Came here for a small wedding. Parking lot is small and the back parking is small as well. The banquet is perfect for a small wedding. The food here was great! Had the assorted cold platter, abalone with crab meat soup, peking duck, crab claw with stuffing shrimp ball, and the seafood fried rice.(hai san khan vi, sup bao ngu thit cua, vit bac kinh, cang cua bach hoa, tom hum xao dac biet, com chien hai vi) I didn’t want to try the other two plates. The lobster was alright, although it was mostly just the shell that there was, not much meat. The assorted cold plate had 2 different kind of hams. Chau lau and i guess you can say american ham as well. Overall the food was great. Cant say much about the service because I came here for a wedding but ill Def. come back soon.

Average food and quality. Very small portion sizes for lunch. Did not care for Peking duck because it tasted and looked like deep fried duck. The ambiance is nice. The service was decent. I came here for lunch on a weekday for lunch, and waited for 15 – 20 minutes until the food was brought to us. I would not come back here.

I made a reservation during Mother’s day and the person that I talked to said 11am is a perfect time and he also told us that we will love it there. We came at around 10ish It’s the first time we came in there, I had to think twice if it was a Mother’s day or… Who’s going to have a Wedding reception? Are we bothering someone? Anyway, the set-up of that place… It’s nowhere that you can find the day of our mothers, wedding reception? Absolutely yes! We are the only guest on that time, we even thought that the place is close. Worst is, they said that they’re going to have a «wedding reception» at 11am? Isn’t it the time that I reserved? And the guy who I am talking to said it’s the perfect time? Now, we need to rush??? Sheeessss… Well, they’re like chatting vigorously on who answered my reservation and who will come to our table. Finally, one of the waiter came and took our orders. I’m not trying to discriminate but it took him like 30 minutes to get our orders clear. And the«Manager?» he’s there, just staring at us and not trying to help his waiter. The food? Yea, it’s okay, but not so memorable that I forgot everything that we ordered except the Peking Duck which is too small but taste good and the House Special Lobster which I can say that the lobster is good and seasoned well.

I attended a wedding here over the weekend and I must say, I was disappointed. The last time I was here I was a younger girl so I was excited to come back but it looks like things have gone downhill. The food was terrible! Lack of flavors and not good at all. Parking is horrendous. Normally they let you park in the back too but for some reason they shut it down this time so we were instructed to park at the car wash. Granted, the servers here were all very friendly and nice! But I just cannot get over the food. It wasn’t authentic and just plain tasteless! =(

Let me start by saying that the best things about this place were the white rice and the fact that they delivered our food in a reasonable amount of time. Hence, the one star. We ordered orange chicken, mu shu pork, egg rolls, and white rice. When the delivery guy got here it was clear that one of our items had leaked a brown liquid and it was dripping from the bottom of the bag. The mu shu pork did not come with the pancakes like it says on the menu and I could only eat two bites because it had a really strange flavor. The orange chicken was very salty and sour as if it were lemon chicken instead of the orange chicken. The egg rolls were extremely oily and the sweet and sour sauce tasted very off. I would never order from here again and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very disappointing.

The review is in regards to take-out. Technically, I wanted to give it 4.5 stars. The hardest part of trying a new Chinese restaurant is that you don’t want to be disappointed, especially when the standards have been hardwired by your favorite childhood restaurant.(Same thing goes for pizza.) Mine was Kowloon Kitchen on Whittier Blvd. Since they closed ages ago, I’ve been floating loose, unable to find one that fills the bill, so to speak. This place, however, came extremely close, warranting further exploration into their menu. Shrimp in a Lobster Sauce: This has to be thick and savory yet quite delicate, a hard balance to achieve. 5 stars. This duplicated Kowloon’s best, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked(nice and tender, not curled up too tightly with a nice, light shrimpy taste). Sauce was silky smooth and complemented the rice. Yang Chow Fried Rice: This is the fried rice version of the Loaded Baked Potato. It has EVERYTHING I like. Okay, it doesn’t have Chinese sausage, but that would have overwhelmed all the other flavors. This is probably the most«loaded» Yang Chow I’ve ever had. Of course, this is the way I make my fried rice, too. Shredded Pork Peking-Style: I don’t like overcooked pork or pork that is thready. This was perfectly tender and entirely chewable. If I had to complain about something, I would have liked more of the sauce. I’m sure most people will enjoy it as it is, but I like lots of sauce on mine. Eats better with the rice. BBQ Egg Foo Young: I left SoCal in 1985 to the MidWest and other parts, but when I returned to SoCal in 2013, I discovered that NOONEKNOWSHOWTOCOOK A DECENTEGGFOOYOUNG! What the heck happened while I was gone? I’ll tell you — someone thought that deep-frying a meat-and-veggie omelet was a mortal sin. Rubbish. That’s what makes a very decent egg foo young. And mine was… great! I asked and received extra brown sauce which was very very yummy!(That’s what makes egg foo young so irresistible!) Heads up! If you expect to get a helping of rice for each entrée item you order, you will be disappointed. No, I do not consider this a bad thing. I hate to see good rice go bad because I was given more than I could eat.(In my family, that is a mortal sin!) So order what you need in addition. They offer plenty of options. GrubHub guestimated 45 – 50 minutes for delivery. I received mine in 40 minutes. It was piping hot!!! Major kudos for packing. Shrimp in a Lobster Sauce makes a huge mess when the box tilts, but they securely wrapped it in professional plastic wrap, so not a drop was wasted. I have never seen this done before. The gentleman who delivered my meal found the place rather easily. He even offered to help me take my food in.(Bad car accident.) He also knew this was my first time to try their place.(I’ve ordered online through GrubHub in the past but no one has specifically told me that.) Now that I had a very satisfactory meal here, I am definitely ordering their Peking Duck next!(I wonder if they’ll make it as good as Francis Yim’s???)

