Reserving a room online was quick and cheap and checking in was a breeze. The«basic» rooms are painted well and very nice to stay in. The view is the parking garage, but for a basic room you can’t expect a scenic view! This hotel has sports bars inside as well as several gift shops and CINNABON!!!(And Starbucks is right next to the check in desks!!) The hotel is right in the midst of the cool shops and bars/restaurants outside. Easy walk to good food and drinks and back! Easy walk to Raleys too if you need any items! 4 miles up the road is Zephyr Cove too! Such a perfect location and had a wonderful stay! Would recommend!

I stayed for a conference. The location and the views from the rooms were AWSOME ! The service was not bad at all. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were quite outdated ! The lighting was not enough. The electrical outlets were not in convenient location. I had to charge my iPad in the bathroom. I was later told there was an outlet behind the headboard! The exhaust in the bathroom was so loud ! I felt the price was quite a lot for what it offered. I can find state of the art casino rooms for less!

We stayed the Weds. and Thurs. night before the Memorial weekend rush. It was very quiet both in the casino and in the area. The ability to take your dog with you on vacation with you is a real plus, and Harvey’s makes it easy. We were placed on the 5th floor, close to the elevator, with no view which was fine. The Pet Relief area is close and convenient, yet tucked away — perfect. The room furniture leaves a lot to be desired but again, not that big of a deal for us. We get we aren’t going to get their best rooms with a pooch. But it was clean, comfortable and had all of the necessities. We used the work out center and it was very nice. The pool looked inviting. The downside. No room service except for breakfast. Inconvenient but fine. The BAD: The maid knocked twice(two short knocks) with a coin at 8:30am and immediately barged into the room both mornings! No time to cover up, get the toothbrush out of your mouth or get to the door! UNACCEPTABLEONANYLEVEL.

A very good hotel that is also budget friendly as far as Lake Tahoe goes. The mountain tower is roughing it a bit. Rooms are small, generally older and bathrooms are not as well laid out or spacious as the Lake Tower. I’ve noticed mattresses are not as plush either. I would for sure get the upgrade to the Lake tower if it is just $ 20 or $ 50 a night. It will be the difference between you liking your stay and perhaps not liking it so much. Especially if its your first time at Harveys — don’t let the old tower you sour you to the whole place. Great outdoor pool. Always very warm water. Casino is so-so. Table limits are $ 5 plus on weekdays and $ 10 plus weekends in general. Machines can be hit or miss. Hotel lay out is a bit strange, parking lot is an odd walk… I love it when parking lot leads directly to registration and then having the hotel elevator just a few steps away. Cromwell Las Vegas is one example as is Silver Legacy in Reno. Younger crowd here than Harrahs next door which is the same company now. If Harrahs costs just $ 70 more go for it for sure. Rooms there are great — layout of everything better. Indoor pool is awesome. Every room even has two full bathrooms. I usually aim for Harrahs but if its a busy weekend I go for Harveys as Harrahs can get super expensive.

Harvey’s is starting to show its age. I attended a professional conference here recently and the property is definitely looking a little worn. The best part is the hotel and the large comfortable rooms and the magnificent views of Lake Tahoe. The décor was a bit outdated — it seemed dark and drab. There were not a lot of outlets conveniently available for charging myriad electronics. The Wi-fi that comes with the non-optional resort fee was adequate. The only comment I can make about the gaming area is that it is a pretty standard dark casino with the typical totally disorienting layout and décor. The convention area was fairly convenient and I like that it is completely separate from the gaming area. Most of the rooms were well laid out and fairly comfortable. Staff were available to assist as needed. The dining was OK. Breakfast was virtually nonexistent. There are much better options off property for both. I would consider staying here again for an on-site event for the convenience.

This hotel experience this past weekend left much to be desired! By far the bed in the TINY room were we given was the worst I think I have ever attempted to sleep on. By morning my back was so sore I couldn’t walk, much less bend my back in any way. After 30 minutes in a hot shower I at least able to move enough to get dressed. I ended up going shopping for extra pillows in order to try to make the bed tolerable for the 2nd night of our stay. The room was TINY with almost no room to move around the bed. There was no sort of desk space to sit and work, just 1 tiny table with 2 living room type chairs that were horribly uncomfortable as well. Although in room wifi was advertised as free, when we tried to connect, the only way to get on the wifi was to agree to a $ 18.99 fee per day. At the time of check in, we were told that there was a resort fee of $ 20.00 per night that was not included in what we paid when we made the reservation with hotwire. At the time of check out, they then insisted the resort fee was $ 25.99 a night. Seriously, that is 25% of what the cost of the room was :-( Then when it was time to leave, we found that none of the elevators to the parking garage from the ground level were working, so I ended up having to walk to the top of the parking garage to get my car so that we could load out luggage. I would recommend that anyone considering this hotel, look elsewhere!!!

