this place… i would eat here breakfast lunch and dinner if i could(and really the only thing holding me back is the fact that i would quickly double my body weight after a short period of time) my husband and i just moved down from new york and spent a month looking around for a delicious, quick, easy breakfast/brunch place like the ones we frequented in our neighborhood when it finally occurred to us «um maybe we should try the spot literally right across the street…» thank god that light bulb went off. the food is creative, the ingredients are fresh, the service is amazing and everything is alarmingly affordable. and their iced coffee… incredible. i’ve been there 4 times(once, twice in the same day… sorry not sorry) and every time is just as delicious as the first. be kind to yourself and stop by here for a meal.

Excellent food and great people. The Spot’s fresh hand-roasted coffee is some of the best I have tasted, and if you are really hungry, this is the place to go for a hearty breakfast or amazing sandwich. The menu is creative, the ingredients fresh, and every order is hand-made with care. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Everything we tried here was delicious. We especially enjoyed the Bruiser(bacon & bleu cheese burger); Tatonka(sriracha fried chicken sandwich); and Manslayer(breakfast burrito). The portions are more than generous and the flavors are huge. Definitely worth a stop anytime you find yourself in St Pete.

Love this place, came here two weeks ago because we saw the«Now Serving Breakfast» sign and we’ve been looking for a great breakfast spot. We’ve been craving their stuffed french toast and breakfast wraps, so we came back today and It was better than we remembered. The staff is so friendly and I love that I never feel rushed to get out of there. We brought our dogs and they came out with some water bowls for them without us asking, which I always really appreciate. I always feel like I’m robbing them when we leave, the comment about it being too expensive makes no sense to me. You can tell this place uses high quality ingredients, and puts that little bit of extra love into the food. $ 20 for coffee and two great entrees is a steal, if you want to pay $ 5 for an entrée go to a fast food place and get the quality you’re paying for. Will definitely be coming back frequently!

Stopped here on a Sunday morning with my boyfriend for brunch. We always get brunch on Sundays and wanted to try some place new. After driving around for a while, we decided to stop in based on the«now serving breakfast» sign hanging above the outside seating. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who told us to sit wherever we would like and that our server would be with us shortly. After sitting for five minutes without being greeted, the man came back and asked for our drink order. We were them sitting for roughly ten minutes and offered us a menu. Our server still had not greeted us(but she had walked by us a multitude of times). Now, I work in hospitality and I am very understanding when it comes to a server who is busy, but this was just outrageous. There were only three tables of customers at the entire restaurant, including us, and one table had already cashed out and the other had ordered. In my mind, that’s no excuse for the wait we had. After being given our menus, we waited about another five minutes before our waitress finally greeted us. After twenty minutes of sitting, without being greeted by our server, we were a little agitated, but we ordered anyway and hoped for the best. The food took 28 minutes from the time we ordered to the time it arrived at our table. Mind you, before we ordered the restaurant had cleared out and we were the only customers. I ordered the stuffed French toast with a side of hash-browns and my boyfriend, Erik, ordered his usual chicken and waffles. While my food was nothing special, or impressive by any stretch of the matter, Erik’s was unacceptable. His chicken was burnt and his waffles were so overcooked that they crumbled when cut. We are not picky people at all, but I know for sure we will definitely not be returning to The Spot.

