Incredible experience! Had couple’s deep tissue and relaxation for $ 54! The service and atmosphere were incredible and soothing! Every time we visit St. Pete this is a mandatory stop! The aromatherapy was so soothing. The masseuse found parts on my back and shoulders that were sore that I didn’t even realize. If I lived there, this would be weekly!

I went last Sunday for a pamper myself day and let me tell you it was awesome! Lottie dotty (Laura) she gives one of the best massages! Thank you!

Yet another great experience at Essentials! First things first: Note that they’ve moved to Downtown St. Pete, on 6^th St. S between Central Ave. and 1^st St. S. I found out the owner is opening another location soon on 4^th St. near 38^th so keep an eye out for that too.
Anyway, I got a 60 min massage from James today and it was very relaxing. He was very polite and just asked me to let him know if I wanted more or less pressure. I never had to speak again because he knew what he was doing! I walked out feeling nice and refreshed.
The facility is very nice and modern, not to mention very convenient! I enjoyed walking down to a restaurant in DTSP after my massage to enjoy the nice weather. Give this location a shot in downtown — I still cannot find a better, more affordable massage.
Finally, I’m looking forward to visiting their second new location when it opens and I will update this review again then!

If you haven’t gotten a massage here you are missing out! The people are friendly and professional. Obviously the owner and manager must treat their staff well and it shows. The 90 minute massage is heavenly! I love the new location and will be going back again and again!

After my bad experience, the Owner of the Spa messaged me and offered me her apology, and also asked that I come back so she can make it right. She scheduled everything I asked for and even moved some things around so I could get the therapist I liked. I will be going back!

I usually go to the Essentials in St Pete, off Central and I’ll be returning to the other location because my experiences at the 4^th St location are never fully satisfying… The massage was good the therapist worked on my knots, hands of the entire time, good techniques but the experience wasn’t relaxing. She chattered a lot… There’s a fine line between a nice greeting, briefly talking related to the massage and being annoying. I received detailed information about her life, including her social media; I’m too nice to be rude and ask her to stop talking. She finally took the hint off and on once I stopped responding. Why I took off 1 star of the rating.
Secondly, I didn’t receive the $ 5 discount with the coupon I brought in to use. The receptionist accepted my coupon even cut out the other coupons but when I paid she never gave me the discount! I didn’t realize this till I left because I was drained from work, and the chatty therapist. Why I took off 2 stars of the rating. Not honoring the prices and careless math…

I had an amazing micro peel with TAZLA. My skin feels so new and clean! Definitely recommend this service as well as this fabulous esthetician!

Essentials decorated wonderful very casual elegance different from what I expected based on their advertised pricing I decided to try facial because I had been getting some irritation when I shave Sunday steward was my esthetician and she was amazing in fact my facial was even more relaxing than my massages have been in the past she’s very knowledgeable explains each step especially for a guy this is very helpful included was an amazing scalp massage and also I bought a few products and have not had any issue with skin irritation after shaving I definitely will be back

Essentials is an amazing spa. The atmosphere is tranquil and exceptionally clean. I have suffered with acne most of my life. I have used just about every medical procedure possible prescribed by several different dermatologists to clear my acne.
I started with the acne treatments with Sunday… slowing progressing to Oxygen Facials and in a word-​AWESOME! My skin hasn’t been this clear since I was two. I would highly recommend an Oxygen Facial to restore skin to the youthful zeal!

My hair stylist moved here, so I followed and also became a client of the massage therapists. I cannot say enough terrific things about the massage therapists I have used. I have always had issues with my upper back from having a desk job for 20 years so need a therapeutic massage to get the tightness out. Jameson is as good and thorough as any massage I have gotten at a chiropractor’s office. I love the fact specials are offered too. Convenient days/​hours. Also saw Robbie when Jameson was on vacation and now I have to decide who to see. What an issue to have!

My husband wanted a massage for Father’s day, he called and was quoted a price of 99.00 for massage, facial, mani pedi. by Heather.
So a few hours later I called to book it for him, I gave my credit card number to hold in case of a no show.
Then I was told by Callie the package was not 99.00 it was 149.00, I rather give my business elsewhere.

My neck and shoulders were aching for over a week. Jameson Newton took care of all that. I would ask for him again. I’m always nervous going to a spa, but Essentials is a comfortable place. The services are more affordable compared to massage envy. No pressure to sign a contract. Will be back in the future. May try a facial next time! Perhaps get a pedicure! lol

Okay — so it’s not fancy. It lacks the plush spa feel. It feels a little run down when you enter. The reception area is cluttered and messy and there are typically a bunch of staff floating around the front desk. It is the opposite of how you feel with you enter Hand and Stone (which I have a membership to).
With all this said (and I’d love for them to see this email and really clean up/​beautiful the waiting area and entry), this place is WORTH EVERY PENNY! It’s like the Marshalls of massage. You get way more for what you pay for, and what you pay is a deal. This places offers decent massages and facials at a nearly unbeatable price. The staff is friendly and massage therapists do a decent job. It’s not exceptional, but if you are on a budget and you want pampering, this is the place for you. You won’t regret your choice if you keep your expectations in check.

Had a one hour deep tissue with Sarah, anf it was the best ive ever had. She was very nice and concerned about my well being. Ill definitely be returning.

Me & my boyfriend went here for a couple massage. I’ve been to their Palm Harbor location before and loved it so it was nice to find out that they had a location closer to home. I can’t remember our names of the ladies who gave us our massages but the atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. I opted for a deep tissue (having never gotten one before) it was pretty rough so I think I’ll just stick to a relaxation massage next time. They have great deals and are very affordable… we walked out only paying $ 80 for an hour couples massage (1 deep tissue, 1 relaxation)

My first time here. Plenty of parking. The staff is super nice. Had a one hour massage with Yvonne she is terrific. I was in tight and sore from stressed and when I left I was ready to sleep! She is that good.
Nice waiting area very calm and soothing. Lots of items on the menu from massages to facials, hair and nails.
No contracts! Big plus for me.

Every time I have been here they have been super nice and the massage has always been very good and professional! Also, their prices are amazing! I am really impressed with this place because not only can you choose whether or not you want a relaxation massage, a deep tissue, or a combination massage, but the therapists listen and are very attentive if you have problem areas.
Also, I really like the fact that they aren’t pushy here! No contracts or monthly payments… just come when you want and they welcome you! Every time I have gone I called and got in within a few hours. Great!!!

I did a middle rating simply because I didn’t get a chance to visit. I am in the market for a new one stop shop and thought I would try this place. I thought I’ll go in for a trim and wax to see what it’s like.
I called to make an appointment and the person who answered the phone could not help me. She said she would have to take my number and a «hair person» would call me back. Do they not have a receptionist? I’m not sure but either way I never received a call.

Essentials day spa is always a good experience. The therapists know how to give a nice massage. The price is right and you can never go wrong here! Perfect way to relax without burning a hole in your pocket. Highly recommend it. If you want real deep tissue done then go see Michael. Best massage I ever had hands down.

I stopped in for a massage because my back was in pain. Jameson gave me a 1 hour deep tissue massage and was wonderful! He asked me what I needed, what pressure I wanted and really listened.
Great experience for a great price. I will definitely be back.

I treat myself to a relaxation massage on a Tues or Thursday (that’s when it’s $ 25) and I love it!
They also have $ 25 facials on Tues and Thurs. The ladies who do the facials are all amazing. That is one amazing pampering experience.
The massages are a great way to relax, and for $ 25 you can’t beat it!
