I have been to the St. Louis and Jefferson City locations both are incredibly wonderful! Food is delicious and service is great!

Lunch buffets are great. They don’t seem to change it up much but what they usually have is good(bulgogi, tandoor chicken, naan, etc). Their chicken tikka masala off the menu is very good. As good as any of the Indian places in STL.

I really enjoy the food from Everest! Nepalese is awesome, and several of their dishes seem very true to tradition. I only wish the downtown location were still open!

Loved this friendly little place. The buffet was a great choice. Wish there were more meat options but that is okay because the taste was there for sure. The rice pudding was super delicious and extra coconutty! Next time, I would like to try a Korean dish off the menu.

Quickly Everest has become one of my favorite places in the Grove. Fantastic selection at the lunchtime buffet. Great way to try new things if you aren’t really sure what to order. Plenty for meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans alike. Don’t skip on the clear sweet potato noodles. They are weirdly unassuming, but have incredible flavor and will make you come back for more time and time again. Can’t stay? Pile high a to-go box and you’ll be in and out the door before you know it. Simple and clean décor. Focus is on the food and the patron.

Great place for a buffet. There are so many options to try for a reasonable price. The buffet is only around $ 10 per person. The service is good for such a small restaurant and everyone was nice.

Rarely give 5 stars on principle but this restaurant could change all that. Tucked away in the Grove, your taste buds can travel around Asia and be very happy. I had bulgogi, my friend had dal baat vegetarian, paneer, all had amazing blend of spices and flavors. Garlic naan… yum! Great portions so you can enjoy for another meal. Nice staff, too.

The chili Paneer is one of the best things I’ve ever had. It’s very hot but not torturous hot. The chicken Tikka Masala was disappointing(Sameems down the street is the best & every Indian joint in this city makes a better Tikka Masala) and the lamb/shrimp/chicken kabobs were just ok. But when we mixed everything with the left over chili paneer veggies/spices all of our meals suddenly became amazing. They have King Fischer beer too. We will go back just for the Chili Paneer and beer.

Omg this place. I’ve been here a couple times for the lunch buffet and once for dinner. First off, I had never even heard of a Korean/Nepalese fusion place anywhere(I don’t even know if others exist), so that in itself is pretty cool. The price for the lunch buffet is pretty damn good, at around $ 10? The selection is great too, with your prime suspects of tikka masala, birhyani, naan, jap chae, etc. The buffet definitely leans more Nepalese as opposed to Korean but considering that I love both equally I don’t really have a problem with that. Of course the quality of the food isn’t gonna be as good as if you were having it at a sit down Nepalese or Korean restaurant, but it’s pretty damn good for what it is. Anyway if you’re going for quantity of food for a low price, Everest Café is a good bet. As for dinner, the prices are definitely higher and there’s still a choice between Korean and Nepalese, though the Nepalese side is more extensive. I would say that the Nepalese food is better and more authentic than the Korean food(I ordered a Bibimbap and have definitely had better at other places), but again you can’t go wrong with either. Also there’s the option to buy Everest Café merchandise shirts and stuff which is pretty cool. Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis!

My husband and I had lunch here last week with some friends who were home for the holidays. I’ve never been to a restaurant with this kind of range of cuisine, but as soon as someone says Indian I’m interested! We went on a Wednesday afternoon around 12:30p. One person was lucky enough to get a meter right out in front, someone found a spot about a block away and I parked about three blocks away. It was obviously quite busy, so I guess it just comes down to luck! But we only had about a five minute wait to be seated which I thought was great considering how crowded they were! After putting our things down on our table, we hurried off to the buffet line to see what our options would be. I have to say that I am not a huge fan of vegan food, so I was skeptical of the couple options I saw on the buffet. However, I decided to give it a try just in case. Boy am I glad I did! One was a curried zucchini that was absolutely fantastic! It had one of the creamiest, yummiest sauces I think I’ve ever tasted! It tasted great with the sweet potato noodles, too! My other favorite dish was the curried chicken. Because you can’t go wrong with more curry or with chicken! I quite enjoyed this little buffet and I will definitely return!

