It’s actually kinda hard finding a decent kbbq place for $ 9.99 with decent service. This place isn’t all that bad. And people complaining about the«mandatory 15% tip» your total is still only like $ 12. We always get good service whether it’s empty or busy; they’re friendly with us. And the food is always fulfilling and satisfying. They have more choices for the $ 9.99 menu than other places I’ve been to and their sides and sauces are good. This has become our go-to spot for Korean BBQ whenever we’re even close to the area.

Honestly, located in a sketchy lot but don’t let that intimidate you, the food here is delicious! We got 9.99 Korean Bbq and tried brisket(shaved thicker) than most places, pork belly(cut into single portions) and pork jowl(marinated in a semi teriyaki bulgogi sauce). Their bean paste is thick and stinky just how I like it. The salad is paired with the perfect dressing, and side dishes are better than I’ve had anywhere else. Come eat here now! Give it a try! Service is attentive and I definitely will come back here for kbbq! Only thing I didn’t like, the oil pop on my cheek. Definitely had to take off .5 star lol

I give it a 5 star since it was only my husband and I we paid less than $ 30 for dinner. It’s not a five star restaurant but for what’s it’s worth it’s really good. You can’t pay less and expect service to be the best. The lady who served us gave all we asked and that’s was good enough. Our food was fresh. We wasn’t rushed. We ate as much as we order and there was no hidden fees. It’s was stated that tip was going to be charged 15%. That didn’t bother us. It should be like that due to the fact that some people should have some kind of understanding for the business itself. Overall I really like this place. My husband and I will be back. We enjoy everything about it. I think the other reviews are expecting too much for what they really paid for.

This place was not bad but they don’t serve pork jowl. Their pork jowl is actually marinated pork shoulder. My husband felt ripped off The sauces weren’t plain soy sauce or just sesame oil.

Did not read any reviews prior to eating at this establishment. The food was okay. Did not care for the kimchi. The kimchi cucumber was good. One soup or egg per table. Mandatory gratuity for a party of three shocked me when I received the bill. Is this normal for this kind of establishment or is it a response to a customer base that does not typically leave a gratuity? Gratuities should be based on subtotal not after tax. Check out the check-in status of those«Five Star» reviews.

$ 10 kbbq!!! What more can you ask for? On the real though, this joint has all the basics: Brisket, pork belly, marinated pork jowl, and beef belly! Although you only get one serving of either bean paste soup or steamed egg, the $ 10 makes it well worth it! Great service, nice interior and atmosphere, and all the essential side dishes and sauces! Come check them out!

My boyfriend and I were uncertain about this place due to so many negative reviews. But it was a Tuesday night with his class canceled so we decided«what the heck, let’s try it!» We went for the $ 9.99 per person AYCE and were actually /not/disappointed! The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food had a great quality. Every time we were running low on a plate, the staff would come by and ask us if there’s more we’d like to order. We didn’t even need to push a button(if there was one Lol). They definitely gave the vibe of a charismatic host! :) The food… especially the marinated pork and chicken… it was so delicious that we kept ordering it! The salad was also the dish that we couldn’t resist! As the staff suggested, we ate it with the meat — we were so done after that. Our salad bowl /had/to be refilled. They even offered coffee after we paid for our meal — although we refused, it was very nice of them! All in all, this place was super; my boyfriend and I have agreed to come back again!

1. Food: their beef brisket was okay but their pork jaw tasted funky. Their rice paper tasted very stale and their radish had a bit of an aftertaste. I didn’t try any of their other side dishes or meats. 2. Price: they charge a mandatory fee of 15%-18% for parties of 2 or more. 3. Service: mediocre at best. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant yet good service seemed non existing. Our grill was burned and we tried asking for a new grill. We didn’t get a grill change. The waiter, instead, took our meat and dumped it on the burned grill. She did ask us before doing so and we repeatedly asked her not to do it yet. She did it anyway and said something along the lines of «it’s ok do it now.» Wtf? We only ate a total of 2 meat plates and a big portion of it being full of burned particles thanks to the waiter. We didn’t get our water until we nearly finished our meal. I ate here before and it was also a very bad experience. I figured I’d give them another chance but no luck. It has actually gotten worse.

