Forget best deli in town, this place is the best I’ve been to in my 3 years living on this island. The service is fast and friendly and food and freshness you just cannot beat. If you like the deli on the other side of town then you have not been to this one. You won’t go anywhere else.

Stopped by on Wednesday with the Chilliez for a bite of lunch as we were out and about — and I must say we were very pleasantly surprised! We each ordered a panini(2 Chicken Blasts and 1 Buffalo Chicken) and one ordered a hot lunch — it was all good! My panini — chicken, fresh mozz, roasted peppers and Spinach pesto. was AWESOME! Also tried the cucumber salad — which was too sweet for my taste I like it sharp with vinegar but it was fresh — and the cukes were still crisp! The service was quick and smiling… and we sat at a table to enjoy our meal — a local friend came in and joined us — and she ordered the Mac n Cheese and Chicken, Bacon, Ranch salad and she was impressed also. I love supporting our local business and this Deli is a keeper! THe next test will be Sunday AM — BEC w/SPK! If that Rocks — we have a winner!

Everybody who lives on Long Island knows that deli shops are a dime a dozen, they are everywhere. However, with time, and when you start visiting them, they start to distinguish themselves based on the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. Sequa Deli in St James is one of those deli locations that is slowly but surely separating itself from the pack. From the moment you walk in, the staff is on point. Their ordering system is efficient, and they usually get you squared away with your order & payment very quickly. The wide array of choices in the coolers is mind boggling, and everything is fresh and tasty. The breakfast sandwiches are all good, and with generous portions. Any sandwich I’ve ever had there has left me fully satisfied. Their morning coffee isn’t an afterthought either, it’s actually good coffee. At other places, it can be water with light coffee flavor. Not here. Sequa will continue to be on my rotation of places to get good breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Keep up the good work!

Everything made perfectly to your specifications. Ample staff, friendly, professional and clean. If it’s not on the menu or sold off the shelves(salads, for example) they will make it to your liking from scratch. Growing popularity of this deli is a direct result of their excellent customer service, fresh food offerings and good location where several major local roads converge. This quickly became my favorite place to stop after my gym workout.

Best sandwich from here is chicken cutlet, bacon, cheddar cheese, ranch on a garlic bread hero, melted. Try it you won’t regret it!

I used to go to sequa deli when I lived in seaford. When I moved I was excited to find one near my new home. I love the food at this deli, the staff is very friendly and I would love to give them 5 stars, but unfortunately I cannot. My reason? Every time I have been there I have watched the employees make sandwiches(wearing gloves) take money and make change(wearing the same gloves) rest their hands on the counter(wearing the same gloves) then proceed to make another sandwich(wearing the same gloves)! This irks me to no end! Obviously the gloves of for consumer safety, not to protect the workers hands from foodstuffs. If you wouldn’t lick the counter or put money in your mouth then you need to remember to change your gloves before touching food. Ps. They wrap everything in Saran Wrap. Maybe go easy on your Saran and use the money saved to buy more gloves. Ok that last part was meant to be funny. Please Sequa deli — make the commitment to change your gloves! I really want to love you 100%!

Seaqua is a pretty awesome deli. So far everything that I’ve had(2 pieces of Quiche, soups, Mac and cheese, a couple of sandwiches — just to name a few) thus far has been really good. The most serious test of all tests must be commenced one of these days. That test is an egg sandwich. So we shall see how they do. I have a feeling it’ll be my new spot for an egg sandwich. Just saying. Anyway they always have a few different soups daily and I have had the Tomato with Orzo and Cream of Broccoli. I got to say I’m not typically a tomato soup lover but Seaqua has made me love theirs. Yeah it’s not super healthy because it’s a thick and kind of creamy soup but MAN!!! is it a good soup or what?! Seaqua is also very clean and the tables I’ve noticed thus far are clean. Like I said in my tip everyone seems efficient and friendly. So I can’t wait to go back and try an egg sandwich. This will hands down be my new spot to goto when I’m going to Long Beach if I want a sandwich.

My egg sandwich was decent, but it wasn’t anything more than average. I haven’t eaten anything else here, but I would give it another shot.

I am quite critical of Delis these days because it seems that there is no sense of urgency in most places making your food. I do not want to wait 15 minutes for an egg sandwich. It appears all good deli help has disappeared and any deli in Suffolk county is slow! This place is not like that. Their front help seems typical of delis around here but I believe they have some ninjas in the back cooking your food because it actually comes out fresh and good. They have excellent panninis too that are quite interesting. Most of the Delis in the area are not that good, so this place is a welcome addition.
