I love this place! The staff is very nice and they make you feel welcome. Their Mexican food is delicious and served in generous portions, and my favorite part is the loose leaf tea! They have a good variety of flavors, although be careful because gunpowder green tea was listed under«Herbal Teas.» They use honey as a sweetener if you want it :) They have a big selection of coffees too, but I don’t drink it much so that’s all I can say about the coffee. In addition to hot Mexican food made fresh with love, they have a lot of yummy candies! All kinds of chocolates you don’t find in your average grocery store, like Mars Bars! It’s a pleasant walk from the Clark Center and a good way to stretch your legs and fill up your stomach, or grab a tasty snack.

Fresh ingredients, reasonable price and fast, friendly service. I got a vegetarian burrito; it wasn’t the best burrito I’ve ever had, but I can’t complain. It was perfect for convenience and being able to grab something before heading into a meeting on-campus.

Wow! Today I walked in about 20 minutes after they opened and received good service. Their coffee is fresh; they grind the blend you ask for and use the pour-over method to ensure that you get the freshest taste. I always take my coffee black so I don’t know how the cream and sugar tastes, but I assure you, if you love coffee, this is the place to go! I will be returning at lunch to check out the lunch rush as well as the food!

Good Mexican food and fast. I work at the university and I can get here, eat and leave in ½ hour which is critical for facility staff. Mojado & Yahoo burrito are great.

I’ve been here a few times for lunch. There’s a few seats inside, but there’s plenty of tables on the patio outside. It is hidden away in the Beckman building, but if you ask anyone from the med school, they can definitely direct you. The salads are all right, and the burritos are cheap and HUGE. The Mojado Burrito was too much sauce for me, so I prefer the normal burritos instead. This place has drip coffee and a variety of blends to choose from. I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but many of my friends swear that Beckman has the strongest coffee you can find on campus. Their chai tea is a hit or miss. The other day I got iced chai tea and unfortunately it was very watered down.

They have very solid burritos. A lot of people also like the Aztec salad which was a great carb-light alternative but I love carbs so I’ll stick with my rice and tortilla. Their chiles rellenos are also really good(I had them at a catered event once… I think). Service is very quick and prices are very reasonable.

Spicy chicken burrito, holy moly. The best part: they put little broken pieces of chips in it. Little. Pieces. Of. Chips. Thank you.

Massive, cheap burritos + individually dripped pour over coffees = much better than the hospital cafeteria! It’s hidden underneath the Beckman building and has a nice patio area outside. I can’t believe it took me 5 years to discover this place. I just wish they were open past 3pm.

Hidden Stanford gem! This places has easy, quick, yummy Mexican food and most people don’t know it exists! I recommend the taco salads or the burrito mojado. Yum! Plus they have some nice outdoor seating for Sunny PA days :)

This is kind of a hidden gem on the Stanford campus. Unless one works at SOM it is unknown to the public. It is located on the ground floor of the Beckmann building. The brew each cup of coffee individually which takes time but tastes fantastic!

This is my go-to lunch spot on campus. A chicken taco with a side of beans and a bag of chips costs $ 4 and it’s the best meal available on campus. The beans are well seasoned. The chicken is tasty. The staff are great. They don’t speak a ton of English, but if you’re friendly at all, they’re more than willing to exchange a few pleasantries. When I was pregnant, I ate here every single day without fail. The manager joked, «Your baby’s gonna come out speakin’ Spanish!» I said, «I should be so lucky!» They’re always welcoming with a smile and a wave even when they’re slammed.