We stayed in the Harvey’s hotel on the 16th floor and we got lake side. The room is beautiful and the view is breathtaking! I absolutely love it here! Room service was also delicious

Not bad. Not bad at all. Typical hotel casino in a lot of ways but the two positive things that stood out the most were check-in and the pool. As for the negatives? Again. Typical hotel casino stuff. Check-In with Craig was great, he was friendly and efficient. I love it when people help make a great first impression. The room was actually pretty nice! We had family staying one floor below the top floor and our room seemed even nicer than theirs(minus their absolutely stellar view of the lake). My guess is that our floor(6th) had been remodeled more recently. We needed a snack before a late night dinner reservation down the street so we hit up the Hard Rock Café downstairs. Four of us(well, let’s combine the two little people to equal a third *very small* person) all took down their nacho plate and it was a perfect amount. We also ordered one of their seasonal drinks(Irish Mule) and it was scrumptious with a decent pour. Ok let me clarify, by «perfect amount» of nachos I meant a generous and significant amount that would make us not hungry yet for dinner a few hours later, damn. The littles were insistent on hitting up the pool. We could have bet the farm that the water was going to be freezing. A little insight on me, I don’t like being cold. I actually hate it to the point that it makes me nauseous. I was however willing to just bite the bullet and take one for the team so the kids could fulfill their fantasies and desires of swimming at the hotel’s pool. The water? Sweet baby Jeebus, it was probably about 90 degrees. AMAZING. I was talked into going into the hot tub but actually preferred the pool. Also didn’t hurt that Starbucks was front and center once we stepped off the elevator from our room. Not a lot of bones to pick but I’m not sure why it felt like the room couldn’t really warm up. If we had our thermostat set to 71 at home, we would all wake up in puddles of sweat, crying. All around one of our better hotel stays!

Room was absolutely filthy — not cleaned. Bathroom was disgusting and the bed sheets had blood on them. I spoke with Kristen or Kirsten at the front desk(she would not speak clearly). She refused to move is to another room and said she would«try» to have housekeeping come by but could not guarantee anything. Asked for an email address for a manager — refused. Asked for a voicemail — refused. Do not stay here.

Customer service here is fantastic! We got treated like a high roller from the minute we arrived to check out. Hotel and rooms were very clean. We had a couple tiny issues with our room that were taken care of immediately. This hotel is actually under same ownership as neighboring casinos. It doesn’t have a lot in way of restaurants and staff suggests going to Hard Rock or Harrahs. The only drawback was the noticeable under-par quality of the work done on the room upgrades. New wallpaper is bubbling everywhere and cut edges are hanging in multiple locations. This was our second visit and both experiences were great.

Pretty nice room with a great view of mountains, lake, and the main street. Shower pressure excellent, water hot. Bed & pillow feel great(advice: always check for bed bugs at any hotel, never found any in my life but better safe than sorry). $ 2 minimum roulette, won $ 300 off $ 20 and felt like I could buy the casino. lol Thanks Harvey!

Expensive and crowded. Expect high limits and sup bar service. This is a review of the casino only btw. Not bad by any means but not my kind of place. Tons of tables though but they are all packed with people and it seemed like $ 20 minimums are the normal rate for Friday and Saturday nights. Sports book is not great. Good selection of slots just didnt seeem to even pretend to entertain, just sucked down the cash. You can do worse for sure but bring lots of cash if you want to have any fun.

My brother’s wedding entitled us to a «great» group rate of $ 175 a night. We were excited to see how big our room was gonna be, but was really disappointed. The Deluxe King from the 6th floor had a view of the mountains … and the rooftop of the casino. For the same price we paid, we found out that my parents got a suite. Jet setted tub, king sized bed, a living room with a wet bar and a HUGE flat screen TV. The hotel was fully«booked» so there was no way to switch our rooms. The casino does have an advantageous location, being an 8 minute walk to Heavenly Village where there are about 3 blocks long of restaurants, smaller eateries and shops. I like that the Starbucks at the hotel was conveniently located off the elevators but they featured hotel prices.(i.e. $ 5.75 for a breakfast sandwich. Ouch.) Other than the centralized location, I would do my research next time and seek out other options that are worth the $ 175 a night. Also, Harvey’s tacks on a $ 20 resort fee per night for use of internet, parking, gym, etc. What is this, Vegas?! The casino floor was full of excitement but Harvey’s didn’t pay out as much as Harrah’s did, so that’s where we took our hard earned cash to play the slots and card games. So take the time and walk over across the street and try your luck at Wheel of Fortune.