I don’t understand why some folks give 5 stars??? Those people must have not been to a real authentic Chinese restaurant. Came here today for a luncheon, but left with a HUGE disappointment! First, the tofu shrimp soup was bland. The shrimp had a strong shrimp smell. Had much better walnut shrimp at many other places. The stir fried noodle was chewy and topped with just a few slices of char siu. The brown gravy sauce was not to my liking either. The House Lobster was just decent, not up to par. The chicken served with the steamed buns was very dry. I bit into a drumstick and it was very crunchy, which in this case wasn’t a good thing. The color was not that good looking either. At this point, I didn’t bother trying the fried rice which was our last dish. This rating is based on the food alone, which was mediocre. The service was decent except when I asked for my satay chili and didn’t get it until 15 min. later. At this point, we were done eating. Won’t be back even if it’s free, I’d rather pay to go somewhere else. This place definitely caters to non-Chinese. If this were in the Monterey Park, it wouldn’t last very long. Sorry to be blunt, but I tell it like as it.

Wad our wedding reception here in May 2015 and are very pleased with the décor of the restaurant, the very good food, the big food portions, the excellent service from the owner, Mr. Phat. I would highly recommend this restaurant based on quality, service and the value for your money! Thanks Mr. Phat!

Pretty good. I got delivery. We got two entrees and an appetizer. They were average cost and average to eat. It does lack some pop of flavor, but since I was home, I had no issue spicing up the dishes as I liked. The driver was very friendly and prompt. Also, the person who took my order(may have been the same guy) was also very helpful and courteous. Only gripe, my food did come with something I specifically ordered without. I just separated the food as I wanted, I’m not allergic, so it wasn’t a big deal, but it did still happen. They are affordable, quick, and decent. If you’re looking for a fast bite; I do recommend this place.

Delicious food and friendly service. the Prices are decent, especially considering the $ 15 for $ 20 or 20% off your entire bill deals on Unilocal.I was surprised by how elegant the atmosphere was considering the menu prices. Again, very friendly staff. The owner even showed us around their banquet room and wrote a note to give us 30% off our next bill! Not sure why the place isn’t more popular. We went on a Saturday and the place was completely empty.

Amazing! Everything was perfect. In the beginning we thought it would be closed b\c it was dark but found out no one was there and were preparing for an event later in the night, luckily they made room for us and gladly seated us. Our server was very friendly, and very accommodating(on top of his game). My mother and I got the shrimp noodle bowl and shrimp chow mein. Food was delicious! not like those small hole in the wall places were the quality is just eh. The food actually tasted bomb! Then at the end the owner Chris was so nice et helping is wth our check. There was a little problem with our Unilocal offer but he decided to till give us our 20% off plus knock off a few extra bucks from our check. Hands down one Chinese restaurant I will always go back to. Thank you Chris and to the chefs. One happy camper

This is my first review, and I must say that my experience here was what prompted me to even write one. First of all, the service is phenomenal. I couldn’t believe how quickly everything came out. A particular shoutout to Phat, who provided exemplary service, very knowledgeable about the menu and making sure our orders came out perfect. Secondly, the atmosphere in here was incredible. It was nothing less than a five-star atmosphere, easily one of the classiest restaurants I’ve ever been to. Finally, the food was absolutely amazing. I had the best lobster that I’ve ever eaten here, and my date had the orange chicken which she said was«amze-balls.» Five stars, every time I’m out on the west coast I will be coming back here!

