I can’t say enough good about this place! The owners, Tom and Alyssa, have become like family to us! They truly care about every one of their clients and prove it over and over again. If you need a new great workout than this is the place for you! I have never been able to keep up a workout regimen, and ever since I’ve started [solidcore] I can’t live without it! It is definitely the best and hardest thing you will ever do! If you haven’t tried it yet… What are you waiting for? Even if you are just starting to workout or have been for years, this is the place to go! The coaches will guide you through everything and I promise you it will be a challenge! You will be so proud of yourself for accomplishing a class here! Everyone motivates each other and it’s a blast! Try it!

«I’ve run marathons before so this should be easy» was what I thought to myself as I walked into Solidcore for my first workout. Only after enduring what would be 50 mins of pure hell(in a hurts so good kind of way) did I find out why my friends had been raving about SC’s intense workouts. The studio space is large, bright and has an inviting vibe to it. There are only 10 machines so classes tend to fill up fast but there are enough classes offered throughout the day to get a workout in. They don’t have showers onsite but do have changing rooms in the back of the studio. Towels are also provided which really comes in handy because A) I sweat the equivalent of a small lake during the workouts and B) I tend to forget to put things in my gym bag at 5:30 in the morning when I’m rushing to get out the door to the studio. Most of the workout is done on the Megaformer, which from my understanding is like a Pilates machine on crack. It’s amazing how sweaty and sore you can get by isolating certain muscles over and over for extended periods of time. I’ve only taken Tom’s early morning classes but have to say that the three workouts I’ve done have all been challenging and fast paced. The cost of buying an unlimited membership or class packages is pretty expensive but if you have ClassPass you can check out this studio three times a month which is totally worth it.

I am absolutely addicted to Solidcore. I’ve tried the Lagree Fitness method on a megaformer at studios in San Fran and Scottsdale, and this is definitely my favorite of the three. The workouts are intense, but atmosphere is friendly, encouraging, and fun. The instructors are all great and provide a nice variety of style. I’ve been going 3 – 4 times per week for 3 months now and the personal results are awesome — the fastest body change I’ve seen for any new workout routine I’ve started. I’ve been a runner for years and have worked with personal trainers in the past for strength — this is more efficient and affordable than that option. Also, take advantage of the new student deals. Then once you’re hooked, you can buy bulk for discounts. You will hurt after the first few classes, but that’s how you know it’s working. Plus, everyone else is just working hard and focusing on their own workout, so no one is watching you. Just stick with it and you’ll be amazed. And it is a really fun community. A few things to know before you go — you can change in the bathrooms in the back, which is helpful after work. There are also towels provided and a drinking fountain. Some people do have water bottles in class, but I never have used one myself. The class is done barefoot, so no need to bring special socks or shoes. I really can’t say enough positive things about it. You should definitely check it out.

Solidcore is the THING in Minnesota right now for fitness junkies. I get it– it’s something different, works different muscles, and is very trendy– like a Soulcycle for Minneapolis. After hearing all about it from a few different workout buddies, I was excited to try it… But it left me with kind of a negative opinion. The space is cool– like if Lululemon opened up a boutique gym. You use a mega-former machine, which is like a Pilates machine with a bunch of different pulleys and resistance bands and a really cool concept. The mega former could also be a prop in one of the Saw movies. They help you use your slow twitch muscles so you get a workout like you’ve never had before. The instructor knew it was my first class, but I felt like she almost thought my friend and I were a hassle to deal with since we didn’t know the ins and outs of the machines like the pros in the room. Did not feel welcome at all. This could just be personal preference too, but it wasn’t very motivating. It’s you versus yourself(which is the same in Crossfit, Corepower, Alchemy, gyms) but there was a lack of community/working towards the same goal like there is in those workouts. Everyone is silent. To finish it off, the«you’ll be sore for three days after» stories I heard didn’t end up being true– I was sore, but only in my groin area(TMI? Sorry.) and felt I could get a better workout elsewhere. To top it all off, this place is expensive. Wow. $ 17 for your first class, and then $ 35 for your next ones. I’d be open to trying it again but not for that price! The class is 50 minutes, which, when you think about it, translates to 70 cents per minute. No thanks. (FYI– they are on Class Pass, meaning you can subscribe to the Class Pass membership and go three times a month– as well as to a bunch of other cool gyms– for around $ 70 a month.) For now, I’ll stick to my Crossfit and Corepower– I really enjoy going to these places, feel welcome, dig the community vibe, and know I’ll get a good workout in. If you’re looking to switch up your routine, I wouldn’t say stay away from Solidcore– it’s just not for me.

I don’t even know where to start when it comes to raving about this workout and studio. From a workout perspective-it is a humbling ass kicking! You may think you’re in shape… And then you go through one of these classes and work muscles you never knew existed. Prepare for muscle failure in minutes. Solidcore is a low impact, TOTAL body workout in 50 minutes; you will NOT be disappointed! From a gym/studio perspective this place is like a community and neighborhood you don’t want to leave. The coaches greet you with a smile, encourage you, gently correct and push you throughout the workout. I can’t say enough about how much I love this place!

Huge fan!!! solidcore is an AMAZING workout that is both challenging and really fun. I’ve gone to many gyms(large and boutique) and have found this workout one of the best. If you love to challenge yourself this is the place! Also, since every workout is 50 minutes, you can get in and out quick which is really nice. Instructors all are fantastic and the owners(Alyssa and Tom) go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome.

I was able to attend another sponsored class and enjoyed it more. The workout was much better balanced and we did moves that really utilized the unique machines. I got a full body workout that got my heart rate up and was adaptable to my strength level. The music was awesome and so was the instructor. I just can’t give this place 5 stars because it’s out of this world expensive. I would be considered well-to-do by many but there’s just no way I can spend that much on a single workout. At least not until I get another raise or two.

Don’t underestimate this workout. I was excited to see Solidcore was coming out to Minneapolis. I had been hearing great things about it from my DC friends and as soon as they opened here I knew I had to try it. The studio is small with only 10 Megaformer Machines — meaning you’re going to get a LOT of attention from the trainer. I was nervous because it was my first class and had no idea what to expect but the trainer Tyler and owner Alyssa did a great job explaining everything and making me feel comfortable. Class started out with Tyler showing us the moves he’d be calling out and how to do them. They seemed easy enough as he was demonstrating, but about 3 minutes into the workout I was already sweating and discovering muscles I hadn’t used in years. The class was great — it was high energy with great music that helped you try to keep your mind off of how sore you were. Tyler was very motivational and helped get us through the class. If you’re looking for a fast-pace, intense workout definitely checkout Solidcore. This is a great addition to the West End!

Love the space. Love the music. Love the people. Love the location. This workout is as hard as anything in town. The coaches & owners are incredible! I’m in love. Highly recommended! I’ve attended 3 classes in their first week open– every one was different but equally challenging. The coaches are motivating & the small group allows for a lot on individual coaching. Get there!
