Jersey Mike’s Subs

I love this location! Amazing sandwiches and a friendly hard working staff. I highly recommend the cheese steaks. You surely will not be disappointed.

This location is hit or miss depending on who’s working. I will not be returning to this location because of an awful experience I recently had. The gentleman who was making the sandwiches clearly didn’t want to be there and couldn’t crack a smile for anything. Husband ordered a meatball sub and was not asked what size he wanted, whether or not he wanted cheese, onions or mushrooms, the guy just made it. We got home to see that it was simply just meatballs with nothing else. This is not the first time this has happened, not to mention they are over-​priced. If I were you I’d go to your closet Publix and get a Pub sub!

Wow I wished I had these two young men working for me. I don’t do Subs but was with my family and they wanted to grab a bite to eat. Awesome friendy service that was quickly served. The Sub makers worked togethe to make sure that all customers were taken care of & they were very professional. Then they check with customers & made sure everything was clean & tidy. Awesome Job. I was there today 5÷5÷2015 around 6 pm & the Sub was good too.

I come here weekly, every time I come I get #7 which is turkey and the Club sub which is amazing. I really like it mikes way with light lettuce. The employees are beyond amazing and friendly. The cheese and meat is cut fresh in front of you. I absolutely prefer Jersey Mikes over Subway.

So apparently this is a pretty popular and growing Sub Shop chain, but living in Miami most of my life I never heard of it until I moved up here. After a few lukewarm experiences with this areas Jimmy Johns, and getting tired of boring Subway, I thought I’d give this place a shot tonight. To be honest, I thought the food tasted pretty darn good. I ordered a chipotle steak sandwich and the meat was well seasoned and cooked to order on the flat grill (not re-​microwaved mystery steak like Subway). I also got a small Italian. The deli meat wasn’t spectacular, but it had good flavor and the meat and cheese was sliced to order which is pretty cool to see at a chain restaurant and nice to know that it’s fresh. The bread was decent, I think quality wise Jimmy Johns bread is better, but it was at least fresh. You get two choices either white or wheat. I opted for the toasted for my steak sandwich and It certainly could’ve been toasted more! The steak sandwich made it a bit soggy. Most subs come in three sizes small (4.5 in.), regular (7.5 in.), or giant (15 in.) You have a selection veggies to chose on your sandwich, about the same stuff that subway offers, minus a few specific items and can opt to get it «Mike’s Way» which is a combo of veggies and oils typical of a traditional Italian sub. One thing I was disappointed about was that before I got a chance to ask for veggies on my steak sub, it was wrapped up. I asked if I could add some and they said it wasn’t a part of the cheesesteak sub and would be extra… Not sure if that’s legit, or if the gentleman behind the counter was being lazy. I guess my biggest beef with the place is the prices. They are just way too high… The steak sub I got (a giant sized) was 12.95 for the sandwich alone! I made it a combo and the combo (sub, small bag of chips, and a 24oz. fountain drink) came out to 17 bucks! Now I know the sub was huge, and I had leftovers, but that is still ridiculous and certainly not worth it for what you get. I may be back to try more at some point, but the prices will certainly keep me from being a regular for sure!

My first impression of this location started in the parking lot. 5 friends and I decided to come here for our lunch break. The first thing we noticed was everyone staring at us from the windows. odd? When we got inside, it was clean, acceptable, but I was appalled when I heard what one of the managers said. I didn’t hear it at first, but all my friends told me what he said. He told us we couldn’t eat here. So just because I have a large (6 people) we can’t eat inside the place? Good thing I heard this AFTER we ate or else I would have gave him a piece of my mind and left. Anyways, the sand whichever were extremely over priced. Tell me how a 6 inch sub is $ 8? You really don’t get many choices with this place, and they charge extra for sauces etc. You only get a choice of lettuce tomato onions. That’s it. I’ll never go here again when I can simply go to subway and get better food for less, and much better service.

A friend wanted to try JMs so we went the next day of my first review.
The subs were good, the one star comes from their questionable cleaning of the prep counter. The guy behind the counter pulled out a nasty looking wet bar rag from under the counter that looked very dirty and wiped the counter down, then immediately cut the sub roll right on the wet counter. Yuck !
At least dry the counter off with a paper towel, better yet use parchment or butcher paper. Or buy a couple cutting boards and swap them out when one gets messy. I won’t even butter toast on my counter at home, I at least use a paper towel.

Way better than the other chains, first time here, got the #2 mikes way, yum! Split the giant and it was more than enough. Super friendly service, will go back.

I really like this particular shop. I also love the freshness that JM’s offers. Ask for extra «sauce». You’re welcome.

Subway across the street is better. This place uses frozen chicken and no seasoning. Probably the worst sub shop I’ve ever been too. Good service but poor quality. Chicken parm was terrible. Made my stomach hurt within 10 min. Couldn’t eat the chicken, only the bread with bland sauce.
Would not recommend this place unless you lack real taste buds and you have a iron gut.

Great location close to the beaches and Tyrone Mall. Great subs and not that expensive.
