I’m a local and I’ve been to this bar several times, but I had a horrible experience a couple weeks ago. We had six people with us and we were just starting out the night. One of the drafts tasted soapy, and I requested a another draft beer to be exchanged. The bartender and the owner responded rudely and negatively. Two of us out of the group ordered the same beer and we both thought it tasted off. Instead of doing the right thing and replacing our beers, they continued to argue with us for over 15 minutes. This was not the way I want to start my Friday night. We were being very polite about it. Finally I was given a different beer, but this beer was slammed down on the bar as it was given to me. I did not ask for a refund, but our money was also thrown back at us by the owner. I will not be coming back to this place ever again. Horrible horrible horrible service!!!

Weird amalgam of craft beer bar and 2000s rock music. Great place to watch a game(hockey or baseball) and they have a great beer selection… But the music was just awful and depressing mix of Stained and Pearl Jam.

I’m here so often I have friends that ask if maybe I’m obsessed, Chris do you have a problem, Chris that’s an awful lot of checkins, Chris it’s weird when you hug too long and I don’t like it. The tap list is consistently strong and a good mix of local and afar. They’ve got Pool and Darts, and plenty of tables to play other rando boardgames you might walk in with. It’s never been too crowded, and it’s a nice stop for a little barhopping, for example PAW Cage ArtPool Pig SlyBar.

One of our favorite places for a beer. Quiet, clean, and friendly! Great selection of beers for all to enjoy!

This place is great! 47 craft beers on tap, 3 ciders, plus domestic bottles and wine! Oh yeah and they have good food too. They have a great outdoor seating with corn hole and you can bring your dog on the patio. 2 Pool tables inside and 2 dart games. It’s got a hometown pub vibe, yet it’s more upscale without being snobbish, if that makes sense. Highly recommend, staff is friendly and VERY knowledgeable! We had so much fun, can’t wait to go back.

You would think that they serve real food here. Prepare to be disappointed. The food here was terrible but the service was great. I just feel like their name is pretty misleading and their items are overpriced.

The selection of beers and helpful of the staff here are great! We went right before a busy Rays opener and it wasn’t completely jammed pack, although the prices/specials were just as good and the selection of beers even better. The staff took their time to introduce the offerings and educate us a bit as we sampled and found the beers we were most happy with. I would skip Ferg’s and just stop here for a more pleasant, authentic experience to enjoy some beers before the game.

I driven by this establishment a few times and it caught my eye, took a friend of mine out to dinner and decided to try it out. The place was a little dead but it was like 6:30 on a Thursday evening, minimal staff bartender and a cook, the bartender was very knowledgable on the craft beers which there is a large selection, he pointed us in the direction to a very hoppy pale ale, yummy we grabbed some menus and sat outside, we had to go back inside to order not a big deal but we were the only ones there, we ordered the Spicy Edamame, made with oyster sauce and some other spicy ingredients it made me order 2 more beers, I had the Reuben, tons of corned beef, had to get a to go box, my friend order triple cheese panini, he slammed it, however we both didn’t care for the Cole Slaw. Would recommend and my friend went back next evening for edamame!

Stopped here for a beer before a Rays game. Great location; close to the ballpark. They have a very nice beer selection and I always appreciate the digital beer lists behind a bar as I hate searching for a beer menu. The place is very big, huge almost, and very cold. Not just temperature cold, but lacking any sort of character or décor. Oddly there was also a very strange smell in the bar that we couldn’t quite place, but it was not pleasant. The bartender was friendly and helpful when we arrived. There were only 2 or 3 other patrons in the bar, which I found odd as it was a Saturday before a game, but we were helped very quickly. Not a bad place to stop for a beer, but there are better and more interesting bars in the area.

3 stars for the beer selection This bar is in downtown St. Pete and has a large selection of microbrews on tap. The happy hour is only $ 1 off drafts and you can rack up a decent bar tab here at $ 5 per 16oz. Pretty nice interior and the restroom was really clean. They keep the slider doors open a lot with the A/C on which, makes for a nice environment except for the mosquitoes that bite you while your sipping your favorite brew. I haven’t tried the food but the bar-food-paper-menu which, had multiple items scribbled out kind of scared me away. Might try some next time I go and will update. Also, the St. Petersburg Police Headquarters across the street always makes me nervous…

Nice clean spacious place. We stopped by there before the baseball game on Sunday. We sat by the bar. The bartender was friendly and efficient. We ordered beers and some food. They had«game special menu», so we ordered pulled pork sliders and a hot dog with sour crowd. Delicious! Fantastic snack. Very tasty and filling. Great beer selection. Will definitely be back.

