Not really exciting during the day, but at night, it comes alive. Bands. Full bar. Plastic cups. :( You are not allowed to stand outside a talk late at night since it disturbs the hotel guests. Clean.

Fireside after dinner drinks(Rum Runner on the Rocks for My wife, water with cranberry with lime wedge for me). Todd is a great bartender. Everything was great. Tonight’s quiet which is a nice contrast to the beachside tiki bars.

Red Beard’s is awesome! Great food and priced very reasonably. The staff are very friendly. By far the best bang for your buck! I went there several times will visiting Freeport and always had a great time, great food, and good beer! Next time I’m back in Freeport, I’ll be back at Red Beard’s!

Kind of a cheesy hotel bar. Named after the Red Beard pirate that supposedly roams the property, he was no where to be found on the several visits here. The drinks were highly priced and very small. The hours open were very random and strangely it was closed all day on some days.

Just a bar, really. Nice and cool in there with ok bartender(s). Not much else to add from previous reviewers. The beer selection is decent but a but pricey.

I’ve decided to write this review still tipsy and fresh off a burn… 2.5 stars but I’m a positive thinker so I side with 3. This is a tiny bar on the campus of Tradewinds — Island Grand. We went on the recommendation from a bartender for a good karaōke spot. The prices for drinks were reasonable — 6 blue moons ran about $ 36 dollars — average for Miami but a bit on the high side for this area. Tradewinds is kind of pretentious though so I“ll give it to them. Service at the bar was great, no complaints there. My low star-age is due to the karaōke system. The master, Kevin, commented that he could download any song not in the binder and after several people were called up and our request not being met(Need You Now, Lady Antebellum), we decided to change our song(Heal the world, MJ), figuring he didn’t download it. After several liquid courages, I decided to do a solo but decided I couldn’t hear a 6th song being sung by a pitchy ass girl before my name got called and left. As we were exiting, Kevin mentioned we couldn’t leave without singing again — hello — I filled out a card with an already assigned song not needing to be downloaded and a pretty common karaōke song at that — Livin’ on a prayer — and you let pitchy girl sing 3 times before me? Nah, I’ll save my vocal chords for my boyfriend, thanks! If you’re looking for a place to be entertained — this is the spot. If you’re looking for a place to showcase your mediocre talents, look somewhere else. The bar is great, the karaōke is not. Yes, I left a ‘you’ve been Unilocaled card’ in the bushes b/c i forgot I had them until we left.

Sharktooth Tavern is a little bar located right in the middle of the Tradewinds Resort. We stopped in here a couple times while we stayed at the Tradewinds and had a good time. They have live music and karaōke on Monday nights. We were there for a karaōke night and the bar was pretty packed. The guy who hosted the karaōke was pretty good but a little ridiculous. There was even a time when the only bartender took the mic for a song and no one was man-ing the bar. In the middle of the song, he looked at the people at the bar and said I’ll be right with you. I found it very funny. All in all, the place has a more unique feel than a regular hotel bar. They have all the same drinks and drink prices as the rest of the bars in the Tradewinds. If you are staying at the hotel, you should stop by.

Though some write of this as a ‘pirate-themed– bar, I found it to be more of a fisherman’s hang out, replete with hundreds of photos of people holding up Tarpon, Mackerel, White Fish. you name it. There’s fishing rods hanging from the ceiling and all sorts of fishing-oriented things displayed. Fisherman Tim was the bartender and he happily explained what kind of fish the people in the photos were holding/. A nice selection of beers on tap, a laid-back atmosphere. he told me they have karoke on Monday nights and live music on the weekends. I believe they also serve a killer gumbo as well. Not really a pirate hangout but if one likes talking fishing, it is the place to come.
