I will fully admit I am a sushi snob. I LOVE sushi and living on the pacific coast I know fresh fish when I taste it. With that said we loved the sushi here. The specialty rolls were creative and delicious. The server was wonderful and very attentive. Everything was very reasonably priced too. The Lucky Dragon roll and the Hawaii roll were our favorites.

Decent sushi for the island and the take-out option is always correct and tastes like ordering in the restaurant

Another five star experience! Excellent service, delicious food. The waitress remembered my family and was super nice. This will always be my favorite sushi place.

Pretty good sushi. They started you out with a complimentary fried imitation crab stick with eel sauce and white sauce. We had the hwy 17 roll and the Timmy special. Hwy 17 had smoked salmon and cream cheese and was delicious. The Timmy special was shrimp tempura with a fried banana on top. If you are not a fan of wasabi then stay away from this roll because it is drenched in wasabi sauce. I liked it but the wife was not a fan! You get a bowl of soup with your sushi also. Overall good place for sushi and a great price!

I love Fancy Q! The sushi is amazing. The service is always fantastic, our food is always on point, and we always have a good time when we visit. I recommend that you try the Hwy 17 roll, the Scorpion roll, and the Godzilla roll.

We absolutely loved this place! Any sushi lover would be impressed. We ordered 2 rolls and hibachi dinner as well. The portions were huge and I loved the sautéed veggies it came with. So delicious! We will definitely be back!

Went to this place for the third time last night and I have to say every time was great! I had the hwy 17 and ordered the Eddie special and my god was it great! Service was excellent our server stayed ontop of everything and the food came out 10 minutes after ordering! Mind you that this place was full that night. Definitely going to be a regular there

The food is fresh and tasty. Servers are very kind. Their cool ambiance makes u feel like you’re at a fancy restaurant and their reasonable prices make it even better. I love the soup and appetizer they provide at no charge. They have a delish teriyaki chicken plate which is enough for two people if u don’t like fish.

Best local place for sushi. The traditional types of roles like crab stick and shrimp are dry and too large. Try anything fried or spicy and you are good to go. Favorites by many are: Eddies special, highway 17 roll, and the volcano roll.

Great sushi. We received a small salad, soup, and a shrimp tempura appetizer complimentary. The rolls were delicious!

We love Fancy Q but walked in today and were totally blown away with the recent renovations. Same great food but an elegant décor to match. Thanks Fancy Q!

Fancy Q’s is my favorite spot to eat lunch or dinner in the village. Their sushi is always spot on and delicious, as is the hibachi which is insanely cheap during lunch hours! The crunchy roll and dynamite roll are my favorites. Steak hibachi for lunch today hit the spot! Some friends came to town and ordered off the«specialty» sushi menu and the presentation was like something you would find in a large metropolitan city– just fabulous! There is also a Brunswick location and they do a great job too! Nothing but good things to say about Fancy’s. Service is fast and prices are great.

We stopped in Fancy looking for sushi in remote Georgia. This place was really nice. I sampled most of the nigiri staples; they were all good and portions were nice. The sushi chef was very very kind to us and even treated us to a special little treat at the end of our meal at the bar. Sushi was pre-cut for which I deducted a star.

My wife and I were in town for a day and found a great sushi place! We explained that she likes the«soy» paper instead of the nori. They were quick to accommodate her and interacted with us all night as we sat at the sushi bar! We have been to several sushi restaurants and this was the most fun we had. We were offered samples that were on the house. We were stuffed! We will surely come back! Thanks for the great time

I had heard about how wonderful this place was. But I also have noted 4 or 5 stars having been given to McDonalds and Krispy Cream joints. So, suffice it to say, I read the SUBSTANTIVECOMMENTS in reviews. I looked at some of the other reviews — trying to get past hollow comments such as «best on St Simons» and«wonderful.» Four of us went for lunch. Each of us received a cup of miso soup with mushrooms and the waitress sent over an appetizer of tasty, well, let me call it «pseudo sushi» — because I have not the foggiest idea what ti was — but it was tasty! Three of us had sushi; the fourth had fried rice with scallops and vegetables. Here’s the basis for my rating: — Atmosphere: 3 — Service: 4 — Food quality/taste: 3.5 — Value: 4.5 I could rate them lower because they may not be «real, genuine, authentic, sushi mavens/preparers.» But I am not an expert. I can tell you I liked the place. I was skeptical but the place won me over. Yes, the employees may not be «real, genuine» Japanese. But I can’t not recommend them for that. Bottom line: Would I go back? You bet! Was the place excellent? No. I’ll be paying attention to «potential issues,» but for now, I’ll give ‘em a «4.»

Went on a Saturday evening. Reasonably short wait for a party of two(less than 10 min). The interior is lack luster, with basic red brick walls and sagging faux-wood paneling on the ceiling. We were seated and provided 3 menus, all with variations of the same thing. One was to be marked with your selections, but it was missing a few specialty rolls. A forth menu had beverages. The menu(s) were pretty basic and the options were not that impressive. We were given a sushi roll of imitation crab and a cup of Miso soup as starters. The sushi had a ‘white sauce’ on top that seemed very… southern. If I were guessing, I would guess it was a mayonnaise base. It tasted about like it sounds. I ordered a chicken and vegetable tempura as an appetizer. It was OK, but a bit heavy and greasy, not fluffy and crispy like tempura should be ideally prepared. It included some chicken, a mushroom, sweet potato, and broccoli. I would not order it again from this establishment. For my entrée I ordered three rolls. One(Hawaii Roll) was supposed to have mango, but it had mandrain orange slices instead. It was ok, but a disappointing bait-and-switch. My second roll was a rainbow roll, which was sub par and I did not finish. The third roll had a combination of seared tuna and raw tuna. It had some sort of sauce on it that smelled of burned plastic. I definitely did not enjoy this roll. The individual roll prices were less than $ 10 for speciality rolls and less than $ 8 for average rolls. My fellow patron commented that everything seemed rather salty. It did not seem that fresh to me. All together, I would not go here for sushi again.
