I’ve been here a few times since my initial review and this place was hit or miss… I decided to give it another chance though. Unfortunately there is a sign on the door saying it went out of business. Another Stanton business bites the dust.

Great sandwiches and they deliver. If you work or live in the area give them a try. I had the Dad’s special. One of the best damn sandwiches ive had in awhile.

Beach Street Grinders is a «Hole In the Wall» place that could easily put Subway, Togos, or Quiznos out of business. A co-worker and I first decided to check this place out about a month ago after seeing the reviews on Unilocal. When we first drove up, I felt the need to lower my expectations a bit… the shop is in a 7 – 11 anchored strip mall with terrible parking and I non-descript sign hanging above the door. The bar was raised a bit, though, when we walked through the door and fond a modern looking deli with a polished look to it, as well as the friendly staff behind the counter. On this first trip, I ordered the Beach St. Special, which includes a LOADED sandwich filled with Boars Head Brand meats and cheeses on your choice of bread, plus your choice of macaroni salad or potato salad(including my favorite, the BBQ Potato salad), chips, and a drink. I walked away extremely satisfied with both the size and taste of the sandwich, and couldn’t wait for more! Since then, I’ve been back two more times and have tried the Dad’s Special and the Hot Mama, both of which were exceptionally tasty! If you’re in the Stanton area, stop in and try this place. You won’t be disappointed!

Came in for lunch today and had a great sandwich. I ordered the Italian(regular) and picked up the combo, which includes potato or macaroni salad, chips and a drink. All for about $ 7. The sandwiches are made on a french roll, the meats are Boars Head Brand and the toppings were all very fresh. Overall the sandwich was a good size and IMHO, hands down better than the Togo’s and subway we normally hit for lunch I consider myself somewhat of a sandwich connoisseur when it comes to sandwiches, having looked for and eaten them all over So Cal, and I would definitely recommend this place to those out there looking for a good bite.

Subway? Quizno’s? Togo’s? Hell no’s! At any chain sub shop I’ve ever gone too, I’ve always needed to order my sandwich with«double meat». Why? Because I am a man. Beach St. Grinders understands this, and saves you the trouble of having to make said request(and the additional charge) by piling their hoagies high with real Boar’s Head meats and cheeses. The guy that runs this shop is a super cool dude who really understands what, «made to order» is when it comes to building the perfect, custom submarine. I’ve never tried the hot sandwiches like the sausage or meatball, because the cold cuts are just so damn good. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 Star experience? The potato or macaroni salad side. They are common and clearly come from a Costco tub, but to be fair, you really won’t need them. The sandwich is enough, and you can even sit there and look out the window, across the street, at all the zombie suckers who just spent the same amount of dough on a rotten Cold Cut Trio from the Subway and know you did the right thing for both your buds and your belly.

I dig this place. It has a great feel to it once you walk in the door. The owner is friendly and helpful if you don’t know what you want. I’ve since been here several times and I usually walk out with the sausage and peppers sandwich. I’m still amazed at the size of this thing and how much sausage is actually in there. Most places skimp and give you a few lousy slices of sausage and call it a day. This place loads it up! Come here if you want to definitely get full and have a great sandwich. It’s been the reason I’ve had afternoon food coma several times which is usually a sign of a good sandwich.

2 stars, 3 stars, 2 stars, ok fine I’ll give this place 3 stars even though the sandwich was just ok, nothing extraordinary. 3 stars cuz the service was nice and friendly, the place was clean even though I took my sandwich to-go, and I didn’t get the much raved about Hot Mama(I just didn’t feel like it today). I’m sure maybe if I tried the most popular item I might have been somewhat swayed so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. I got my turkey on the toasted wheat roll — wheat roll wasn’t anything special, comparable to Subway’s! The turkey was stacked and juicy so that’s a plus. Sorry, my sandwich standards are pretty high.

What sets this place apart from all the rest is the high quality meats. The owner insists on using only the best deli meats available & that is Boars Head. My turkey and cheese sandwich was quite delicious and filled with plenty of meats, veggies, & fixings. It also came with a small potato salad that was as equally as good. The potato salad had a nice balance of flavors & was not to wet. I would absolutly go back to this place again in the future.

This guy has done the one thing, that no other food establishment has done… he started out with the best ingredients. This is not your Subway or your Quiznos. I love Quiznos, but this is SOOOO much better than that. this has become my regular Friday thing. best way to end a work week, with a Large Dad’s Special. The bread is thinner than quiznos, but that ok because each sandwich is pilled high with top quality Boar’s Head meat. if you have never had it before, drop by Beach Street. you will not be Dissapointed. I have converted most of the my office staff to Beach Street, and it only took one visit. despite other reviews, i dont think there is such a thing as bad food. if it werent for the fact that parking is horrible around lunch time, this place would have a line around the corner.

