This place might be better than most Chinatown banh mi shops. It’s clean, staff is polite, service is quick and banh mi is awesome. Crispy bread, tasty meatball, not too much«butter». They also have a buy 5 get 1 free banh mi special. Spring rolls are fresh and café sua da is not too sweet not too strong. I wish I had time to come here for lunch every day.

The server completely forgot to ring in my Phở soup — I had to ask for it again. That’s always super disappointing on a lunch break. Even more disappointing, when I got it. it was pretty bland. Definitely not where I’ll go for my phở fix in Sugar Land. There’s plenty of other places that do it a lot better.

I like to eat here and take food to go. The food is consistently delicious, priced well, and the service is great. I’ve had an order wrong before and there was no hesitation to fix the problem right away. The owner always comes out to greet us when we dine in. I mostly enjoy the Bahn Mi, Phở, spring rolls, eggs rolls, and vermicelli. Haven’t had anything I don’t like yet.

Nice place, great food. Sometimes a bit slow on the service side, but only due to high traffic. Definitely a go-to lunch spot around our office.

I am giving this review based only on the egg sandwiches. The egg sandwiches are delicious here. The yolk is the sunny side up type so it can be a little messy but if you like egg on bread, it’s a must try. The butter and the oven toasted bread goes together very well. I cant wait to get more. They also offer beef, grilled pork, chicken, dac biet special, and tofu sandwiches. The place itself is more spacious, and service is ok. It’s not that fast so I usually head next done to get bubble tea and come back. The lady at the cashier isn’t exactly welcoming, but she gets the job done.

Food was typical, but their hours are so random. They were not open the last 2 times I stopped by, even though there was no special sign as to why, and was within their normal business hours printed on the door. Extremely undependable.

Don’s 2nd sandwich shop is definitely living up to his original shop’s reputation. This was my first experience having a Vietnamese Sandwich, and I’m coming back to Don’s for my second indefinitely. Fantastic combo of flavor and texture. Being that this was my first tasting of this speciality, I will uncontrollably be biased, but even the friend I was with(who has had MANY varieties across Houston) says these are in the top 3 best in the city. If you too have never been introduced to this delicacy, it’s your choice of meat placed in a soft, fresh baked bun with fragrant cilantro, raw jalapeño(optional), Julianned carrots with a staple butter sauce. They also have Phở and other traditional dishes and drinks. Service was average, but you can never expect much on a slow Monday evening a couple hours before closing. Overall, that’s the only thing holding this place back from being at the 5 Star rating. Now you don’t have to drive into China Town to have a good meal. Thanks Don!

Have to downgrade the rating. Asked for veggie spring rolls and got the shrimp /pork. Didn’t get to tell the server as they dropped the plate on my table on their way to another table. Sandwich had way too much butter. Lastly, the place was incredibly noisy. Too bad, as the quality of the food is good for the price.

We just moved to the area and I was very excited to see this place just down the street, especially once I read the reviews. We have gone once now for chicken phở to go, and I know this will become a staple. The broth was some of the most flavorful I’ve had and everything was fresh. I would have liked a little more chicken, but that’s just a minor thing compared to the overall experience. The place is clean and bright. You order at the counter and get a number-the food came our in a reasonable amount of time to know they were making it fresh. Extremely yummy and I can’t wait to try more dishes(if I can get away from the phở).

I have tried so many Banh Mi in Houston but I like Banh Mi at Don Café the best! Always clean and fast serving. I love their phở also. It would be perfect if they have more selection of dessert!(And the lunch time parking is nightmare)

They have Vietnamese food and decent prices. I wish they stayed open later. Similar restaurant next door. Waitstaff are nice. Best to order to go.

Service is good and the banh mi sandwiches are good. Comparing it to the original establishment… This place is a lot nicer than the Bellaire one, I suppose because it’s more of a sit-down place and less people come here versus the original one on Bellaire where most people usually get it to go. I have also noticed that when I started coming here, it takes longer to prepare the food here. Maybe because I was so used to the swiftness of the workers at the Bellaire location making the sandwiches? Who knows. The sandwiches are also a lot smaller and more expensive(by a few cents) here than they are in Bellaire. I would much prefer the sandwiches at the Bellaire location, but this place is decent. Aside from that, It’s a great place for lunch, and I love how they have combos here. I stick to getting a combo #4 which is just the banh mi sandwich, spring roll, and a drink! The BBQ beef has become my usual order. The restaurant itself is in a small complex and usually packed with cars, but I’ve never had a problem finding parking. Convenient place for getting your banh mi craving on in the Stafford/Missouri City/Sugar Land area if you’re not wanting to drive out to Bellaire/Chinatown!

Great sandwhices! Would have given 5 stars, but they have such a high minimum charge for credit card that it required me to drive around looking for a gas station. I mean I understand 3 $ would be too little of an amount to run a card as they incur charges as well but 15 $ is ridiculous. I also heard someone else complaining of the same thing. You guys really should change that. Besides that great food and quick service!

I came to this Don’s as I didn’t want to make the trek all the way out to Chinatown but was craving a banh mi crazy bad. I picked up two sandwiches and an order of fried egg rolls and paid around $ 11. The sandwich was not as good as the ones from the original Don’s are, but I guess that’s to be expected at any offshoot restaurant. The bread just wasn’t as crisp and the grilled pork was a little tough. Something was slightly off. However, I can’t complain as it did satisfy my craving! The egg rolls were good but under salted.

I have had a lot of banh mi and have yet to eat anything that contends with don’s /les givrals. The lady who works the register and anwsers the phone busts ass all the time, and helps no matter what the request is. One time i walked in and just wanted butter so my fiancé could make banh mi at home(its not the same without their perfect butter). I had bo luc lac one time and it was too raw to eat a couple of pieces. but it was still good. I will return because of the awesome service and food(and its real close to my work). Keep up the high standards guys! We do appreciate it.

Service was good! Called ahead of time. I took my pork banh mi to go, and i got my banh mi within 5 min. As for the banh mi itself, it was so-so. Good enough for me to come back! Hopefully, don café will impress me with more flavor! (3.5 rating)

I came here occationally for coffeee… Today i hv a craving for spring roll and plain no meat nothing bread… Spring roll(2 for $ 3.75) was old and there is a big peice of pork skin and fat inside(picture below) extra gross… Plain bread($ 1.50) was cut from a large roll of baguette, it looks like… cold stale not toasted… Here is the insult, they refused to take Visa because less than $ 10… I am not coming back.
