Terrible experience with a pedicure. Cut foot badly. Unsanitary and very expensive for what you get!

I wish I could give ZERO stars for this horrible place. I went here and took 7 of my closest friends and family members to get our nails done for my WEDDING DAY. What a mistake! They didn’t have the glitter polish I wanted and when I asked for it they acted like they had it, started on my nails and then when it came time to paint, they «all of a sudden» didn’t have it. They argued with my MOTHER and started yelling at her when she tried to explain what we wanted. When she finally just accepted the crappy version of what we wanted (because they had already started by telling us they had it) they started jerking her hands around and completely stopped interacting with her. Then, when I went to look for an alternative, they told me they were in a hurry and I needed to pick something faster. The ONLY reason I stayed and finished what they had started is because I was about to get married and didn’t have time to go somewhere else and get it fixed. The lady made fun of my cuticles and then didn’t do anything to them. I asked for a manicure and a full set and I got a crappy full set put on, uneven and painted like crap. They didn’t clean out underneath the nails and they didn’t cut down the corners of the nails. I was so upset about the experience and I still am. I had to hold the tears in and so did my mom. It was absolutely horrible and I will never, EVER, step foot in this crappy place ever again. This place has NOTHING on Ruby Nail Salon on Demere Road. They are the BEST nail salon on St. Simons Island. Period.

I received a gift certificate from my children for a manicure and pedicure. The woman assigned to do my nails first gave me a pedicure and did an adequate job. Next came the manicure, It started out ok but ¼ of the way through, a gentleman came in the salon and my technician was called away to assist him. The owner came to complete my manicure. Unfortunaly, my nails had been clipped by the woman but he paid no attention to the fact that she had not had time to shape them and I was left with squared off very odd shaped nails. one very thin coat of polish, and not so much as a smile or acknowledgement that I even existed. Next day my daughters asked what had happened to my nails because they looked so terrrible. Within two days the polish was coming off. What a waste of money. I live on St Simons Island and will never return, neither will my daughters, their friends, or mine. I was treated very shabbily by the owner and it was made clear that the male customer was more important than I was.

My mom and I went to Island Georgia Nail Spa in the Redfern Village on St. Simons Island for relaxing vacation nail treatments. Both the customer service and the treatments were both really disappointing. We walked in around 10:45am on a Tuesday morning. A couple of people were already there and all of the staff looked to be busy with someone. We were rudely barked at to quickly pick out our colors, even though it was clear that it would be at least ten minutes before someone was available to help us so I am not sure why we needed to rush. No one gave an indication that that they were pleased to see us or happy to have us there. My pedicurist was extremely rough, particularly during the lower leg massage, really just pulling my legs in different directions. My mother’s manicurist just slapped and jerked her hands around as if she were a machine. No relaxation whatsoever. They failed to put on any protective coat of polish so that the polish was chipped within an hour.

My mom and I have been going to Kelly and Kevin for several years and we love them! They both do a great job and are always very thorough. I have tried several other nail salons on the island and would recommend Island Georgia Nail Spa through and through.
And an added perk: they’re right next door to the Tibi outlet!