Don’t get tricked by the big banner that says $ 9.99AYCE. It’s like the ‘trick’ in the Halloween trick or treat bucket. Man! The meat don’t look like those displayed on the picture at all, and I’m not even sure if that’s the meat I ordered. Doesn’t feel or taste right. I ordered pork jowl because that’s the only thing I would eat in a kbbq. But it came out some thin sliced of whatever meat it is. Very disappointed. I was looking at the picture while eating my unexpected ‘don’t know whatever’ meat and imagine I’m eating that delicious piece of pork jowl. Service? Horrible! The sign says OPEN out there and we went in, the lady say say sorry we open 11, it was pitch black inside. The Unilocal page shows open at 8am. Maybe someone need to change that? Anyways, no water was served, not even napkin. And what I hate most about kbbq place is, they cook the meat for you. I came here is to have great experience of cooking my own meat that meets my satisfaction. However, the lady says if we don’t cook, it’s ‘not good’ for the grill. Because we take time eating, so the grill is kinda turning black, she came and just dump all our meat in because she doesn’t want to ‘hurt’ her grill. That means I’m forced to eat those cancer causing black tarry dot stuff. Yucks! Also, only one soup or steamed egg allowed per table. Can you imagine if you have 4 people in your group, or more, you guys have to share that tiny bowl of soup. That’s ridiculous! The more I eat, the more I try to endure the anger and finish the food that I have to pay for. We were thinking of giving less tips or no tips because of our bad experience and extremely rude services. But, guess what, don’t worry about the tips!!! They automatically included a 15% tips on your bill after tax. So it save your dilemma on how much to tip. Good for u, loser. The ad/poster clearly shows tips will be included for party of 5 or more. We are only two person trying to get our lunch. Conclusion is, I will never be back, ever!!! Go to nel bom down the street for $ 1 more, you will at least leave happily with a cup of free ice cream!

Randomly came across this place after shopping with my mom and I really like it! It’s really good if you’re on a budget since it’s only $ 10 ayce :) The don’t give you much side dishes but it doesn’t matter cause all I care for is that mashed potato one lol. The staff are really friendly but can be slow at times but then again there seems to be only like 1 – 2 people working whenever I go but it’s okay the kbbq makes up for it. Definitely my go to place for cheap kbbq. Don’t forget your little cup of coffee/hot cocoa/mocha on the way out! It’s free :-)

I came here with friends to try the $ 9.99AYCE bbq. They only offered about four to five variety of meats. Beef brisket, beef belly, pork jowl, pork belly and marinated pork. The beef brisket was a bit chewy and did not have much flavor. The beef belly was okay and again a bit chewy. The pork belly and pork jowl came in tiny, small slices and did not taste very good being tough and some slices contained chewy cartilage. My favorite of the meats was the marinated pork because it was the most tender of the meats being marinated in a sauce that resembled that which you get with bulgogi beef. I asked them, by the way, if they serve bulgogi beef with the AYCE bbq and they do not. The restaurant itself is a bit divey inside. But, the service was attentive and continually replenished the banchan(side dishes) and refilled the water. When you needed service, you pushed a little button on the corner of the table to which the service responded very promptly. Much better service than another AYCE bbq place at which I recently dined which will remain nameless is this review. Gungjung was nothing special.

$ 9.99 for AYCE?! Well, honestly, with places like these, you can’t expect much. It’s really a «you pay for what you get.» When my friends and I first arrived, we were seated very quickly. We were also asked to order very quickly as well. Luckily, I had a Korean friend who knew what we wanted to order since our waitress didn’t really seem to speak much english. After 5 minutes, our sides came out which consisted of kimchi, rice paper, seasoned salad(delicious btw), mashed potatoes, spicy stringy veggies(I believe), and a bowl of cooked egg. Then, about 10 minutes after that, our meat came out. We started off with the beef brisket. Honestly, there was much more fat than there was meat. Maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but the beef brisket wasn’t all that great. Then, came out the pork belly. It was juicier and overall much better than the beef brisket in my opinion. But again, there was still a lot of fat, much more than I would like. As for the service, it was alright. We had to ask several times to refill our drinks and to get more salad. We also had to remind them twice that we had order a half serving of pork belly(just so we could get stuffed) towards the end of our meal. But our server constantly smiled and had a welcoming attitude, so that made up for it. When our check arrived, the total had come out to $ 50 bucks for 4 people. Wait… shouldn’t it have been around $ 40 for 4 people? It was obvious that they had forced a tip into our total.

Let’s work backwards with when we paid. They will let you know that 18% gratuity will be charged for a group of 6 or more. Heck with a group of 3 they’ll auto charge you the 15% gratuity. That’s a no no. Whats worse is that they will charge you that 18% AFTERTAX, not before. With that said, they will try to make money elsewhere since they offer $ 9.99 for AYCE. My expectations were already set to low since I knew they were on the cheaper side, but damn, one egg OR soup per table? At a table of 4, you’ll have to share one. That’s ridiculous. It would make sense if it was one per two people but nope, tooooo cheap for that. If you love your onions and garlic. extra charge. The meat is as expected — chewy but we would have looked past that since we know they were on the«affordable» side. I did enjoy the pork belly, it was pretty thin. Thinner than your usual thick slices you typically see.(They don’t serve thin sliced pork bellies). They hold off on the radish slices cause they don’t want to give you any unless you ask for it. They’ll also tell you that they ran out of it.(Not sure if that was truly the case or if they were lying) Kimchi was sad. The kimchi cucumber tasted better. Anyway, I gave the place a try without reading reviews and part of me wished I did. Now I know and I will never come back. Don’t try Nel Bom either. They suck as well.