This place is filthy and the staff is very rude. I found a matted piece of hair in my food and the manager did not seem to think it was a big deal. The food is good but the place should be shut down by the health department.

The food here is pretty good, one of the best Indian restaurants in the St Louis area. They kinda have a fusion style buffet. It’s a mix of Korean, Indian and some others. There is a lot of vegetarian dishes so whoever is vegetarian, this place will suit you well. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is OK. I don’t particularly like the location being at the Grove but what can you do.

I’ve been to a fair number of Himalayan restaurants, trying to find one that equals the amount of deliciousness as Everest. This has yet to happen and I still get to excited every time I come home to St. Louis to eat here. That buffet, oh my word. I can’t stop eating the chop chae(sp?) noodles, and dream of them as soon as I have to head back to Atlanta. Love the Grove and love this place sooo much, can’t wait for my next holiday break to get back here.

My disappointment was as big as my anticipation to try out this place after reading the reviews. Went there for lunch and had their lunch buffet. I am not going to comment on Nepalese food as I have not had chance to try before, but for the Indian and Korean dishes… wow, never had it this bad. Wondering if all the Unilocalers who were raving about the food here ever had any authentic Indian or Korean food. A couple of Korean dishes they had on the lunch buffet were nothing close to Korean food.

Great lunch time buffet with a great price! This place gets pretty packed for lunch on weekdays so try to get in a little bit early to get a table. There’s a lot of curries and it’s vegetarian friendly. Some Korean food is added to the Nepalese style foods. Nice spot for some quick lunch and friendly service.

I’ve been to their restaurant at least a half-dozen times but somehow have never written them a review. My most recent visit was with the ISC and I think we overwhelmed them a little. Note to others considering bringing a large group… plan to be very patient with the process, be sure you remember what you order and listen up when they start bringing out plates of food because they will have no idea who ordered what. I went for their mixed grill because I could not settle on what I wanted. Probably not the best choice as almost everything on the plate was a bit overcooked. All the flavors were right but I probably would have done better with something in a sauce because the right sauce can hide all sorts of culinary sins. I am definitely coming back again and will try to do a better job of understanding my surroundings so that I order better. I was also hugely distracted by the excellent company and conversation but that is a hazard of attending the ISC events — too many great people to chat with and not enough time.

Thanks to a fellow Unilocaler, I now know how amazing Everest Café & Bar is! I’m always looking for new places to try and International Supper Club brought me here. I love that it’s in The Grove. It’s in a fun area and plus it’s near me ;). It’s a decent sized space. We came on a Thursday for dinner and it had a crowd but nothing crazy. For my meal I went with something familiar: Bulgogi w/Beef and Garlic Naan. It was sooo good. The Naan was doughy and undercooked on a few pieces but still tasty. The Bulgogi was served on top of giant pile of spinach and perfectly cooked white rice. I mixed it all together for one taste dish. I love that they added so much spinach. It made me feel healthy and added a lot of substance to the dish. Plus it helped with some of the grease along with the rice. I wish I knew more about Nepalese food. I should probably come back and order something off he Nepalese side of the menu. Any suggestions?

