Sirata Beach Resort

Plan and simple my first time there and my last, they stuck me in there oldest room. Horible.. Nothing good except beach

The one star is for it pretty much being on the beach. But the rooms are soooo gross! I mean mold all over. I’m no hotel snob but this place just took the cake. Yuck! I ordered a baby crib for my daughter and it literally looked like it was never cleaned! Ever! So much crumbs and left over food pieces and dirty. Needless to say my whole family got sick once we got home… so yea that was fun. Oh wait… How can I forget! When we called the front desk for extra sheets to attempt to cover the crib up after spending I don’t no how long cleaning it, the house keeper literally knocked once followed by a «hold on a second»… Ever so slightly cracks open the door to throw the extra sheets on the floor through the cracked door!!! I was just done. I’m pretty sure besides the mold on the curtains there was mold from the AC vents. I never been so happy to leave from a «vacation» before. Don’t let the pictures fool you. Do yourself a favor and get another hotel.

I am torn about this review. I have not been back to the area in over 8 years. We wanted to visit and have the kids enjoy the beach. The location of this hotel is amazing. I used to hang out at this beach every Saturday, back in the day. The rooms are dated, but they were comfortable. Everything in the area is a little 70s, 80s décor, but I already knew that. We loved being able to walk out of our room, grab some towels and be on the beach. We had a full size fridge. The grocery store is less than a block away, so you could stock up on some groceries, however there are so many places you could easily get meals around the area. I mainly kept stuff for the kids. My little ones loved being on the beach as long as possible. I knew the area, so I didn’t need to request anything from the hotel employees, so I didn’t really interact with anyone besides the check in person.

If you have KIDS: do NOT stay in one of the buildings next to the restaurants. They play music so loud the floors shook every night until 10pm and according to their calendar this is a nightly event. I felt like we were in a room above a super loud rock concert. Hotel doesn’t care either, they’ll just tell you «oh I’ll tell them to turn it down» then do nothing.

Suites on 6^th level don’t have an actual balcony (Just sliding door with railing aka: Juliet balcony)
Tubs need to be replaced — flooring of tub makes noise when standing on it.
Décor needs to be changed out ASAP
Sinks need to be replaced
Tub had hair in that was definitely not mine.
Service:
I used Über several times and the guard entry staff seemed confused and weren’t able to direct the über drivers into the resort
My friend checked in a day later and they had given her room away to someone else which resulted in her staying in a room 2 doors down rather than in the adjacent room that would have been much more convenient.
Overall though, a great place

The rooms are decent. Onsite restaurants and bars pretty good… We really love St. Pete beach and the cheap amenities that Sirata offers for kids/​families.
We’ve stayed a handful of times and always have had good service. If you sign up for a club card you get 10% off at restaurants and bars on site too!

My sister had her wedding here this weekend. The guest service desk manager was horrible and the guest service was horrible.
My sister spent alot of, money to have her wedding here. Not only that her wedding brought several guests to the hotel and even with the discount rate it was $ 200 a night. With over 70 guests at $ 200 a night for 2 nights you can do the math on how much she brought in. That does not include the cost of the wedding which was over $ 20,000.
Well anyways, my mother and father (the bride’s mother and father), and my brother and his fiancé, and I arrived at the hotel at about 1:30. Our rooms were not ready and they said they would call us when it was ready. Well about 4:10 we want to know what is going on with our room. We are upset because we have been sitting around for hours and nothing has happened.
My brother and I let the guest service know how we feel but they don’t do anything but say «well checkin begins at 4pm that doesn’t mean you get your room then. It can be later.» So my brother says we want to check out later and we don’t want you to charge us.
Well there is some back and forth and then they threaten to call security on us. The manager that did this was Merissa. All the while people without reservations are getting keys to their rooms. We made reservations for our rooms almost a year in advance.
There was no apology or nothing.
In all fairness this is what happened afterwards. My sister, the bride, heard what happened and went to talk to a different manager about what happened. He did give my parents and us one night free, and he gave us a free breakfast voucher and any of their restaurants. Does that make up for how they treated us initially? I will let you decide for yourself.
However for me, I will never go to this place again because of that.

This place was horrible! Roaches and ants in the room! Very loud music at night and early morning! Couldn’t sleep for nothing! I will never recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever stay here again! I only gave it 1 star because it’s directly on the beach.

Worst hotel ever! I booked a ocean view two queen bed suite and was sent to a one double bed room facing the street. Next I was sent to a two double bed room with a bathroom that had vomit and hair left in it. The key pad locked us out several times bc the batteries were dead. They gave us a «free» night but charged me for it and I’m still waiting for my refund. Would never pay $ 300 for this dump with terrible service again.

Had a great time at this resort. My sister and I visited for the first time in March 2016 for my 30^th birthday. They have great access to the beach, 3 bars and restaurants, and 3 pools. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely return for another long weekend!