Is there a word to describe how bad this place is? I don’t think there is. We showed up with a reservation and gave our IDs. Recently married, my wife doesn’t have an ID with her married name. My name, however, matches the last name on the reservation, and her ID matches the first name. They wouldn’t let us check in. They wouldn’t accept a credit card or Costco card with a picture and her married name. Nothing. They wouldn’t even look at the confirmation email in my wife’s inbox. So, after the clerk checks with the«manager», she determines that our only option was to cancel the reservation and rebook, AT A HIGHERRATE!!! Oh, but she’s going to do us a favor and«hook us up». So, at 11:30 at night, 20 minutes later and with 20 pissed off people behind us, we get our keys. Wait… What? You can cancel my f’ing reservation without an ID but you can’t check me into it? God forbid I check into a reservation without«proper identification» at a hotel that is not fully booked. Yet, I can MAKE a reservation with no ID and I can also call in and change the name, all with no ID! We get to our room and it’s not what we paid for. It is awful. We go back downstairs and she«hooks us up» again and gives us a «complimentary upgrade», which turned out to be yet another room from the 70’s, but this time with a king bed. This next room is also two levels below the category that we paid for. Awful, atrocious décor, threadbare towels and dirty carpet say everything about this property. My wife woke up at 7:00am on our rock hard bed dying for water. We’re not using those disgusting glasses that they wash in the bathroom sink and the 1970 faucet is 1 inch from the nasty sink so you can’t get your mouth up to it. This is the only hotel that I’ve ever been to that doesn’t have water in the room. F this, we canceled our next two days and moved to a better property for the same money for a world class experience. Never again. No wonder Caesars is bankrupt. Awful, awful place.

Always fun to come here. Harvey’s tends to be a little quieter than Harrahs but I like the sports book at Harvey’s. The only thing is they need more lights in garage. Seems like 3rd floor is the only lighted floor. Park on 5 and pretty dark. Could seem unsafe. Put lights in your garage!

Wow, what can I say… This place has really let it self go. Years ago, this place was the crown jewel of the South Lake Area, especially after the«bombing» in the late 70’s. I remember seeing people polishing the brass on the doors, people treating the guests professionally and politely. When I would show up as a guest, I felt like I was someone special. Currently the place seems dirty, signs of lack of maintenance. It is a shame to see the decline of this place, I used to always love coming here

Lake tower renovated rooms has got to be the biggest 550 sq ft comfortable room in South Tahoe. Marble seperate shower tub and toilet is ceased classy. Toilet fan is loud though and rickety. I hear other Harvey rooms are about ½ size and not so nice… Reflected by other reviews. Michelle at front desk reflected a down to earth classy. Nice, worked hard to find me a room away from partiers. Really appreciated her professionalism and caring attitude. This maybe my fav in south Tahoe to date.

A 5 star review for a place I didn’t stay in? Sure! Why, you ask? Well, I won money at the casino. And, yes. that’s as good as it gets. Seriously though, the casino wasn’t really crowded. They had only a few tables really happening– roulette was one. I was feeling lucky that day and took advantage of it. It paid off and paid out… all $ 8.00 of it! I’d probably go back to this casino over Harrah’s simply for the local feel.

Thanks to Unilocal’s Tahoe Getaway(YTG), we made this a mini family vacation. Was the journey worth it? — you betcha! It was the perfect reason to take a road trip up to the Sierra. If you ever thought about coming here, just do it. It’s the most picturesque mountain range besides the Rockies of course, absolutely breathtaking. Words can’t explain its beauty, not even pictures, one has to see this magical piece of heaven on Earth with their own eyes. Harvey’s did a decent job at renovating its rooms. It’s clean with stunning views(both mountain & lakeside). Kid-friendly with a spacious arcade and an excessive amount of games to choose from. For those who don’t know, there’s also an arcade in Harrah’s. Since they’re all the same owners, Harvey’s advised we could also use their Harrah’s pool & hot tub(indoor). Nonetheless, our son utterly enjoyed Harvey’s outdoor heated pool & hot tub; kids are immuned to the weather. Harvey’s pool is 3 feet deep, whereas Harrah’s is 8 feet deep. He had a blast at both locations with the pool all to himself, no crowds. We can’t wait to return to Lake Tahoe and stay at Harvey’s resort for the convenience of all its amenities.

Stayed again recently and got a comped room but you still need to pay the«resort» fee — $ 22 per night that at least included wireless internet. The good news is that they must have recently moved the dog friendly rooms from the 14th floor down long ass hallways to the 5th floor, which is now much easier for us to get out of the hotel on a much shorter elevator ride. I stayed in room 547 which was perfect because my dog isn’t barky, so I was literally 5 steps from the elevator for quick bathroom runs.
