I walked by this place everyday for 3 years, you can smell it up and down Allen even when it is closed. Good thing I don’t have a fragrance allergy. I bought a couple things from here during the holidays and came out with a migraine and smelling like the store until I washed my clothes and took a shower. I had to wrap my purchases in a plastic bag in order to stop permeating smell throughout my apartment.

I’m amazed by all the bad reviews. I’ve never had an issue with the staff. Everyone is very friendly and the store is always kept organized. No A&F is not as trendy as it once was but now they they’ve taken the silly moose off of most of their clothes and knock off Urban, American Apparel and other similar brands at half the price you may see me wearing a few of their pieces.

The employees are horrible, even when I was delivering a package from FedEx they gave me a «what are YOU doing here» look. As with every A&F store, you can smell it a block away, even with a Chinese Restaurant across the street and a Panera just up the street. The store is overly crowded and dark, and sometimes does not open when it’s supposed to.

Convenient A&F location right next to campus. It’s got that same weirdly pleasing smell permeating from the store. Typical clothes, typical store size. If you like Abercrombie, this isn’t a bad shop. If you don’t then don’t walk down S Allen St because you can smell the fragrance within a block’s radius.

AHHABERCROMBIE. The essential for every college town. To start, they have the prime location, which really gave me a bad impression about life here before I moved to State College. There is not a lot of rhyme or reason to why things are where they are in here, but everything always looks pretty neat and tidy. THis location in particular is filllleeed with guys who think they are soo unbelievably hot. It’s like they look at you displeasingly if you did not get specially dressed to come into their store. I always laugh to myself about this. I can’t really rate them on customer service, because they really aren’t that good at it, but I guess that’s not what they think is in their job description– Their way of serving you is by giving you a fake«all american» smile when you walk in, flashing their pearly whites. Sadly, my boyfriend used to be one of them… Word to the wise– avoid the dressing rooms on the men’s side in the back. They can see you in the reflection of the floor.

I would love to give the store a review, but I have unfortunately never actually made it inside the store. As soon as I get close to the door, I get an impossibly strong migraine due to the intense perfume smells coming out.
