeks) tacos. Ate it at home and after eating the first taco I took a bite of the second and immediately knew the meat was rancid. Cut to: 8 hours later, I spent the night next to the toilet. It’s just not worth taking your chances with food poisoning for cheap Mexican food.

I was really excited to try their breakfast burritos but they were terrible. I ordered sausage but it was just hotdog chunks, and there was way too much sour cream.

This is my favorite place to eat in St Helena because of the price/value, they don’t drench your food in spicy salsa and it’s GOOD! I keep going back to the special plate with various meats. I’ve ordered the special plate, soda, and an apple all for $ 11. You can either order at the cash register, or there’s a person by the meat case that can take your order. I love the outdoor area for eating. They have a lot of umbrellas to shade you from the hot sun. I was in and out within my hour too! The only down side is that they close early.

Tried the carne asada super burrito after wine tasting and was totally hungry for some grubs. This place is a grocery store with a food ordering counter. They have outdoor seating(~20−30 seats) for patrons. My carne asada was more like ground beef, fried to bits and on the dry side. Maybe the deluxe version with lettuce, tomato and cheese would have been much better. The super version just had rice, beans, meat, guac and sour cream. I felt it was not very flavorful and tasted fatty to me. I only ate half and started feeling indigestion so I put the rest of it away. I guess I’m spoiled by the burritos in SF Mission District, these burritos just don’t measure up.

Since Armadillos closed this becomes my favorite Mexican restaurant in St. Helena. The menu selection is limited but you will find something you like and the service will be fast. The food is a easily a few levels above most Mexican fast food joints and as good as most neighborhood places. Take out and a nice patio out front. The people are friendly and helpful. But wait, it is also a market packed with Mexican favorites, fresh veggies and meat.
