Two star is not as much for the apartment complex as it is the management company. At least the apartments are newer compared to the rest in Tahoe. They have that going at least. ConAm management is about keeping it’s «investors» happy. This is a tax credit property where you have to meet certain income requirements. That meaning you can only make so much to qualify there. That is fine. If you are going to make a certain amount then they should price it accordingly, right? At first they will. When there are barely any tenants they get you in there. Then, year after year the rents go up. Max rent they can charge would be 1⁄3 of your qualifying income. Barely leaves you enough to live unless you pack the apartments full. Not to worry, plenty of your neighbors will. Close to not up to fire code tight. Management gets a bonus paid on occupancy and rent price so keep that in mind when looking. Here they say it is about the community but in reality it is about the investors.

Weeds growing in the yard, chronic mouse problems, terrible community management, and the most insultng property manager I’ve ever talked to in my life. If you run a tax-subsdized low income complex, telling your cleints that they’re leaching off the government for taking the very subsidy that makes your complex possible is NOT a good idea.