I don’t usually like to write review but I have to for this one! I’ve attended a wedding here, they excellent customer service, ask for anything and they’ll treat you like a king, unlike many other places. The foods were great! Lobster is the best I’ve ever had, and that’s comparing to MANY other places(I’ve been to in the past) On top of that, it’s a very elegant looking place(the outside could use a little fix). In short, best Asian wedding restaurant I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many.

Although I was hesitant at first to eat here after reading some of the one star reviews, I am so glad I decided to just give it a try. I’ve been here before for my sister’s wedding reception a couple of years ago and a lot has changed since then. The place has remodeled and improved their menu. Location/Parking: The restaurant is located on Beach Blvd and Chapman. It is located in a private parking lot with very limited spots. If there are no spots available, you can park on the street at certain times or across the street where the liquor store is located. Ambiance: I thought the decorations were very nice; elegant and somewhat romantic. I can see why a lot of people host their wedding reception here. Service: Based on previous reviews, it seems like service here isn’t so great. However, I received excellent customer service when I came here. I think management has been trying to improve their service after all the negative reviews. Hence, another reason to give this restaurant a second try. Food: I enjoyed all the items that were served but some of my favorites include: crab meat soup, walnut shrimp, house special fish, house special lobster, peking duck, and the fried rice. Summary: Overall, I enjoyed eating at this restaurant. It is great for large parties and events. The food is delicious and comes in very large portions. If you’re here for a wedding event, stop by the liquor store and get some alcohol!

Seems to be one of those places that serves as a venue for large parties of various occasions. Not too much else to say about that so let’s Unilocal about the food. Attended a wedding reception here last month. Based on past reviews I’m guessing that the restaurant works with you to set up a multiple course dinner. I’m struggling for words so that means most of the food wasn’t that memorable unfortunately. Cold plate appetizer was boring. Shark fin soup(?) was like congealed broth. Fried rice wasn’t that special and I expected a bit more with the Peking Duck… more meaning I want less cartilage when I bite into it. Only things that I remembered being good we’re the lobster special and deep fried shrimp balls. Service was quick and accommodating though.

Quick Review: — Great for large parties and events. — If you’re hard for food choices, go with the Walnut Shrimp, House Special Fish, and House Special Lobster. Location: Right off of Beach Blvd around Chapman Ave. You should be able to see it from the street. Parking: It’s a little tight, but I have never really had any issues. Worst case scenario, you can just park across the street. Inside: I’ve been here for a various birthdays, so the restaurant is usually decorated festively with dim lighting. It’s kept relatively clean, but it can get a little hectic when everyone is running around. There are plenty of tables, so the restaurant can accommodate large parties. Service: Service has always been exceptional here for me. The food comes out in a timely manner, I never have to ask for refills, and the people are genuinely nice. Food: — Crab Meat Soup. This is one of my favorites. It comes with chunks of asparagus and is super tasty. It makes for a great starter. — China Feast Fried Rice. As far as fried rice goes, it’s pretty good. It’s not dried out or overcooked. You get large chunks of meat and shrimp. I can’t complain. — Walnut Shrimp. Goodness! I could eat this all day. Crispy, large pieces of shrimp with a honey-mayo sauce and glazed walnuts. This is a must! — House Special Fish. Super moist and even more delicious. You get a big portion of fish covered in a tangy fish sauce. It has just the right amount of spice to liven things up. — House Special Lobster. A Chinese restaurant would not be complete without House Special Lobster! As soon as it comes out, it’s gone. That should say enough, shouldn’t it? My favorite part is that it always comes with plenty of lobster eggs. I would eat that all day over lobster!

Good times, good food, with good company. China Feast is a restaurant that is able to host large parties with a ton of food. If you enjoy the food at the Asian weddings you will not be disappointed. From the duck with banh bao to the house special lobster the food is on point. My favorite item of the night is the orange drink. That is a must!

Grandparents 65th Anniversary My mom and auntie originally wanted to reserve at another place but nothing was available. This restaurant was the only one that allowed reservations within a week. 30 of my close friends and family came out. The food was all really good. The portions were large and the quality was good. Our lobster was huge and fresh tasting. It was not dry and had plenty of meat. Same goes for the duck and fish. My favorite was the honey walnut shrimp. Everyone was pleased. The service was also awesome. They were really good about bringing us whatever we needed. The restaurant was very intimate. It is small and was perfect for our 3 table party.