The thing I like most about Beckman is that it’s open until 3pm, which is nice when I have to grab a quick/late lunch and still want something«warm.» That being said, the most unfortunate thing about Beckman is that they don’t actually have a «kitchen» so to speak, and they have to use a microwave to heat everything up. I know a lot of people aren’t the biggest fans of this place, but I really don’t think it’s that bad. Not the best, but still pretty decent. The burritos at Nexus are made with fresher ingredients, but there’s not a bad variety at Beckman. If you’re feeling particularly hungry, I recommend getting a burrito«mojado style,» which basically means that your burrito and chips will be drenched in cheese and salsa and come with a nice dollop of guacamole and sour cream. It’s kind of heavy, but usually a mojado burrito will last me for at least 2 – 2.5 meals. The spicy chicken burrito is not bad either, but definitely spicy. I also quite like the quesadillas, but if you don’t specifically ask for them to make it «flat,» you’ll probably get yours in a wrap, which is kind of interesting. I’ve also tried the chicken tostada salad, which is not bad, but I’ve had better. I do however, really like the Aztec salad. Yummy dressing! The people who work here may not come off as the most friendly, but they’re speedy with what they do, and if you give them a smile and say thank you, they’ll be pleasant enough. tl;dr: Using microwaves to cook food, but still getting things that are fairly tasty? Not bad.

This place is extremely close to the building where I work… and so gets an extra star in my rating: P :P but seriously… I love this place as far as my lunch at Stanford is concerned. Its burritos are a basic 6. something and fill you up like anything! The Yahoo chicken barbeque burrito is good. So, is the Mojito one… with melted cheese and sause on top of a burrito and chips and avacado on the side… for a whopping 8. something…its totallly worth it!!! On days when I am not too hungry… one can always go for the small soft chicken tacos… you can have two of them(one is not that too filling but two of them do it)…but they are loaded with chicken and tomatoes and are kinda watery so you may not like it every day. Have also tried the empanadas… the chicken and spinach cheese one is great! Again… not that filling but good enough. All the other burritos and wraps on the menu are also nice. They also have tortilla chips and 3 different kinds of salsa. Service is pretty good for a cafeteria… the guys whip through every order real quick which is commendable given this place is super crowded during peak lunch hours. Sitting is incredible too with outdoor tables under the sun… Right opp. the food counter is the coffee counter with the coffee lady who serves 32 different kinds of drip coffee… for $ 1.5…love the Ethiopian flavor. All in all… a place totally worth going to!

I think this is one of the best places to eat on the stanford med campus. I usually get the Aztec salad or the BBQ chicken burrito, both around $ 7 for a big lunch. In fact I end up splitting whatever I get with people so it’s more like $ 3.50 for a filling lunch. Sure, service isn’t the jolliest, but who cares… the food is good and cheap. Make sure to at least stop by and try this place if you’re looking for food on the med campus.

I give up on this place. They use to have decent burritos, but the quality and service has gone downhill. Burritos are lukewarm at best. My burrito, when I opened it, fell apart due to a weak flour wrap. Workers there are super silent and unfriendly. Also, burritos are flavorless and not spicy at all. Hint: Remodeling doesn’t change service and quality of food.

the spicy chicken wrap hit the spot… on a day when the School of Medicine was celebrating it’s centennial and offering free lunches to the entire, school, staff, etc. but only had enough for 1000, I was left holding an empty plate… well not really, never even made it near the food… so i ventured off in search of food like everyone else who was SOL… was thinking Luttikens, but everyone seemed to think the same thing… and remembered there was this hidden gem on the lower level of Beckman… line wasn’t too long… and even if it was, the guys making the burritos were whipping through them like no tomorrow… the burritos are pretty filling and are moderately priced… haven’t tried their sandwiches, maybe another time… good thing i remembered this place, they have everything to fill a snacker’s dream or fill you up at lunch…

This is a decent place to get lunch if you’re at Stanford, but not worthy of any expeditions. My favorite thing here is the Aztec salad(lettuce, chicken, avocado, salsa, tortilla chips, cheese, dressing). Very yummy. The chicken fajita burritos are also good. This place gets packed right around noon, but the guys working there whip through the orders and keep the lines moving. Totally essential quality for any self-respecting lunch place.
