Delivery took exactly 20 mins from my call. Total for 5 piece sushi, crab Rangoon and general tso will rice was $ 28. The 5 piece sushi appetizer is terrible. It’s rice with a thin layer of seemingly old raw fish on top. Crab Rangoon and the sauce that came with it were pretty bad. Obviously not fresh. The general tso’s was below average.

I thought it was very good. I had the vegetarian sushi and loved it. The won ton soup had delicate home made noodles with a interesting broth– excellent. Small eat in area which I liked.

Everything is so fresh! Sushi and appetizers are amazing, hibachi is also very good. The restaurant is small but very clean.

Yummy! I loved the food I got there(I ordered veggie rolls and a miso soup). Everything was great and it didn’t take too long to be delivered. The only issue was with my boyfriend’s salmon roll in which he said the salmon was«rubber-y» echhh. Good thing I don’t eat fish!

I am giving this spot 2 stars for the simple reason that they are cheap, fast and always get your order right. Food — not so great. The place smells of fish as you enter, and I don’t feel great after eating here — tried it a few times. Definitely on my «avoid» list.

Dishonest business owners. They are only after the quick buck, and have no sense of taking care of their customers. Very rude. I ordered vegetable chow mein. I have ordered this 100s of times. I ordered it here and all i got was a box of steamed vegetables. I called and was expecting an apology, like a normal business would. Only she started lying to my face that chow mein was not noodles. What planet do these people come from? Google chow mein and there is not a single place where you see steamed vegetables. Just a complete lie. Plus I ordered crab rangoon, which was moldy. Im sure they didn’t cook it right and used very old expired ingredients. I am reporting this place to the The Stamford Health Department, Environmental Health and Inspection Division.

The sushi is good here, and the staff are very nice. Prices are decent and they are pretty quick with delivery. This place is pretty much takeout only. There are 2 small tables and a few chairs at the sushi bar. Their lunch specials are generous and pricing is reasonable.

We used to eat regularly here, even though our experience was the same as many other reviewers about a bad attitude from the older woman who works the phones and cash register. I’d heard one customer come in and complain about the quality of the food, and I let it go because I was chuckling at the woman cursing at him and yelling that all the fish is fresh. That changed when our two year had a sweet-potato roll from the restaurant and ended up with serious food poisoning. We’ve written the place off since then.

This is one of them places in the corner that you would drive by and not even bother noticing, however I felt like sushi and decided to place a order and pick up. This place is more for pick up they have a few seats here, and there but other wise most people just pick up. I love the service and how quick they were in making my sushi. I not tried anything else so 5 stars are for the sushi being really good. I have personally try all places and this is my fav so far very quick, fresh, creative, and veryyyy yummy

I use Open Rice a lot for take out and delivery. They always courteous, on time and the food is awesome! One of the few restaurants that delivers to North Stamford.

This restaurant is wonderful. Best Chinese I’ve had in stamford. Just be prepared to wait a while for delivery and make sure your order is clear. But the food is just too great to pass up

I am in the area for a few days and I ordered delivery from Open Rice thru Seamless. They have Japanese and Chinese Options. I went with the Chinese Options. The delivery was quick and easy. I had the General Tso’s Chicken and the Chicken With Black Bean Sauce. The fried rice was a little underflavored(combination options). The chicken with the Black Bean could have been cut into smaller pieces but that might be getting too picky. I’m going to try the Japanese options if I get a chance

So… I am loathe to slam any restaurant, especially with this place’s offerings. But I had a bad meal, plain and simple, and the service I received only adds to my displeasure. My coworker and I dropped by and ordered lunch. The woman at the counter was brusque to the point of being unpleasant. The restaurant was empty, and the phone was not ringing, so I don’t think that they were particularly busy, as two of the staff were also dining at the sushi bar. I ordered Egg Drop Chicken Corn soup(don’t judge, I wanted comfort food) and Pad Thai. My friend ordered Wonton soup and three rolls from the sushi bar. He made a polite point to ask the woman for extra wasabi. This seemed to irritate the f@%k out of her, as she almost snarled at him. Ok then; we sat, and our food came out in due course. We took it back to work… and were not happy. My soup had approximately four small pieces of shredded chicken and a scant tablespoon of corn, and very little flavor. The Pad Thai was oily, and had no flavor resembling any other dish of Pad Thai I have ever consumed. I am accustomed to finding hints of tamarind paste, fish sauce, chili sauce, OR palm sugar in Pad Thai; this had none. It was simply rice noodles prepared similarly to mediocre Lo Mein. I can get Lo Mein easily elsewhere and for less of an investment, speaking of the price. My friends rolls were meh, but what upset him more was the price, the attitude, and the service, He did NOT get soy sauce or a spoon for his soup. Again, they weren’t busy. I will not go back.

On our way back from Philly, we stopped in here for a quick dinner. No regrets! Their roti canai was awesome. Even my mister liked it and he’s not so into curry. He even begged for a little more! Unheard of. He got the steak hibachi, which looked perfectly cooked, but I thought it was weird to offer hibachi and not have anyone come out and cook it in from of you. I got something called triple delight, and it was in another curry, but this one slightly spicy. Huge portion! I ate the shrimp and scallops out of it and the rest I saved for my lunch the next day and I was stuffed.

I am a huge fan of Open Rice. This is my go-to sushi destination in Stamford. The service is great and the sushi is fresh. Also, if you go at lunchtime, the prices are very reasonable. The seating area is on the smaller side, but there always seems to be one table left. The hot and sour soup is really the star of this show for me. I would recommend this place to anyone for lunch and I drag people here with me any chance I get!

I have to complain the operator who pick up the order on the phone, her attitude is very rude. It’s her, the voice sounds like a girl .I feel really unpleasant everytime when I place an order, the operator she has no patience with customer, even I’m a regulary customer. In that case, I’d like to order in other place, we have much choices actually.

Generally ‘Chinese take-out’ suffices in stopping the hunger pangs. While I would not classify Open Rice as ‘Chinese take-out”, they do offer similar meals. I’d say I’ve been here 12 times, and only once, there was a ‘so-so’ meal. I brought it back to them the next day and no problem. I decided to sit down and have lunch and was not charged. Class Act.

Delivery arrived hot in 30 minutes. Everything I tried was above average and fresh. Great gyoza, homemade dumplings, egg roll, and general tso chicken. Clearly all Americanized but very good. It’s getting harder and harder to find good Chinese delivery that arrives in a reasonable amount of time. Good to see a new restaurant with the extra effort.
