Boyfriend and I have seen the sign for the Lunchbox Deli for the past year, and we’ve always wondered what it lead to. The other weekend we finally decided to follow it to an industrial park we didn’t know existed, to find The Lunchbox Deli tucked into a proverbial corner. Went in to find a small but clean and bright space with some snacks and a large menu. There are a bunch of sandwiches named after comic book and animated characters, as well as a small breakfast menu. We ordered the Dr. Doom, which was a toasted garlic hero with hot roast beef, mozzarella, bacon, and honey mustard. Every sandwich comes with a small side of macaroni salad, potato salad, or cole slaw. Since we were sharing the hero, the guy at the counter(I’m guessing one of the owners) gave us each our own side to go with the sandwich. The sandwich was absolutely amazing. It was really well made, it was huge but stayed together and wasn’t too messy, and it was really easy to eat. It was also extremely delicious. The roast beef was moist and everything went really well together. I’m going to make a big comparison here… as much as I love Seport, this sandwich was 1000x better. I feel like everything from there all kind of tastes the same sometimes, and the meat is frequently dry or just not easy to eat from a sandwich… Well that is not the case here. The cole slaw and macaroni salad were both great as well. The macaroni salad was plain without lots of chunky veggies in it but that’s how I like it. If you live in the area, this should be your deli.