What a time to be alive! Had the pleasure of experiencing Everest Café & Bar for our ISC evening out and enjoyed myself immensely. What better way to dine than in the presence of great company. The place is small but the 2 young ladies assigned to our table did OK with our group 14 foodies. I chose the Chicken Bibimbap served with Kimchi along with an order of the Garlic Naan. The Bibimbap was award winning! The flavors were bursting with joy on my palette. Although I only sampled the Veggie Momo, it was divine and I’m definitely ordering my own next time(because there will be a next time). This family owned establishment has plenty of character and even more integrity(as you’ll see in a letter from the owner on your table top). The only sour note would be the time it took to close my tab. I waited at least 20 minutes for this transaction to be finalized after submitting my payment. For some reason the server(s) were very confused when it came to splitting the checks. Nothing to cry over just noting the facts. I’ll be bacccck! ~Christy

Kudos to Everest for maintaining its integrity in providing clean, fresh, authentic Indian/Nepalese food to STL. Sure, the service isn’t 5 stars. But the food is worth it. We started with the Appetizer Plate — which was huge! 2 samosas, lots of pakoras, with tamarind chutney and another sweeter sauce. All tasted much fresher than the average. No stale oil, and lighter and fluffier than you’d expect(probably because they use Panko breadcrumbs instead of the usual batter). We both ordered one of the Thalis, which are HUGE. Be hungry! They were incredibly authentic and fresh-tasting. We felt full and satisfied at the end of our meal, rather than heavy and bloated. We were able to take home some of our leftovers and it tasted great the second time around! Get the Chiya — I’m a Chai fanatic, and it was a perfect cup of tea.

Our International Supper Club scores again. This establishment offers, Indian, Korean and Nepalese food. Kind of a big range of styles. I chose Korean and my exposure to that lands food was been kimchi. I ordered first a bowl of lentil soup. I was having difficulty figuring out the stock for the soup but I thinks it was a vegetable stock. At first taste I was somewhat underwhelmed. As I keep going I found that the taste was really outstanding and it took me a few tries to get used to the subtleness of the soup. For my entre I ordered Bi bim bap. As this was new to me I found this dish to contain rice and vegetables ie spinach, bean sprouts, carrots, mushrooms, egg and lettuce and cucumbers and chicken. I found the Bi bim bap to be a most excellent dish. I really enjoyed the collision of all the flavors. I was a clean plater. No left overs for me. I always like to give a big congrats to Sarah for putting these events on. She is amazing and finding great places.

Service was extremely weird. I only had an hour for lunch and wasted 20 minutes standing by the front door while others crammed in with me in the small waiting area. The entire time I stood by two large tables of people who were obviously(no plates, empty cups) long finished with their meals. There were other tables that also seemed to be taking a relaxed approach to lunch. I guess the servers couldn’t kick them out, but there was no interaction happening with the customers to say«hey, there’s a bunch of people waiting, and you guys have been finished for half an hour.» I couldn’t decide if I was more annoyed with the inconsiderate customers or the useless servers. Half my waiting time I felt like I was engaged in some weird eye contact game with the 3 – 4 servers in which they dared me to ask about the three tables that had opened up. I don’t understand why, during a busy lunch rush, you wouldn’t use all the tables. When I was seated, the table next to me sat empty while 2 single guys and a family of 4 anxiously eyed me, no doubt wondering the same things I had been wondering. The mom in the group actually offered to crowd around the small table, but the server said no. The food was okay-all Indian from what I could tell. Not good enough to justify going back.

Thursday night at 8pm: we walk in as a Party of three and the waitress says we will have to wait. There are 3 open 2 tops and a couple sitting at a table designed for 4. Over the next 10 or 15 minutes 8 or so people enter behind us and the waitress doesn’t even greet them. We are all piled up at the door and it’s really awkward to get out or in of the restaurant and we are encroaching on the tables by the door. Finally she calls out for parties of 2 — no thought of rearranging their two tops to accommodate the 3 of us. The lack of time and space management here was really unimpressive. However, once we were seated the service was efficient. The chicken tiki masala was really quite good(one of the better I’ve had) The special Y noodle(Korean seafood ramen) was by no means lacking flavor — very interesting. Garlic naan is always good. Interesting blend of Korean/Nepalese/Indian in one spot.