Fabulous location, marvelous selection & hilarious staff. I appreciate a good sense of humor; see Mike for details. And with plenty of local creations, you’re sure to find something locally crafted & delicious. Girl, please.

This place has an amazing selection of local and national draft beers! A lively scene and live music on the weekend. I’ve been here a couple of times and have never had bad service. Beers are around $ 6 per pint and food is also available. Sliders, random appetizers. The staff is attentive and knows their beers. Atmosphere is chill. Plenty of bar seating and tables for groups. Outdoor seating is also plentiful so you can bring your puppies if you’d like. There isn’t a parking lot so you’ll need to find street parking nearby. I would definitely recommend this bar to craft beer lovers… it will not be a disappointment!

They have an impressive, unique beer selection – though we sadly got there after the kitchen had closed so I can’t speak to anything but the beer and the atmosphere. The atmosphere was great, and the company around the bar was better. They had a pool table, which was fun, and nice outdoor seating space. I highly recommend this for a craft beer or five, especially if you like a more unique selection.

This was the highlight of my day. I just had gone to see a baseball game at Tropicana Field and in our aimless wondering in the neighborhood around the stadium, the only place that gave us immediate shelter from the sweltering humid heat, was Flying Pig. There wasn’t a big crowd in here post-game and most likely, I don’t think there would be a crowd if the team won. From a quick walk down the street, it seems most people go to the Cancun/Tijuana outdoor hut place down the street. No thank you… I’ll take a cold beer, air conditioning, and some good ol sports bar vibes. I had a milk stout called Maven by Barley Mow and it was quite good. Like I stated earlier, this was definitely the best part of my day. No cowbells ringing in the background and an oasis of coolness amidst the heat of the hot Tampa summer. Though I doubt I’ll ever be back in this area again, it’s nice to know with high hopes that Flying Pig will survive and thrive with its prime stadium location.

GREATFUNLOCATION Although it’s at the base of the Fusion Apartments this place still feels like it stands on its own(and its neighbors with some cool other hangout options if that’s what your friends prefer). It’s long and narrow with the majority of the side facing large windows looking into Central – so it feels very open and bigger than it actually is. The servers and bartenders overall don’t seem much for chatter but have been brisk and service-like. Nothing too bad. LOTSOFBEER(NOTSOMUCHCIDER) Out of the 40 or so choices, there have probably been only two Ciders during my visits… so someone who is Gluten-Free probably wouldn’t have much to do here. Out of the Beer the variety is great and all over the place. It’s easy to grab a flight and try several options. ATMOSPHERE Most people play Cards Against Humanity(ask the counter) but there’s corn hole, pool, and darts as well. This place serves food, but my experience with it has been painfully slow. Since you can bring in food from outside I do that instead – plus their food is overpriced IMO.

Really love this bar as a hangout. Even did a Pinot’s Palette event there and LOVED it!!! Staff remembers your name and knows the beers(and wine!) on tap! Love the pool tables, the«jukebox», and the open mic nights. SO, why three stars??? The food! As the«Flying Pig» I’d expect a pork themed menu to rock my face off!!! There’s(sadly) been plenty of times we passed on coming because there isn’t really good food options here. Especially with amazing food(BBQ, Mexican, burgers, sushi, and more) just down the road.

With a name like Flying Pig, you would expect some Chef-crafted food, but you’d be sorely disappointed. The service was great, but the price of the beers and the food were a huge letdown. The food was processed, jarred, canned, etc. The hummus was bland and gritty and was covered in paprika. The celery it came with was brown on both sides where it was cut. The pulled pork sliders were served on boring, packaged buns and the meat tasted like it came out of a package too. I liked the idea of an app only menu, for the most part, but I don’t understand how a place can go through all the work of opening in a great location and then serving bad food. The beer selection was great, but at $ 7 for a plastic cup of it, I wasn’t left with wanting anything else. My girlfriend ordered a stronger beer and it was served in a plastic cup half the size of mine, but at the same cost. When she asked why her cup was so small, she was told because the beer has more alcohol in it. I’ve never heard that one before. It’s a great location, with great potential, but it desperately needs a chef and a reconsideration of the beer prices. Right now, I’ll be waiting in line next door at Ferg’s. 2 stars for great service, 1 star for prices and food.

This place was your average bar. Bonus is you can bring your pets(outside). Many beers on tap. The wine is on tap also. Friendly service and the place is clean. Nice open layout. The females bathroom was stuck. Give an extra shove to get in.

Decent beer selection but nothing that will knock your socks off. Service was friendly, offered tastes and whatnot. the layout is very warehouse like and very open with pool tables toward the back. Since it’s minimalist it’s very clean. Not sure what the music is like here as the night I went they had all the TV’s on a basketball game. A decent place but it certainly didn’t rock my little beer world