Overall, this place served its purpose. The location is great and the amenities are great for the whole family. On the outside, the resort looks nice but the rooms are sub par. The room was clean when we got there but was disappointed the next day when we got in and our room didn’t get cleaned. At around 4 p.m., the housekeeper knocked to clean the room but my daughter was sleeping. I asked her nicely to come back and she had an attitude as if she was the guest.
We were on the second floor of the smaller building and the stairs were located in inconvenient locations.
I would come back here again because of the location, but I certainly hope that they have plans to renovate the rooms.

Pool scene is nice. Live music everyday.
Beach is beautiful. Chairs are available for a price as are all water related activities. Very convenient.
Staff is nice. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.
This place would be great, but The rooms are well below average. The layout makes no sense. We got a suite and the bedroom is in the front and the living space in the back. It has a table and a food out couch and a joke of a hot tub. There is water damage all around it and mushrooms growing out of the ground. At least the bed was good though.
You can probably find a better value elsewhere.

Huge resort, fantastic beach access, rooms need help, they are renovating so hopefully it will get better. Had a bad mixup with my debit card, but they fixed it.
Banquet staff and food was the best part of this trip! they were friendly, awesome, on point, and the food was the best banquet food I’ve had!

Just back from my vacation in Tampa-​Clearwater-​St Pete and can’t rave enough about Sirata. We found them on Hotel Tonight at a steal of a rate and were so pleased with the choice. I don’t know that we could have asked for more actually out of a resort: the location is beachside and offers cabanas and chairs with sun umbrella at an affordable rate. There are two pools and a hot tub with a bar close by and the resort is a short walk away from a string of seafood restaurants. And they also have hammocks strung up around the resort for a secluded snooze. The rooms are standard but no one goes to the beach to hang out in their room. They also have the Comfort Grille where we ate for breakfast. I thought the food was fine and the server was right there without notice whenever we needed a coffee refill at breakfast. I did notice our waitress was noticeably stressed — athough I’m not sure why because the restaurant wasn’t that crowded. It seems that visitors on Unilocal give generous ratings to Florida businesses when they really should not be that high — but Sirata is a legitimate 5-​star stay.

I visited St Petes beach on a solo vacation, yes, I traveled there alone. While looking for a place to stay location was a big factor for me. I wanted a resort where I could eat and drink and not have to leave the resort and I wanted to be right on the beach. I was also looking for an affordable place. This resort was everything that I put on my wish list.
Check in went smoothly, my room was ok, very standard but I was not there to spend time in my room. The beach was literally a few feet away.
I had dinner and lunch at Rum Runners and the food was ok. The drinks, a punch of some sort was deliciously strong. I enjoyed sitting by the bar and enjoying my time alone. Their pool was nice too and it was not too crowded while I was there.
I loved my vacation and I felt safe and comfortable my entire stay there. There are hotels near by with bars and restaurants and you don’t need to drive to get there. Great location, decent accommodations, fun bars and right on the beach. Can’t beat that!

Stayed for four nights. Rooms are just ok. Lobby/​reception area is nice with water/​bubble features and friendly staff. Rooms are not as nice as the lobby. Said to be typical for the area and budget.
Location of course is outstanding (St Pete Beach), and Harrys beach bar on the beach is always a good time with great staff, food and drinks.

*NOTE: this review is only for the resort. Obviously St Pete beach is very nice and beautiful, but the hotel itself is a huge issue.
My boyfriend and I came here for our friend’s destination wedding.
We split a room with 2 of our other friends to keep the price as affordable as possible. With taxes and parking, the total was right over $ 400 for two nights. Not terrible, but as others have mentioned, the rooms could have certainly been nicer for this price point.
Here is where the 1 star rating comes in.
As mentioned, we were splitting this room between four people. My boyfriend and I tried to make this as easy as possible on the staff at the front desk by paying cash (they also said there would be no issue with splitting payment). One of our friends put the remaining balance on his card, so it was only split two ways. Easy enough.
We checked out on Saturday and my boyfriend and I continued our vacation in Orlando. The trouble came on Monday morning as we were traveling back home to Ohio. He got a notification that his bank account was in the negative, because the resort had placed a hold of $ 450 on the card he had used to reserve the room, EVEN THOUGH this card was not used at ANY TIME for the payment of the room. We had used cash! This amount also EXCEEDED the amount that we paid! Now I understand if there were to be a small hold, maybe $ 100, just in case we had in fact wreaked havoc on our room (we did not). But a hold of more than what we were originally charged? This is absolutely ridiculous to me, and it obviously caused a lot of distress and irritation for my boyfriend.
Someone at the resort explained to him that this was an «incidental charge» that would drop off of his bank account… In 2 – 3 business days. Again, absurd. I will be filing with the BBB about this because I find this practice to be absolutely ludicrous. Please consider our experience before you give this resort your business.

Love the fact that they offered a free night for Memorial day for service members, (such as myself), for only one of three nights, Mon — Wed. In any event, the place was nice, it had two pools, a jacuzzi and 200ft from the beach. Can’t ask for anything more.
Just the mere fact that they offered a free night for service members… I’ll definitely be back, and I will be bringing friends.

