They’re food is tasty, fresh and delicious. I’ve ordered sandwiches, salads, wraps and tried a few of their breakfast dishes. All was delicious. No complains on the service and quality of the food. Getting quality food. Two of the dish that stood out was the chicken caesar salad and the fried eggplant with fresh mozzarella with basil pesto. My husband loved the sandwich & I enjoyed my salad very much.
However, their prices are alot higher than other Italian specialty delis. The only reason I go here is that it’s close to my home. literally walking distance.
There is limited seating and more of a get your food n go type of store. It’s a sandwich store.

I’ve had this place on my to do list for quite awhile now.
Whenever visiting family, my brother & I do like trying different places in our old neighborhood. This is not a misprint. It’s early March and we were able to SIT OUTSIDE. With temperatures in the mid to upper 50’s we sat at one of the two small tables out front for lunch.
My sandwich was a Miami Vice. It’s grilled chicken, melted provolone cheese, prosciutto, sun dried tomato with artichoke spread on warm Italian bread. Big brother went with a Reuben sandwich & we enjoyed our lunch in this balmy weather.
While sharing our sandwiches, we noticed that it was very lean pastrami. Not like some that can be on the fatty side.
It’s not just an Italian deli. Breakfast, wraps & panini’s are served as well.
Just a side note. If you are a Yankee fan, one might be interested in A & S also. On the menu are sandwiches called Yankee, Jeter & of course A-Rod. Maybe next time…

My coworkers and I eat breakfast from here a few times a week. I’ve never been disappointed, and the people behind the counter are so hospitable. Every time over ever had lunch it been amazing. The chicken franchaise is to die for and shrimp parm heros are a Friday only thing, but well worth the wait. Not a sit down and eat kind of place maybe if it’s just one person. It’s more of a grab and go place. Will continue to give this place business. If I ever need an event catered I’ll definitely be ordering from here.

If you’re ordering a sandwich, this place can’t be beat. My office has ordered from this place numerous times in the past with rave reviews from everyone. I love the heroes from here.
HOWEVER
Today 1÷29÷15 I was feeling a bit adventurous and decided to try their burger for the first time. If what I received is any indication of their grill work, then I’d say avoid the hot food. I asked for the burger medium with a side of well done crispy fries. The food came an hour and a half after the order went thru — the burger was obviously cooked at least a day ago and just reheated to a rubbery leather disk and the fries were thick cut, drenched in oil and spongey.

A & S provided catering for breakfast: brunch for my entire office. The wraps, sandwiches, platters and fruit was amazing! Coffee juice and all. If you have not had the chance to stop here, please make time. You will never look for another place for the best breakfast, lunch and catering. All of the hot food for lunch is excellent… Meatloaf, fishes… Grilled /fried chicken. The list is endless.

Awesome sandwiches! My personal recommendation is the jimmy special. Roast beef with fresh mozzarella and gravy… Yummmm. There are always a lot of staff behind the counter so they have you in and out quickly. Prices are very reasonable.

Awesome local sandwich shop, with some great sandwich combos.
In addition to your regular italian & american hero choices, they specialize in turning Italian Dishes into tasty sandwiches. My personal favorite is the Chicken Alla Vodka Sauce, but the Chicken Marsala, Pesto with mozzarella and Francese are can’t miss options too.
If you are in SI or just passing through put A&S on your to-do-list.

I was turned on to this place by coworkers of mine, who often got lunch from here. They’ve downsized since they moved across the street and focus more on catering now, but they have a huge variety of sandwiches and wraps for lunch. You can make your own, but the menu choices are great. Personal favorites of mine are the Caesar, Southwestern, and potato/egg/cheese. If I lived closer, I’d be there as much as possible.
