This is one of the most popular restaurants in Saint Helens??? Why??? We’ve been several times because there aren’t a lot of places to choose from as far as a sit down restaurant. Drinks are decent, but the quality of food and service has gone down so much over the last couple of years. Over cooked burgers and fishy crab cakes are the Forte. For a location like this, you really expect a lot more and its sad they don’t take advantage of making that little downtown area just a little brighter.

This is the first place I tried when moving to town. It is still my go to. I love the food and the service is excellent. Stick with the sandwiches and burgers since they are the shining stars of the menu, especially the Portland Burger. Only reason i cant give a full five stars is that the fries are inconsistent, soggy or burnt… go for the salad with house made dressing instead.

My favorite burgers and omelettes in Saint Helens. I enjoy the atmosphere at Klondike and the workers are kind and lively. There are also many great beers on tap.

Good American food here. Steaks were good, burger was good, fries are good. It felt like everyone working there was really rushed though, the servers were literally running around getting food to everyone. Definitely not a bad place, at all. If you want a solid meal of meat and potatoes you should give this place a shot!

It was my first time here, but I was impressed, my server Michael got to me fairly quickly, very polite and helpful, I had a $ 20 voucher that I bought for $ 10, which is a great bargain by the way, as the prices are very reasonable. Somehow my server talked me out of using it, which I’m glad he did, now I have a reason to go back. My meal got to me pretty quickly, I had the Klondike Burger, which was out of this world delicious. I only wish I had more time to spend there. St. Helens as a whole seems like a great town.

Fantastic service & Fabulous food!!! We’ve been going here for years & it’s one of our FAVORITE restaurants in Columbia County! The staff are all very friendly, professional & attentive. They make you feel like family, whenever they see you come through the door! :-) Love the atmosphere & décor too! Great place to visit if you’re looking for good food & great service!

New in town and have eaten here twice now. First time was for lunch and it was pleasant, second was for dinner and the prime rib was on par. Thus far I give the wait staff 5 stars as they have all been pleasant and perfect. I will be back! Keep it up Klondike!!!

Big city fancy food in a nice, small town. Great burgers, excellent prime rib(when they offer it). Full service bar with really good bloody marys! I don’t think you can go wrong ordering anything on their menu… it’s all good!

This place is our favorite spot. Whatever service issues they had in the past, gone. If you haven’t been here in a while because of what you experienced in the past, come back right now. The food is consistent and always on point… just delicious. Management has done an amazing job getting this place where it is today and I can’t think of one negative thing to say about this place! We love it here and will be back again and again! Stop reading and eat at the Klondike already!!!

Last two times we’ve been here it’s been disappointing. Came for dinner and the steaks were so over cooked and bland. They tried too fix our meals, but they came back wrong again. We finally have up. Today we came for brunch and the biscuits and gravy were cold. My crab Benedict was bland and Luke warm. The poached eggs were hard. The country fried steak was bland and almost cold. If we weren’t so hungry I would have complained, but didn’t want to have to wait for them to fix it. It’s a shame we use to like this place a lot.

Went here for Sunday brunch with four other family members. We were seated promptly. The waitress came over and took our drink orders, which then took a little longer than I would have anticipated to come out. My brother-in-law and I each ordered bloody marys(he had the Horsey Mary, while I opted for the Woodsmen, which comes with bacon), while my wife had a mimosa. The bloody marys were good, but the mimosa tasted like orange drink(Tang?) was used in place of orange juice. For food, I ordered the Crab Cake, which is essentially Eggs Benedict, with crab cakes in place of the English muffin, and no ham. It was good, but the combination was a little odd. Everyone else thought their food was ok, and we all left full. The pricing on the food here is about what I would expect, but the drink prices are a little stiff. $ 8 for the mimosa was definitely high. I did use a Unilocal $ 20 for $ 10 deal, which helped Klondike has friendly(though not super-speedy) service, good food, bloody marys with bacon in them, a quiet, cozy atmosphere, and free wi-fi. I would return.

I have no idea what kind of heroin they put in their fries but I couldn’t stop eating them. Good thing they have bottomless fries. Also they have a good selection of beers and a really fabulous cheery staff that’s a joy to be around.

The food was wonderful and the service was even better! We ordered the crab cake and Portland burger. Both were excellent and you cannot go wrong. Ask for the specialty ketchup and grilled onions with your burger. I gave 3 stars just because our table was still dirty with food beneath our table and it had this sticky feeling. I didn’t mind the place being smelly from age. I was bothered more of the maintenance of the tables. The lack of minor details like cleanliness bothered me since I used to work in hospitality in Las Vegas.