Came here on a Sunday night about an hour before closing and got in right away; there weren’t too many other patrons there. The decoration is really nice. Then, the smells hit you. So many spices mingling in your nose make you really hungry! The place smells so tasty that you just want to be brought anything at all on the menu. That’s why I decided pretty quickly and didn’t worry. I think I would have liked most anything. We got an appetizer – pakoras. I wasn’t sure what was in them… zucchini? Eggplant? There were 6 which I think is really worthwhile. My dining partner got pork Mo-mo, which we were warned was spicy, and it was. But really worth it, and good. It was a lot of food overall, we both had to take home boxes(I am eating my box right now, even though we just got back. Leftovers just as good). I got the chicken with vegetables thukpa. The chicken was quite dry, despite the sauce, and the vegetables were… interestingly, zucchini, bell pepper, and green beans. Do they have those vegetables in Tibet? And, I know that rice is rice, but their long grain rice was especially flavorful to me. I don’t even like rice that much but I kept eating this rice! Although my thukpa was thin, it mixed perfectly with the rice so that I didn’t have a liquidy residue at the bottom of my plate! One thing I am confused about is that the menu specified that thukpa is a noodle dish. A quick Google search confirms, but I definitely didn’t get noodles. Was I supposed to have specified noodles? Or did I maybe just get chicken and vegetables? I was not feeling picky tonight, so I let it slide. It was good, and I’m sure they would have switched my food if I had asked, because our waitress assured us that if my friend’s mo-mo was too spicy they would. I recommend this place because where else are you going to eat Tibetan and Korean cuisine?

Came here with some friends that were visiting from out of town. This place caught my wife and my eye due to the«type of food» description. Himalayan/Nepalese, Korean, Indian… wow that’s a lot of different countries packed into one. We went on a Sunday night, so the restaurant wasn’t packed. We were seated immediately and started looking through the menu. There were a lot of classics from each country. For Korea, there was bibmbap. For India, there was chicken tikka masala. I’m not sure what a staple dish for Nepal is so I’m not going to guess. We started off with an order of the meat mo-mo as an appetizer. I asked the waitress if the dish was really spicy, but she said it was just a little spicy. I was thinking to myself… it’s probably really really spicy to me, and well it was. Actually, it was really spicy to everyone. Though the spiciness didn’t stop us from eating the little dumpling looking things. They were packed with flavor. Really good, but next time I would definitely order the less spicy version if they have one. For the main course, I had the chicken tikka masala with a side of basmati rice. The chicken tikka masala was just okay. I felt like there wasn’t as much flavor to the sauce portion as I would have liked. The chicken was cooked well, but I wish I had a little more of it. 3.5 out of 5 for me. I would definitely come back and try some more dishes though.

All you need to know: VEGETABLEKORMA. Okay, now that that’s out of the way. I was fortunate to come here during the lunch buffet for my first trip, since I got to sample a variety of dishes and at only $ 9.95/person. I’ve never been to a buffet and gotten in so many servings of vegetables. I ate until I was overstuffed and didn’t have the usual grease hangover. Always a plus. The food ranged from edible to OMGVEGETABLEKORMA. The japchae had a lot of flavor too, though I am used to thinner noodles. Some of the other dishes I didn’t really care for but ate anyway and wasn’t too turned off. Did not care for the butter chicken. The rice pudding was tasty, but I wasn’t thrilled by the mango pudding. The dal(lentil soup) was kind of watery and salty. The rice(white basmati and fried) was nice, and so was the naan. To quote my zucchini-hating boyfriend: «This place may have successfully gotten me to enjoy eating zucchini.» I think it was in the pakora and OMGVEGETABLEKORMA. The service was friendly when present, although inattentive on this visit. My boyfriend finished his glass of water at the beginning of the meal, and it never got refilled. Our empty plates didn’t get picked up until after we’d gotten the check. I was conflicted about how much to tip, since we basically didn’t get any service, but I stuck to a little over 20% on the pre-tax amount(normally I do at least 20% post-tax). I would like to return some day.
