Harper’s is must stop place each time I visit State College for two main reasons:
1) super friendly, knowledgable and non pushy professionals.
2) great selection of Penn State branded menswear by some great brands. All of my favorite golf course wear items are now from here.

A great selection of quality goods from solid brands, much of which matches my personal style. Frequent enough sales and specials to tempt. I’ve taken several friends in to browse for things they were interested in (Ben Sherman shirts, Dobbs fedora hats, proper «interview» clothes, etc.), but I’m too much a «B&T» build to buy much there myself. A few accessories and such. Much the shame, the staff is quite knowledgable friendly and helpful.

Harper is your best option in State College for a suit, formal shirts and ties. They have been around forever, and Mr Harper knows his stuff.
I’ve bought several nice ties there, and had a suit fitted (one of my own: they do tailor). It looked great.
They had plenty of bigger sizes (mid-​40s up) so if that’s what you need, I’m sure you’ll find something. But in my case for a 38R, they had only 4 – 5 suits available and none did it for me. It was probably just bad timing, but still.