Me and my two roommates came here on a whim while visiting the Halloweentown in St. Helens. I was expecting mediocre service and mediocre food with a nice atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised when we got great service, good food, and the expected nice atmosphere. I had the French Dip, which was much yummier than I expected, and only $ 7 with a side of fries. One roommate got the linguine alfredo, which he liked, and the other got fish and chips, which he also enjoyed. We all felt the fries could have been crispier, but overall, the food was pretty dang good. Plus, our server was extremely friendly. On a side note, the bread pudding was excellent. We got it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, and it was amazing! If you’re ever visiting the St. Helens area and you’re looking for some good, simple comfort food, I would definitely recommend this place. The service alone makes it worth it, but the food is tasty as well.

So I started out with high hopes. The place looked bizzy. A short wait for a table but definitely not the worst I’ve seen. The food was, well, underdone… the frys where hands down the worst I have ever had. Not even close to done! I ordered a Ruben sandwich and it was as ok. Good but not great, the saurekraut was a little undercooked and if it wasn’t for the hour wait I would have probably looked past it. The bottom bread was pretty soggy but thats not uncommen with that type of sandwich. The server was way overworked and I could tell she was giving it her all but it seemed hard for her to keep a smile. Overall she was really trying and that’s all that I can ask. Give the girl some help! My kids chicken strips where cooked correctly but didn’t really have much of a taste. Well that’s not entirely true, my youngest had a fish taste going on. I have to say it was a very unique taste. I don’t like giving scathing reviews, I understand this is someone’s livelihood but it was a really bad experience. This seems to be one of the only two restaurants in St Helens. The food was not bad though their fries wanted to be amazing and instead were just VERY greasy and cold. I got fish and chips which was well priced and the fish was great. Their server was very nice though getting anything took forever at no fault of hers — I was under the impression they had one server working the restaurant for a Saturday evening which seems silly — especially when their town has events happening. Everyone in our group was pretty ok with their food although one person was given vodka in a soapy glass and then overcharged for items.

The Klondike Restaurant is old and nothing fancy. Upon entering, you get the whiff of wet, old, wood smell, which reminded me of my mom’s house — very nostalgic for me, which was great. Food was delicious. I’m not a fan of burgers but I ordered the Portland burger which comes with bottomless cut fries. I actually enjoyed eating every bite. I wished that the fries were crispy though because all of the fries I got were soggy. My bf ordered the crab omelette(with potatoes) and a side order of french toast. He kept saying throughout the meal how good it was. We were also given Portland ketchup. In addition to the food, we also ordered a B-52 Coffee and Punk’n Ale. Prices were pretty decent. All in all, we spent less than $ 40 for our meal and drinks. We came in for lunch during their Halloweentown Pumpkin Lighting ceremony event. Line wasn’t as long as it was for dinner. We were given a choice to eat at the bar(if we didn’t have kids and were 21+) and we chose just that. We were seated immediately. I’m not sure how they are during non-event days but food came to us about half an hour after we ordered, possibly longer. It’s a very small town so I don’t think they are used to catering to large crowds.

I did not expect this place to be so good. It was amazing. Little place, in an upstairs bar near the river in St Helens. Not fancy, but the steak, with it’s amazing sauce… well it cut like butter. It melted,(oh my I am salivating while I type, just thinking about it) in my mouth. My hubby had the salmon and it was also good. The desert was pretty amazing, as well. The service, though, was really stellar. The waitress was enjoyable, and right there with everything we wanted. I have been to much pricier places that didn’t have service this good! I am going to drive up there just for dinner again sometime!

Great food, great patio seating! We drive our boat across the river and dock at the St. Helen’s boat docks… walk to this restaurant and love it! Love that we can enjoy a day on the Columbia River and then get food right near the shores… Literally just a few steps away from the boat. The service was great too, water was always filled. I also hear that it is haunted… Have yet to see any ghosts though. Inside or out door seating, you can’t beat the experience in this small town feel!

Klondike’s has some great food… Today I had the eggs benedict served over tasty crab cakes! It was wonderful! The hollandaise sauce was perfect, eggs poached beautifully, and they were served with yummy roasted potatoes with little peppers and onions! Delish! And they had Portland’s organic ketchup — NICE! The gal who helped me was friendly, bright, funny and when I asked for suggestions, she was spot on! This place is always a very clean, favorite spot for my family and friends when we’re in St. Helen’s! Ohhh. and they have free wifi too!
