Great local bar to escape all the conservatives on the island! The service is always good and the karaōke is so much fun. They allow people to smoke inside so if you don’t like smoke consider yourself warned. Their pool tables are also nice and there’s always at least one open to play on. I highly recommend this local spot for a fun night with your friends where someone’s liable to get drunk enough to cover some En Vogue!

Forget about Hunter. Go see Madison. Be careful of the stairs if you’ve been drankin. A little pricey, but great crowd and atmosphere. This bar attracts all kinds.

I don’t go out often but when my daughter drags me out we always go to Castaways. Its very comfortable and laid back. The owners show up nightly and mingle with their guest. I enjoy my times out with my kid at Castaways.

Tacky Tiki Bar, but you are at the beach so it’s perfect! Come for the drinks, stay to gaze at the GORGEOUS bartender Hunter, giggle at the bad karaōke and have fun!

My recent trip to St. Simons was made so much better with a trip to Castaways! We were visiting a friend on the Island and I got a tip that there was a really fun bar there that was as close to a gay bar the famously Republican island has ever had. We first stopped in late on a Thursday and there wasn’t too many people there. We sat down at the bar and the female bartender(I wish I could remember her name) greeted us and took some time to talk to us. That’s a dying art in some places. We had a couple of vodka cranberries and a rum and coke. Served in big plastic cups and perfectly made, we settled in. You could tell that this was a place the locals hang out in. We were told by a young lady at the bar that on Saturday night there would be a big birthday party for the owner, so be sure to come back for that. When we came back on Saturday the bar was packed and people were singing karaōke. We were greeted at the door by the young lady who told us to come back. It turns out she was one half of the owners. She told us Dot was her name and that was the theme, dots! The bar was covered in polka dots and many of the patrons were wearing polka dotted clothes. We had so much fun and everyone seemed to genuinely like Dot and her business partner, Josh. She told us they did theme parties all the time and the bar was a perfect place to have them. If you want a fun time on the island and don’t like pretentious atmospheres, come to Castaways! I wish I lived on the island so I could come here more often and become one of the colorful regular!