Siera is like most of the hotels on St. pete beach, small rooms with not a lot of frills but beautiful settings. A few different pools, ping pong and pools tables available.
Location 5 stars– right in the center is St. Pete beach with many restaurants, drug stores, liquor stores, and shops nearby.
Rooms 3 stars– all rooms 300 – 350 sq feet, with basic amenities and beds are okay for sleeping.
Food 3 stars– overall good options to choose from and prices are reasonable for a resort hotel. Good options for kids.
Setting 5 stars– right on the ocean with miles of white sand beaches and Harry’s Beach Bar make for a great relaxing Florida vacation.
Great place if your coming for the beach and the Sun!!!

I got married at the Sirata on 04.06.13.
For me, it was the perfect combination of affordability, proximity to the beach, and space. We had a lot of guests coming from out of town and I wanted them to be able to have a vacation… and also not worry about driving all over the place!
We were married on the beach, then had our cocktail hour on the «deck» I also believe they may have referred to it was the grotto. We then had our reception in the second floor ball room. I chose that room over the top floor ball room because if felt more «grand.» I didn’t like the low ceilings in the ballroom upstairs, and while the room had a fantastic view, it felt a little dated.
Kelli Love helped me coordinate everything and I couldn’t have asked for anything more! She was beyond helpful and thought of everything before I could even think of it!
Why 4 stars? Some of the hotel rooms were a little gross/​dated. The rooms in the main part of the hotel were nice, but many of the other «side» buildings could use a little reno. The parking situation was a little difficult, but I understand why they are strict and charge for parking. The food on the resort (including the reception) was okay, but could use a little updating as well.
Overall, I LOVED my wedding/​wedding day. It was stress free and so much fun! The Sirata was fantastic because there were no «hidden fees» that came up at the end of the wedding, I knew what the price would be when I signed the contract. I would definitely recommend it as a wedding venue.

Wir waren für 3 Nächte im Oktober, d.h. außerhalb der Saison, im
Sirata. Folglich war das Hotel trotz guten Wetters nur teilweise belegt. Das Sirata Hotel wurde vermutlich in den 1950er oder 1960er Jahren gebaut und seither offenbar nicht grundsaniert. Das Hotel hat einen direkten Zugang (nur ca. 25 Meter) zum feinsandigen Strand, der optimal zum Baden und Schwimmen ist. Auch der Poolbereich (mit Whirlpool) ist attraktiv und gepflegt. Der Pool ist für Nichtschwimmer jedoch ungeeignet. Die Mitarbeiter des Hotels waren durchweg sehr freundlich. Leider konnte uns die Qualität der Zimmer nicht überzeugen. Im Hinblick auf den relativ günstigen Preis (90 US$ pro Nacht für 2 Erwachsene und 1 Kind) wäre die überschaubaren Größe des Zimmers noch in Ordnung gewesen. Das erste Zimmer mussten wir allerdings ablehnen: Die Klimaanlage war so laut, dass man das Gefühl hatte, sich in einem Schiff neben dem Maschinenraum zu befinden. Die entsprechende Reklamation wurde sofort akzeptiert und wir haben stattdessen ein Zimmer mit Meerblick (und intakter Klimaanlage) bekommen. Das neue Zimmer wirkte jedoch recht feucht und hatte einen leicht muffigen Geruch. Es fehlten Möglichkeiten zum Trocknen der Badesachen. An der Badezimmertür waren Ansätze von Schimmel vorhanden. In der zweiten Nacht bemerkten wir dann auch Kakerlaken im Zimmer, was doch ziemlich unangenehm war. Das Frühstück im Restaurant haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen, da es für uns (2 Erwachsene, 1 Kind) 36 US$ pro Tag extra gekostet hätte. Das ist im Vergleich zu anderen Frühstücksmöglichkeiten, sogar in unmittelbarer Umgebung, teuer. Aus dem gleichen Grund haben wir das kostenpflichtige W-​LAN (10 US$ pro Tag) nicht genutzt. Für das Parken auf dem hoteleigenen Parkplatz wurden 8 US$ pro Nacht in Rechnung gestellt. Wir würden das Sirata nicht noch einmal wählen, da die Zimmer unseres Erachtens weder technisch noch qualitativ den heutigen Anforderungen entsprechen.

Das Hotel ist okay für 1 — 2 Nächte. Die Zimmer sind klein und sauber. Toll im Sirata Beach ist die direkte Strandlage. Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es, allerdings kostenpflichtig. Kostenloses W-​Lan ist nur in den öffentlichen Bereichen verfügbar. Das Hotel verfügt über einen Pool, der ist auch beheizt. Was auf keinen Fall zu empfehlen ist, ist das Hoteleigene Resturant. Das Essen ist eher mittelmäßig und die Getränke schmecken alle nach Chlor.
