Foods good but certainly not worth the wait. Not sure if it’s a staff issue or what but plan of waiting a long time after you order. I’ve been here a few times and nothing has changed. The front of the line is congested with people standing aimlessly waiting for their food which should have been out a long time ago. Be prepared to spend some time here if you are looking to go.

Great bagel, breakfast & lunch. The owner is hands on, the employees are consistently attentive & thorough. Really impressive operation. What keeps me coming back is the quality of the food as well as the fact that it has a family atmosphere

Love this place! The everything pumpernickel is such a fantastic idea and is seriously so yummy! They also have pretty much every flavor creamer you could hope for(my favorite is sweet cream) which is a huge plus, I don’t know many places that have such a wide variety.

Love the bagels and they are always packed. Only reason I stopped going was because Even when they open at 6 there has been many times during the week the bagels still wouldn’t be ready at 630.

Good place to have a bagel. I usually go with the wheat everything bagel with cream cheese! Quite good coffee, not the best one tho!

Stopped in on a very snowy night. Bagels were not very fresh, but a good selection of cream cheese. I asked for my bagel to be SLIGHTLY toasted but was given very crunchy bagel.

All I ever get at Strathmore is bagels, so I can’t speak for their other offerings, but I am a huge fan of their bagels. Living in upstate NY, I look forward to my trips down to Long Island when I can get good quality bagels and I always make sure a bring half a dozen home with me for the freezer. I like that so many cream cheese flavors are offered and love that their are three different kinds of Everything bagels. The sunflower seed bagels are a fun concept and something I wish you saw more often at bagel shops. I like the chewy texture and have never had a bad experience here.

I just got a plain bagel/w lox cream cheese. It was amazing. I’m in Florida now 15 years and haven’t had anything close. I savored every last bite. Now some constructive criticism. The fact that you don’t have a designated line to place your order and one to pay and pick up is absolutely absurd. 2 people behind me and myself were asking. People walked right in front of me, and others. It’s simple. Get the velvet ropes and such. Order here; pick up here. Not complicated.

I’ve been in here twice and can’t go back for the shear fact that a woman working there, I don’t know if she’s an owner of manager, speaks so poorly to all the workers there. I actually had to leave the last time bc I was completely uncomfortable listening to the way she talked down those kids.

Had a western omelette with home fries and a everything bagel platter. Platter comes with a small orange juice, coffee or tea. Food was Tasty! Portion ok. Good when you’re in a rush for breakfast. Sandwiches aren’t bad. Staff are ok, some are nicer than others. If you eat in, it’s clean.

They need a better toaster, it only toasts one side so it’s not really toasted. I have said«well done» every time and it hasn’t happened. Toasted means crunchy. Super long lines, because they process slowly so be prepared to wait. They need an express line for easy stuff like bagels and coffee as most people order elaborate stuff. Tasty though, good fresh bagels. Lite veggie cream cheese is good too. Better than Bagel Café down the road too. But not nearly as good as Bagel Express on 25A. They are kings!

Best egg sandwiches! They make them perfect and the bagels are great. Delicious home fries and great coffee.

No thanks. Went there Saturday and asked for a toasted bagel with butter. Got home and had a cold bagel in my bag — no butter and not toasted. Decided to try them again today. Ordered eggs and home fries. Got home and there was a long black hair strung across my food, so I had to throw the entire thing out. Totally unappetizing…

We come here on Saturday mornings to hear live music so the length of the line or the slowness of the staff doesn’t really matter when there is added entertainment. There bagels are as good as anyplace else. Their egg dishes are just fine, my husband has had scrambled eggs or an omelet and been quite satisfied. I have no complaints about the coffee– it is as good as any bagel place(that means not great, but fine with a bagel). I have had one of their egg-bacon-cheese on a bagel sandwiches and it was excellent. I am not looking for gourmet food here, just a good breakfast and a relaxing morning(did I mention that they have live music? Where else can you get that?) and this place fills the bill.

I head to Strathmore Bagel in Stony Brook every week. Consistently fresh and a great lunch. I usually wind up going back the next day for more.

I was traveling on business and found this bagel shop for some much needed breakfast. The reviews on Unilocal were not very enthusiastic here, but I drove by and it looked like a well-kept business so I gave it a shot. I’m very glad that I did. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a French toast bagel special that came with home fries and a small coffee. Bacon egg and cheese on French toast bagel: Very good. Freshly cooked eggs, nice crispy bacon, gooey cheese and a really good bagel. Not a hard crust bagel and not too sweet which can be a problem with the French toast bagel variety. I was in the mood… don’t judge me! Home fries: They were good, tasty and hot. Very moist and fresh. Not crispy on any edges, but a very substantial portion that I couldn’t finish. I would split that portion with my wife and we’d be content. Location: In a strip mall with a Walbaum’s a few doors down. Nice big, clean and well lit business. The owner here cares about his business and it shows. Many bagel varieties and super nice people working there. I’ll definitely repeat when in the area next time for breakfast. Damage was around $ 5.50 and they take credit happily. As a business traveler that is 99% flying solo it is always a pain to see credit card minimums when ordering a single meal.

Too bad I can’t give it zero stars. The bagels here are good, some of the best in the area but the owner is a piece of crap. The line in the store was longer than usual and hes taking orders, he runs into a customer who he hasn’t seen in «ages» and spends a good 10 minutes chatting with him while making a woman’s order then I’m next in line and instead of taking my order he proceeds to continue chatting. Finally he takes my order and he hears me complaining that he was bullsh*tting more than working he says«I know you’re not coming back, I know him since he’s a kid and his mom died of cancer 5 years ago so I wanted to catch up with him. I’m the owner so it’s ok I don’t care» in this economic state for him to not care that someone who is a weekly customer won’t come back speaks volumes to me about this mans character. I will never step foot in his establishment again.

I’m a fan of this bagel store. Wide variety of types, including whole wheat and flagels, taking special attention to get the everything mix right and real good bialy’s too. They also have a bakery section where you can get things like butter cookies or big black and white cookies.

The standard bagel store. The place is spotless. Food is not bad. Cheese and egg sandwiches are ok. Not quite sure if they serve butter or margarine. I think it might be the latter. Coffee is okay. I think it’s a nice place to have in the neighborhood. Pretty middle-of-the-road bagel store.

I end up stopping in here on every trip back to NY, not so much because I like them, but the fact that I always stay with my sister who lives around the corner. Have never had a sandwich here just the bagels. They taste good, but certainly not in my top 10. I also find them to be quite expensive. A bottle of soda and two bagels, one with butter, one with crème cheese cost me six and change. No matter how busy it is, service is sloooooooooow. Plenty of seating in the front of the store. Grab a table or sit at the counter in the front window. If I’m going anywhere but the mall, I pass them by and go elsewhere.
