Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for traditional Chinese food. But I’m not going to complain if they’ve put a spin on their dishes as long as the food is delicious (which this is). My wife and I love this place because what they lack in comparison to other Chinese buffets (No salad bar, etc) they make up for in tasty food. My favorite proteins are the Honey chicken, the chicken with peanut sauce, and the cheesy seafood mix. I can never remember the exact names these dishes are given, but they don’t need a name in my book to be tasty. Haha.
The buffet is good, just make sure you get there during regular meal hours to get the best experience. Near closing and mid afternoon you might get a lesser experience for the food which is why they get 4 stars instead of 5. If they had consistent quality during all operating hours then I would definitely upgrade their score, but until then I would feel guilty rating that high. Some people complain about the service, but the people here aren’t bad people, they smile if you smile and bring refills on drinks when they notice empty glasses. It’s a buffet, so don’t expect to be waited on.
All in all, I’ll keep coming back. Sure, they could use improvements, but that shouldn’t detract from the main focus of a buffet, which is the food. Tasty food at that.

Never again! We usually go for the hibachi and this is the 2^nd time that it was not in operation. Overly grumpy waitstaff and empty pans were enough to piss me off. To add to the delight, the waitstaff ate dinner in the table next to us — with a full volume «slurping» and «gulping» sound. Will never go back again. Never again!

After a bad buffet experience, I swore to never eat Chinese food in Starkville again, but last night, in a moment of desperation, I called in a takeout order from here. It was surprisingly fresher and more delicious than I remember it being a few years ago. It was also a huge portion for a low price, enough for three meals for me. Compared to a Chinese restaurant in a big city, the food is not great (especially at the buffet), but it is the best Chinese food in Starkville.

Only ordered out of desperation… the fried rice was as good as the container it came in. Was no silverware in the bag, still had to go to front desk and get utensils. I would definitely not visit or order from there again.

I wouldn’t bother eating most of the American food (mushrooms stuffed with cheese, etc.), but I would aim for picking out the Chinese food (some of it Americanized, but others like the tofu w/​vegetables and salt-​pepper-​chicken are pretty decent for what you can get locally without cooking it yourself). It’s not bad, and for the price, you get a reasonable buffet. The Mongolian grill comes with the meal, too, as do simple drinks. Beer if you want to pay extra.
Plenty filling, and I’ve had far worse. And ice cream to top it all off. No AMEX here, though.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have more good reviews. It’s the best Chinese in Starkville. It’s so much tastier and more authentic than the Americanized stuff at China Garden.
The buffet an isn’t huge and the sushi selection is small, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in flavor.
Make sure to try the dumplings and the salt and pepper chicken!

The food was mostly good. Sushi was old and egg rolls were mostly wrap.

I think I knew we were in deep trouble when the all the mussels were smothered in… mayonnaise and cheddar cheese. MAYONNAISE. I cannot even make this stuff up, people. I defy you to come up with a good reason to put Miracle Whip on anything served in a Chinese restaurant. This same concoction was also applied to their stuffed mushrooms.
