My friend and I had done distillery/winery tours all afternoon and wanted some food. We stopped in because he requested Mexican. This seems like the only Mexican place close to downtown. The restaurant is airy and clean. The waitress came over and she clearly did not speak a word of English. I should have told her to speak in Spanish. I ordered a margarita and we looked over the menu. The margarita was awful. It was all cheap, nasty sour mix and maybe a tiny bit of crappy tequila. I got the chicken fajita burrito and my friend got some combo plate. Luckily we got the correct orders so the waitress could understand us, just apparently not speak to us. The food was fine, nothing outstanding. The chips and salsa that were complementary were subpar as well.

It’s a fine place to visit and the menu is extensive. The food was good. Not great but good. There were some odd plates brought out, as if orders got mixed up or written down wrong. There was a lot of staff on hand and it took a long time between getting drinks and having our food orders taken but the food came out fast after that. Nice atmosphere. Prices same as you would expect. There are online coupons(that we forgot to use!) and a nice PDF of their menu on the website.

We ate here a little over a year ago and the food was good. Yes it isn’t authentic Mexican but it’s good.

Terrible service. 1:30 pm Friday I was sat(just me), staff walked by my table several times for 10 minutes without even taking my drink order. So I decided to leave. I was walking out, informed the manager and he just shrugged. Unreal.

Fun place to eat. The chips and salsa are awesome! No wait, and the menu is very large.

Went here once, just blah nothing special. Went a second time and tried something different. All I can say is yuk and yuk!!! Nice décor tho. A real Mexican restaurant uses chihuahua cheese. They use some sort of liquid white stuff! For the record my wife is Mexican so I know what I’m talking about. LOL!!!

Delicious food, good service, and awesome lunch specials! I can go eat during my lunch hour and get my food within minutes of ordering… Always enough to take home for a great price! I’m there about once a week!

Food is wonderful, atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is extremely inviting. For the price, it offers some excellent Mexican cuisine.

Has to be the worst Mexican meal of my life. Rice n beans were decent but the taco meat was simply browned ground beef with no seasoning, and the«burrito» was just a large enchilada– tortilla with chicken inside folded over, and no other fillings whatsoever. To make it worse they dumped enchilada sauce on top?! Weird. The margarita was awful too: bottom shelf tequila and what was obv pre mixed store brand margarita mix with antifreeze green color. To top it off, our waiter was surly and unhappy. Can’t believe this is the best mex restaurant this town has to offer.

Great atmosphere, great service, great team. Good food and a family-friendly environment. We took my 83-year-old grandma and she couldn’t stay out of my margarita. Will return when we’re in the area.

I am beyond amazed with the staff, food, and atmosphere of this restaurant! I haven’t been back in Michigan for 12 years and I wanted to meet up with friends and family. I reserved for 25 but 30 come. You couldn’t have asked for kinder service. The staff helped all of us and made sure the kids were taking well care of. The food was delicious and greatly priced. I will defiantly visit this restaurant again!

the food is definitely americanized mexican food. portions are humongous, and they definitely LOVE cheese there because it’s sprinkled generously on EVERYTHING. my favorite dish is the molcajete. comes in a sizzling bowl with every meat and veggie they have. yum! didn’t care for their margaritas however. very sugary and really weak.

My husband and I just finished a wonderful dinner at the bar. Such a friendly bartender Becca. Becca was so helpful and has the most sparkling personality. I enjoyed every mouthful of my shrimp fajitas and my husband devoured all of his meal. The endless chips and salsa along with the salsa bar in the other room were a hit. We will be back and often!

The GOOD The food is edible, reasonably-priced for lunch, and has good quantities The BAD Not authentic, but Tex-Mex It’s hard to find something on the lunch menu that doesn’t have hard taco shells or ground beef(two things Americans ruin Mexican food with) The food is bland(I’ve only ever had the lunch fajitas because of the reason above) The service is slow

A Mexican restaurant using flour tortillas for tacos… al pastor tacos topped with lettuce and tomato? WTF? This place seems to be catering to the St. Joseph crowd, serving gringo versions of classics. The menu was overwhelming. Chips and salsa were not good. Drinks and service were good. If you’re not used to authentic Mexican food, you may not notice anything is wrong.

Was a little disappointed. When I heard a Tequila Bar was coming to Saint Joe. I got excited. Read all the news articles on its up and coming opening. Pictures of the décor looked wonderful. I down graded Azul Tequila to 3 stars because I feel if your going to have Tequila in your name. You need to have more then a few Tequilas at your bar. The good was good. But if your going to bring a tequila bar to town bring it or go home.

The family went to Azul Tequila today and it was awesome. I got the Molcajete in the GIANT volcanic rock bowl. It was still sizzling 10 minutes after getting it. Very well seasoned and delicious. There was a Salsa Bar with 6 different types of Salsa, get all you want. Guac was incredible. The dining room was very clean and well decorated with a Tequila Bottle chandelier and interesting blue agave fountain in the middle of the restaurant. Waiter was very friendly and attentive and there was real silverware unlike what the previous poster put up. Best Mexican restaurant in the SW Michigan area. Check this place out, you won’t regret it.