I was so looking forward to trying this place, based on the reviews I’d read, but it was a total nightmare! My husband and I decided to stop by for lunch last Saturday. It was super hot outside and we had to park a few blocks away so learning they only had three types of ‘beer’ available was extremely disappointing. I wish we had moved on at that point. The options were PBR(really!?!), Newcastle and some kind of apple cider. I ordered their version of a Philly which apparently was made with filet mignon… it was very well done and tough as leather with too much cheese, not enough veg and absolutely no seasoning, not even salt. My side was the much anticipated poutin which was made with home-fries, gelatinous, unheated, straight out of the fridge flavorless gravy(yes I tasted it! unfortunately!), topped with huge blue cheese ‘crumbles’. It was one of the worst things I’ve ever been served anywhere in the world, ever! My husband ordered a sausage hoagie type sandwich, which also had no flavor, was overcooked and was absolutely drowning in flavorless cheese. In addition, the peppers/onions were not even al dente… they were warmed at best, but completely raw. Again, no seasoning. His side was perogies(three!), which were obviously of the frozen variety, with a tiny dollop of sour cream on top of each. They had no flavor and were soggy and still cold in the middle(possibly microwaved???). The waitress was very friendly and polite, but it took almost an hour to get this food and we ended up sending everything back and heading somewhere else. This definitely was one of my worst dining experiences ever.

Just finished lunch here and it was amazing! Had the meatloaf sandwich which was spot on and the poutine hearty and delicious! Such a cool spot with great beer and the food was outstanding! So glad we stopped!

I have been to this place a few times when my vegan sister is in town because of the leafy greens right next door. I love how she can do her vegan thing next door and I can get a craft beer here while sitting outside. I’ve only had the loaded fries which are great, exactly what you’d expect. I guess what I’m saying is they make bar food, and they don’t screw it up in my experience. And the fact that the two restaurants don’t mind working together is why they get a 5 star from me.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants when it first opened. It was pricey, but worth it. It has unfortunately gone WAY downhill since then. Our last visit will be our last ever. We ordered two hamburgers with fries and we ended up asking for them to go because it was so hot inside the restaurant. I heard the waitress say to the cook«you were supposed to make two orders of fries.» We got home and opened our containers and each burger had 4 – 5 fries beside it. They actually split that one small order between us instead of making more fries! Previously we had received more than double that amount for one burger. Then, we went to eat our burgers. My Husbands was ordered medium well. It was not only well done, but burned. My well done burger was also burned and the pineapple on it was all core. These were the WORST burgers we have ever had. I tried to nicely let the owner know my disappointment on Facebook and that we had been regular costumers. I was just hoping for an apology and he deleted my comment.

We use to love this place under the original ownership. The food was amazing, but now under the new ownership they use poor quality food. Our favorite sandwich use to be «The Spot Sandwich,» but the last two times we went in you couldn’t even see the chicken breast under all the bread. Last week we went for breakfast, which was also a disaster. We waited over an hour for omelets, ham and bacon. There were four in our party & our plates came out two at a time with a 15 minute break in between them. Also, the guacamole was brown and gross.

We were going to come in, but we were sold when the waitress popped out of the restaurant and told us they had cheese stick burgers. Food was excellent, delicious french fries, service was perfect and friendly. Thanks so much! I will definitely come back on our next vacation.

I am a huge fan! I love their unique take on classics! They are also very accomidating to people like myself with gluten sensitivities. If you get Sierra she is an awesome host! Treat her well! Just a really great place to hangout, have a few beers, and they have nightly specials from wing nights to Taco Tuesdays. It’s small, but amazing and right by the Ray’s stadium! Always tip your servers!

The staff is so friendly. After my first visit, Willie remembered my friend and I and always comes and talks to us. The food is amazing. The J spot might be the best burger I have ever had in my life. I had one yesterday and Im seriously considering going back again today. It’s that good.

I was really in the mood for a burger, and they delivered! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. There is no kid menu but they will make whatever you need for your child, also they gave my daughter some side walk chalk and let her go to town on the sidewalk! We will return!

My fiancé and I decided to hit up the spot last night for the first time and ordered a ton of food; chili cheese fries, pierogies, mac n’ cheese(with a nice smokey flavor), and a cheesesteak. All of it… all of it was amazing. Best cheesesteak I’ve had in a long time, it helps that it I am a cheese sauce and no bell peppers fan. Great people working there, everyone is very friendly(hi guys, since you’ll probably see this and remember who we were). To top it off, six beers on tap and a buy one get one happy hour. Can’t wait to try the rest of the food if we can pry ourselves away from what we’ve already tried.
