The food was absolutely amazing, the service was excellent, I’ve never seen my kids scarf down food as fast as they did. The perfect place to eat and hang together. I will definitely recommend Chris’s Pancakes!

I’ve checked Unilocal to find this place for breakfast, I saw your had eggs benedict, the restaurant is very clean and has a friendly feel. The eggs benedict were okay. The sauce was a little sour. The ham was a little tough. The waiter Norm is great.

Perfect basic breakfast menu. We went last Sunday late morning. It’s nice to go places with some crazy creative breakfast dishes… On certain occasions. But if you’re just hungover and need some pancakes and bacon; it’s the place to go. Also, your grandma would love it it too. Great service, good food, it will be our new regular place for sure.

Truly spectacular! Had the half breakfast(egg, hash browns, sausage) with multigrain pancakes. Everything was perfect. Especially impressed with the pancakes. I prefer multigrain over white but few places offer true multigrain and it usually is cooked badly but at Chris’s the multigrain pancakes are packed with flavor, fluffy, with a bit of crunch. What a lovely treat. Service was friendly and professional. Reasonable prices. Chris’s for the win!

It has been a few months since we have eaten here. Went on Sunday morning — myself, hubby and my three kids. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table. Nice area to sit and they had little cookies while we wiated, we thought that was very nice. Service was great and quick — they have A+ service. Our table recieved service from the waitress, back server and a bus boy. Friendly, quick and good with my kids. The coffee is really great here! So one star just for that! We ordered, 3 Kids French toast meals — came with french toast, meat and an egg & choice of drink. The french toast was great, my girls loved it. I had a bacon and cheese omlette, toast and hasbrowns. Everything was cooked perfectly. My husband had the country friend steak and eggs — he loved it. All in all a great place for a Sunday family breakfast. Can not wait to go again!

Perfect casual spot for a very tasty, affordable meal! We’ve been looking for a good neighborhood diner for breakfast/brunch(opposed to the fancy hipster scene – which has its time and place, but isn’t always what you want, am I right?). We stopped by for an early morning weekday breakfast and were greeted with a friendly staff that definitely seemed like they wanted to be there. Regulars were greeted like old friends, and newbies like we were(two young ladies obviously together) gratuitously welcomed. Two country omelettes(with sausage gravy done right!) with sides of pancakes and coffee came to about $ 20. Sure, you could make some of this at home, but… why? We’ll be back!

What else can you say but this place is a south city icon for a reason. Great staff, great food and the place isn’t run down or smell like uncle bobs at 2am after a night out.

Chris’ Pancake is a south side staple. Serving the best quality breakfast food in the area. Staff is always very friendly, personable and prompt. The kitchen is semi-open; just enough to see how efficient staff is working to crank out orders. The dining room is spacious and split into three sections. More than enough seating to accommodate any group size. Weekend mornings are crowded and the wait can exceed a half hour with lines outside the door. I recommend putting your name on the list and perusing through some of the literature located in the foyer area. Fret not they usually have breakfast cookies & hot coffee while you wait. ~Christy

If you’re going on a Saturday or Sunday morning, there will be a wait. Don’t leave! It’s worth the wait. Added bonus coffee and cookies while you wait. I keep wanting try their lunch/dinner options but each time I go I can’t resist the pancakes.

They serve cookies and coffee while you wait for a table. On 12÷13÷15, our food came out quick and tasted good. I ordered 2 pancakes, 2 poached eggs, and 2 slices of bacon(Johnny Rabbit) $ 5.99. The others in my party had biscuits and gravy $ 5.49 and added hash browns $ 2.19, and corn beef hash and eggs w/pancakes and hash browns $ 7.29. Our total for three ppl was $ 23.10 w/tax– very reasonable! Our server Sabrina was a sweet lady. I would return if in the area.

Truly unremarkable. Probably slightly below average. I make better pancakes at home, from scratch or a box. I think you even get better at ihop definitely better at Cracker Barrel. Hash browns were blah and sausage. Atmosphere is old school pancake house. Waited a while to order while waitress was preoccupied. I felt bad for her because she was obviously flustered and felt busy. Definitely disappointing

Ordered delivery through grubgo. First time experience. I was working alone and craving breakfast. I got the eggs benedict with hashbrowns, grits, and an extra bit of bacon. I also asked for an extra side of hollandaise(dont judge) for my hashbrowns. They didnt charge me extra and gave me a good half a cup! We order delivery a lot and many places have horrible to go packaging. Food is often soggy, tossed around, and leaking. Not this place! They took the time to seran wrap everything so tight! I acutally had to use scissors to get to my food! Bonus stars for that! And it was still very hot because of it! My tongue is burnt from the hot grits! Food is good! Typical breakfast food. A lot of places though dont do a great eggs benny, but they are spot on! Perfectly poached eggs, delicious canadian bacon, even the english muffins were great!(Not burnt and then smothered hoping you wont notice). Will def order again! Thanks for making my monday a great one!

I came to Chris’ on Labor Day for an afternoon breakfast with a friend. We were originally wanting to go to Southwest Diner but it was closed. This was relatively close option so we decided to check it out! There was about a 30 minute wait at 12:00 but that was most likely cause it was a holiday. Although, I’m sure it’s that packed on the weekends! I went with the Salsiccia which is «2 Italian sausage links served with 2 eggs any style, hash browns and toast or pancakes.» The sausage was amazing. Seriously. I’m usually a bacon over sausage kinda guy but not this time. It tasted fresh and was clearly some high-quality meat. Not that weird breakfast sausage you get that is oddly crunchy from Dennys. The eggs and has browns were great as well. I loveddd the pancakes. The older I get the more I like pancakes. I think I may have found a correlation between love of pancakes and age. Inform the scientists! Chris’ is a great option if you live in the area or have a hankering for some diner food!