We came in unfamiliar with Korean BBQ etiquette, I do not speak korean so ordering was awkward at first. I asked for a beer and the waitress left to get another waiter to speak with me. I later realized that the posters on the wall showed what was available as a special, and instead of being shown a menu the all you can eat $ 9.99 was suggested or offered. I’m not sure what happened really I just agreed yes and we received a large stack of different meats. I told my son that the white strips of food was tofu and the waitress polity corrected me and described the different sides, the white strips are rice paper. The food was fantastic, I was thoroughly pleased. The other two people in my party showed up just after the first serving and we ordered a second round of the variety of meat. I was told by lets say Mr. X to add more oil and I added a little I was then urged by Mr. X to add more and I smoked us out. I thought we broke the grill and I was expecting to get kicked out but the staff was very nice and accommodating by switching out the grill. We asked the staff how to say Thank you in Korean«kam’sa’hap’nida» and we told them she she and mushi mushi or variations all incorrect of course but everyone laughed sand it was a god experience. We left and the staff thanked us in korean and we attempted again in various fails. The staff was fun after breaking the ice and they were helpful. Good Times!

HEADSUP: gratuity is forced on EVERYONE, regardless of party size. 15% for parties of 1 – 4, and 18% for 5 or more. Frankly ridiculous policy in my opinion, but at least the food is acceptable. For $ 9.99, you get your choice of the usual kbbq items: –beef brisket –beef belly –pork belly –marinated chicken And several more items like salad and steamed egg pot. This place deserves a solid 3 stars — it’s not amazing, nor is it terrible. Service was ample and responsive, every request was met fairly quickly. Both the meat and the banchan quality reflect the low price you pay, but that being said, it’s not too bad a bang for your buck. The grand total bill for two was $ 25, including tax and(involuntary) gratuity. Personally however, at that total, I would just hold out for the Cham Sut Gol lunch special at $ 12.99 a person.

How would I describe this restaurant? Decent Food Rude Service Inaccurate advertisement My personal experience: Pros: *Brisket was okay… Cons: * The advertisement for $ 9.99 is inaccurate. * They implemented a new policy 2 days before we went to go eat there and they do not warn their customers about it. * My group of 4 was forced to pay 15% gratuity because we had a party of 4. * A sign said that gratuity of 15% is forced upon for group of 6 and up but not for 4 people.(Got to love that false advertisements!) * A table gets only ONE Egg pot.(Weird) Overall Rating? 1 Star Comments? The workers told my group of friends that we are one of the first people to complain. But as you can see; many people on Unilocal are dealing with the same problem. It is illegal to force someone to pay specific amount of tip Recommendation for another AYCE $ 9.99KBBQ? Red Palace

I prefer this place over red palace for sure(although I want to go back to red palace and try their 12.99 to try their rib finger meat.) The grill is a HYBRID, it’s a flame grill, however the grill top is like half stone and half steel. BESTADVICERIGHTHERE, TURNTHEHEATUPTOMAX until it starts sizzling other wise you’re waiting 10 minutes for it to heat up. Once it gets hot turn it to medium low. Meat should be cooked slow so the juices will stay in side. That and the fact that the stone grill part of the grill stays hot for a pretty long time. I don’t like marinated meats so I didn’t have to change the grill at all +1NONSTOPEATINGBABY. Cause when you get marinated meats the sauce burns and you’re like eating cancer. Who likes cancer? unless you’re a sadistic person that thinks cancer helps solves the overpopulation problem I prefer my meats untouched by sugar unless i dip it something so i can seperate the taste and flavors of the meat and the sauces. Price? 9.99, 5 cuts of meat, the brisket is where it’s at! wait? none, open early on weekends + 1 I might choose this place over flower pig when im not feeling Beef Stomach because flower pig has that and this place does not!

For 9.99 this place isn’t bad at all. Meat selection includes brisket, beef and pork belly, marinated pork and chicken. It also comes with 1 steam egg or tofu soup per table I believe. Steam egg was good. Salad was good. The meat brought out was frozen. What can you expect? There was only one lady working there when I came and she really did her best servicing everyone. For 9.99 you can’t expect much but this place is probably the best 9.99 ayce place you can go to in the oc. P. s. Free coffee in that small vending machine next to the cashier!

$ 9.99 all you can eat got my attention. So we stopped by. Have been here twice already. The food is surprisingly good for the price. You get 4 types of meat, although the sign says 5. The only bummer is you only get one steamed egg or soup for the whole table. The lady’s that work here really mean well by trying to help you cook your food, although I like my meat with a little crisp the moment they see it that way they try to turn down the heat. Overall service is alright. They wont give you more water or another drink until you ask. Same thing goes if you want more meat. You need to ask. Once they see you done theyll try to clean up your table and turn off the grill. But hey for $ 9.99 this place can’t be beat!