This place is amazing. Its located in a little shopping center with a 7 – 11, yoshinoya, and other random shops. It used to be a Quiznos(an absolutely horrible Quiznos) so when I saw a new samich shop I was definitely interested. The owner is a super friendly guy that has been there 95% of the time. They use high quality meats and cheeses and definitely dont skimp on the samich. Toasted or cold, all the samiches are delicious. Whatever you do, get the vinagrette and you will not be disappointed. Everytime I walk out I am very satisfied and ready to come back another day for another delicious grinder.

WAY better than the quiznos that it took over. it’s been opened since September. I’ve been there around 5 times and there’s always the same two people working. I recommend the«Beach St. Grinders» and«The Hot Moma.”(not spicy) They don’t skimp on meat, and the prices aren’t bad, plus Boar’s Head meat is a bonus. The bread is also VERY soft but pleasantly crispy. you can get it non-toasted or toasted. 5 bucks for a 6inch and your choice of macaroni or potato salad. DONTGETTHETAMALES. i asked for one to-go just to try it. The guy asked me if i wanted it cold or hot… cold so i can eat it later, i guess. so i said cold. went home and microwaved it to eat it… it was gross. everything broke apart and it had no flavor at all.

I should have got the hot mama. The meatball sandwich sucked. No flavor. Kinda cold. I knew it was a bad sign when I saw the guy put the meatballs in a styrofoam cup and microwave them. Here’s the thing… I walked in and said to the guy, «I’m debating between the meatball and the hot mama». He says, «they are both good». If he knew he was gonna have to microwave the meatballs why didn’t he tell me to get the hot mama? I’m kinda bitter.

Pretty awesome place to eat. It beats Subway that is across the way and Lees. It reminds me of the Grinders in Orange… but better service. Papa’s sandwich was amazing and it came with macaroni or potato salad. It has a homemade feel to it yet a step above that. I will be back again. The italian décor makes me want to go back because it is very homie/relaxing.

Please read my previous review for more details… Went back today and tried the Beach St. Grinder — Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef. Had them make it with Swiss. I noticed a few changes from my first review. The veggies weren’t sliced too thick and the meat wasn’t sliced too thin. Everything was just right. Still good Boar’s Head meats AND cheeses. I know Boar’s Head cheese and they aren’t skimping on the high quality cheese. The roll was a little bready though. It was a soft fresh roll, but there is a lot of it. I did not have them toast it. Maybe it works better toasted. I will go against my norm and have it toasted next time. Still a damn good sub. Had them load it up with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, green peppers, black olives, salt + pepper, and extra dressing. Yum. If you are going to a Subway or any chain sub shop near by, shame on you.

*BOAR’S HEAD*BOAR’S HEAD*BOAR’S HEAD* Yes, another sandwich review to my collection. Great deli spot and oddly clean for its surroundings. The parking is completely horrendous but once you find parking, yummy sandwiches with either mac or potato salad. I prefer the macaroni. Only one drawback, they use a lot of non biodegradable stuff. Maybe they can give plates for people who dine in instead of Styrofoam containers. Yes, the utensils and containers are really thick but I can’t stop thinking about the polar bears. PS can someone try the tamales and tell me how they are? i don’t really like tamales so i dont want to waste my taste buds.

Had lunch here today. Picked up the meatball and it was really good. Light on the sauce but that’s the way I like it. I’d definitely go back and try a different sandwich.

Yes! Another place to feed my carb addiction! The sandwiches here are really good! So far, I have only tried the«Dad’s Special» and the«Hot Mama.» Both are awesome. The meats are great, but the bread is what makes the sandwich for me. I love the bread here. It is soft and tastes fresh. In my opinion, a good sandwich must start with good bread. The cold sandwiches are great, but the hot sandwiches could be better. There’s nothing wrong with the sandwiches themselves, but they could be hotter. My brother got a meatball sub here once and he had to reheat it in the oven at home because the cheese was not melted and the meatballs were just warm. I think they should turn up the heat on the oven or leave the sandwich in there longer. The sandwiches are pretty big for the price. Use lots of napkins because it can get messy. They also have ice cream sandwiches here! Haven’t tried them yet, though. Overall, good, friendly shop. Give this place a try!

Nice, clean family owned sub sandwich shop with bright displays and a toaster oven. You can get your sandwich toasted, or just the bread toasted if you like your cold sub on crunchy bread. The rolls are soft on their own. The subs have generous quantities of meat and cheese piled on them, the server had trouble getting mine shut! You get your choice of either macaroni salad or potato salad with your sub. I ordered the«Hot Mama» which was delicious, but not spicy at all. They use Boar’s Heads meats(bonus points!), to give a nice submarine with salami, mortadella, capicolla, prosciutto, tomato, lettuce, onion, and pepperocinis. You get your choice of cheese, I chose provalone. An elderly lady came in while I was waiting and ordered the antipasto, she said it was delicous, that fresh onions and the homemade vinaigrette«just make it!» For dessert they offer homemade ice cream and cookies, or you can combine them both for an ice cream sandwich.
