Like every other reviewer, this place deserves negative stars. Forget whether or not it is inhumane in its treatment of animals, it’s inhumane in its treatment of human beings. Here’s my story. Over 6 months ago, my wife and I used All Star to get rid of a squirrel which was stuck in our attic. To be fair, the exterminator All Star sent was very kind and professional. He did his job. He told us, however, that he would have to return in order to perform an anti-microbial service, which destroys any fecal matter left in the attic by the squirrel. Months passed, and we never heard anything from All Star again. We never received a bill, a phone call, nor an email message. Without any warning, a nasty debt collector calls my wife and immediately begins berating her and informing her that she owes All Star $ 384 and some odd cents. My wife explained to the collector that we had never received a bill from All Star, but we would be happy to speak directly with them and settle the matter. Believe it or not the collector protested and said, «You must pay me directly.» At first we thought the collector was a fraud, but it turns out that he’s just a bully, or, if you prefer, low-life scum. Even though my name was nowhere on the contract, he started calling me at work. At first he told my secretary that he was a long lost friend, and he attempted to manipulate my secretary into giving him my personal phone number and email address. Since nothing is private these days, the collector got ahold of my private email address and starting emailing me. Since I’m a doctor, he began to berate me saying in writing, «If you’re really as educated as you claim, you wouldn’t be telling me lies.» I promptly told him to cease and desist, and he sent a few more emails to me, then he called my wife and harassed her some more. Meanwhile, someone at All Star said she would get in touch with us by the end of the business day. Guess what? She didn’t. Then, the collector sent us a series of emails that included messages from someone at All Star – private messages mind you – in which All Star told the collector that they would contact us on Monday. Again, the collector told us that we must pay and pay now. By my count, the collector has violated at east 5 major FTC laws, and I cannot fathom why All Star uses these kinds of people. We told a messenger at All Star that we would be happy to pay our bill, but that they needed to explain to the debt collector that we wouldn’t deal directly with him. But All Star seems to care very little about its customers, so much so that in one of its emails to the collector, All Star claimed it didn’t have time to settle the issue by the end of the business day. In fairness to one of the workers at All Star, they didn’t give permission to the debt collector to continue harassing us. And I should add that the debt collector has done everything by phone and email. Not once did he send us a «notice of validation» or whatever it’s called, which is required under Federal Law. Here’s the thing: you really have to wonder if a company cares about its customers when it uses low-life bullies like the debt collector I’m describing. Where’s the justice? Where’s the protection for the consumer? If you’re stuck with All Star, I suggest getting out as quickly as possible and turning them into the BBB. If you’re dealing with one of their bullies, then I would suggest turning them into your State’s Attorney General. That’s what they’re there for. Don’t forget, people, we do still have a voice as consumers.
